Xue An expected Zhushi Jiu’s face to reveal a shocked expression. However, none came.
Zhushi Jiu was only deep in thought, unsure of what he was thinking about. After finishing his thoughts, he said, “You continue.”
“You don’t believe my words?” Xue An asked.
“I believe half of it,” Zhushi Jiu said seriously. “In fact, I also pay attention to strange news from around the world. After hearing what you’ve said, I thought of some news I had seen before but didn’t think deeply about.”
Xue An was speechless for a moment before asking, “For example?”
“For example, the incident 35 years ago, in 2010, in Arkansas, USA, where tens of thousands of black birds fell from the sky. The experts concluded that the birds encountered an inversion layer, which caused them to fall.”
Zhushi Jiu directly brought up the news that Xu Feng had told him before. As expected, Xue An was stunned after hearing Zhushi Jiu’s words.
Zhushi Jiu continued, “However, I conducted simulations on this event, and I discovered that even after simulating the 35-year-old Arkansas weather conditions and combining them with the biological model of the black birds, I couldn’t replicate the results of the birds falling from the sky, even after simulating it for over a month on the computer.”
“I thought it was my calculation mistake and couldn’t forget it for a long time. Now that you’ve mentioned it, I’ve remembered it again.”
Zhushi Jiu said nonchalantly, “Ah, yes, I just mentioned it. In fact, I don’t know if my research has any relation to the alien creature invasion you’re talking about.”
Xue An, Liu Jing, and the eavesdropping Fan Jingyan and Yi Rou were all shocked at this moment!
They knew that 2010 was the year humans first discovered the World Enemy. The incident of the black birds falling from the sky was also the opening curtain of humanity’s resistance against the World Enemy.
They couldn’t believe that someone could deduce the doubt of that event just from a news report and simulation.
“What’s wrong?” Zhushi Jiu asked.
“Oh, nothing,” Xue An pressed down his inner shock, and his gaze towards Zhushi Jiu became even more intense.
“We’ll continue,” Liu Jing said from the side. “What we told you earlier was only part of the truth. If you’re willing to believe our words about the alien creatures, the conversation would be much easier for both of us.”
Liu Jing took out a paper document and a pen from a bag beside him and placed it on the tea table, seemingly calm but actually quite impatient.
With a light push, the document slid to Zhushi Jiu’s face.
“This is a confidentiality agreement. Take a look, and if you have no problem with it, please sign it.”
Zhushi Jiu flipped through the agreement, which mainly consisted of restrictive words, warning him not to leak their conversation, or he would face punishment.
Was this confidentiality agreement useful?
If you asked Xue An and Liu Jing, they would say “no.”
Just like their previous words, this confidentiality agreement was just for comfort.
No matter if Zhushi Jiu signed it or not, they wouldn’t allow their conversation to be leaked.
Zhushi Jiu knew this, but still pretended to be unaware and signed the agreement.
After signing, Xue An and Liu Jing began their second phase of conversation.
“The true face of the alien creatures? Perhaps you think they’re humanoid creatures often seen in sci-fi movies, but in reality, they’re more like insects.”
Xue An opened his tablet computer, slid through a few screens, and brought out a photo, placing it in front of Zhushi Jiu.
“This is the appearance of the alien creatures.”
Zhushi Jiu took a look and saw that it was indeed an Alien Creature.
“Our Resource Protection Agency exists to eliminate these monsters! For this, we’ve been secretly acting, fearless of sacrifice, and each member in the agency has been trained to be an elite warrior capable of countering these monsters!”
Then, Xue An emphasized the efforts and sacrifices made by the organization in fighting against the Alien Creatures, as well as their research and development of weapons, making it seem like every person in the organization had the most noble beliefs.
After hearing all this, Zhushi Jiu wanted to ask.
What about the Black Troop?
They didn’t mention how powerful the Black Troop Organization was or how they were like a mouse scurrying around in the sewers in front of the Black Troop. They also didn’t mention that the Black Troop had been at the forefront of fighting against the Alien Creatures, providing the largest output.
Most importantly, they didn’t mention the existence of the World Enemy.
Xue An presented a bright and cheerful scene before Zhushi Jiu’s eyes, as if everything was fine, and humanity’s future was without obstacles.
If this were an ordinary person, they might be deceived by their words, but Zhushi Jiu wouldn’t be.
He asked, “I want to ask a question. You said that the alien creatures invaded not only our country but the entire Earth. So, I want to ask, do we have related deployments in other countries?”
Xue An’s tempting tone stopped.
Zhushi Jiu had asked a great question.
He shook his head. “We don’t. Our organization is subordinate to the country, and our duty is only to protect the country’s safety. Moreover, other countries also have their own measures against the Alien Creatures and don’t need our management.”
“Doesn’t need our management?”
Zhushi Jiu pretended to be puzzled and asked, “What about smaller countries with insufficient national power? Do they have the ability to counter these monsters? If even those small countries have the ability to counter them, aren’t these monsters quite weak?”
The answer was that the Black Troop Organization had tentacles all over the world, protecting those people.
“This…” Xue An laughed awkwardly.
Zhushi Jiu continued, “I suddenly thought, if those Alien Creatures are ravaging those small countries, why haven’t we heard any news about it? Is it because all the countries have united to conceal the news? So, don’t all countries have the ability to establish an organization to counter these monsters?”
The answer was that the Black Troop Organization was controlled by multiple countries behind the scenes.
“This…”
Zhushi Jiu’s questions directly pierced the heart of the matter, and Xue An couldn’t respond.
Zhushi Jiu asked, “Is our country the only one fighting against the Alien Creatures? Can you fully represent the national government? Or are you just one of the factions in the country that’s fighting against the Alien Creatures?”
Xue An had nothing to say.
He was completely stunned by Zhushi Jiu’s questions, and even his brain was muddled.
“You… are not bad.”
Xue An said.
“I didn’t expect you to think of the key points so quickly. Yes… I was about to tell you anyway, but you asked first.”
This was another lie.
They didn’t expect Zhushi Jiu to react so quickly. They were originally thinking of slowly selling him a bill of goods.
If the other side knew that there was another, more powerful organization in the country, the Black Troop, and that it had been pushing them to a corner with no resistance, what would they choose?
Under the pressure, Xue An’s expression turned serious, and he told the biggest lie of the day.
“Actually, our organization is the largest in the country, and other organizations with no names are scattered around the world. We’re responsible for fighting against most of the Alien Creatures, while other organizations are responsible for cleaning up the remaining Alien Creatures and are just small forces.”
Xue An smiled confidently.
“Those organizations, in our eyes, are just like sewer rats, not worth mentioning!”
The two Black Troop members standing behind Zhushi Jiu’s back twitched at the corners of their mouths, speechless.
