In the morning, Zhushi Jiu did the same as he did last week – he went to the Fine Arts Department and found the master artist who had drawn two portraits for him. He received two sketches that were almost identical to the ones in his memory.
The artist’s painting skills were extremely impressive, and Zhushi Jiu couldn’t find any differences between the sketches and the ones in his memory. He was amazed.
Next, he contacted Bro CD… This time, it wasn’t to use Bro CD as bait, but to give him his BBS account and password.
“Post these two pictures on the forum homepage of all seven schools at 6 pm, and pin my post to the top.”
This was Zhushi Jiu’s instruction.
He didn’t need to add any extra operations, as he already knew that the Black Soldiers would target the “World Enemy” tomorrow and were currently in a state of high alert.
By using Bro CD’s account, the Black Soldiers or that mysterious organization would first suspect Bro CD, not him.
This simple operation cost Zhushi Jiu 500 yuan. He didn’t know if it was a good price, but at least he had saved money.
Next, he hurried to the archery range before noon.
“Do you want to buy the Shadow Bow?”
Seeing Du Fei, she was arranging her equipment, looking puzzled at the unfamiliar young man in front of her.
“Yes,” Zhushi Jiu replied briefly, his tone still carrying the gloom he felt when he had just returned.
Du Fei looked at Zhushi Jiu, her reaction different from before.
“You’re from where?” she asked.
Zhushi Jiu recited his lines, as he did last week: “I had the privilege of hearing your grandfather’s name, and I believe he’s a true master in the archery circle. I heard that you once sold the Shadow Bow, so I came to find you.”
“I’m not selling,” Du Fei said coldly.
Zhushi Jiu was stunned.
“Coach Du? If you’re not selling, I can offer more money…”
“It’s not about the money. If you think you can buy my respect with money, then you’re mistaken,” Du Fei said, her tone calm and detached.
Zhushi Jiu realized his mistake. He was too hasty, even more so than last week.
His hastiness made him overlook every step, and he only focused on the bigger target.
Coach Du was a perceptive person, and she immediately noticed his problem.
Feeling embarrassed, Zhushi Jiu’s anxiety began to dissipate, and his gloomy mood rapidly disappeared.
“What do you need the Shadow Bow for?” Coach Du asked, still wary.
“To practice archery,” Zhushi Jiu replied, without hesitation.
Saving the world? No, that was just his ultimate goal. For now, he only wanted to practice archery.
In the previous timeline, he didn’t use the Shadow Bow, but he still practiced archery for an afternoon.
Archery wasn’t something you could master overnight, and although his skills had improved rapidly, he needed to show more value to be on par with the Black Soldiers.
The middle-aged man from the Black Soldier organization had exceptional judgment and insight, so Zhushi Jiu needed to create a layer of disguise to replace his “ordinary college student” persona.
Perhaps seeing the sincerity in Zhushi Jiu’s eyes, Coach Du slowly let her guard down.
Then she spoke the same lines as she did in the ninth timeline: “I’m looking for a worthy owner for the Shadow Bow. If you can defeat me in archery, I won’t take a single yuan from you. I’ll give you the Shadow Bow directly.”
Again?
Zhushi Jiu clenched his fist…
…and got thrashed in the afternoon.
This time, Coach Du didn’t look at Zhushi Jiu with disdain like she did in the ninth timeline.
Back then, she had crushed his confidence, making him question his skills.
This time, Coach Du smiled and put down her bow: “You’ve been practicing archery for some time, haven’t you? You’re different from ordinary beginners. Your posture is excellent, and your shooting is quite stable.”
In the single-arrow competition, Zhushi Jiu barely won five arrows out of twenty-one, while in the total competition, he scored 150 points, averaging 7.5 points per arrow, which was a decent score.
Coach Du still dominated, scoring 180 points with an average of 9 points per arrow.
When Coach Du asked about his experience, Zhushi Jiu nodded: “Yes, I’ve been practicing for some time.”
Little did she know that his “some time” was only a week, similar to a newbie who had practiced for two or three months in her concept.
“By the way,” Zhushi Jiu suddenly said.
“What?” Coach Du asked, looking at him.
“I really appreciate your archery skills. Do you have any interest in joining an archery club? You can get at least 5,000 yuan in coaching fees every month just by being a member.”
“What? Is that even possible?” Coach Du asked, her eyes wide in disbelief. “What’s the name of that club?”
Zhushi Jiu smiled brightly, innocent and harmless, and spoke three words.
“Executive Chess Society.”
