In the Jiangcheng University dormitory, Zhushi Jiu and Li Hua sat face to face.
“……So, you’re saying my five kills are gone?” Li Hua asked, his eyes widening in disbelief.
Zhushi Jiu rubbed his eyebrows, sighing tiredly. “I told you, the world is ending. What’s your reaction?”
“The five kills were me from last week. This week’s me was blown up…you really think I’d believe this joke?”
Zhushi Jiu couldn’t help but feel helpless. Li Hua was someone who easily believed others, but if there was no evidence, he was also a firm materialist. Just like the previous two weeks, Li Hua would only half-believe him when Zhushi Jiu made accurate predictions, like the power outage event.
“There’s a small yellow book in the third box under your bed.”
Zhushi Jiu casually mentioned the secret Li Hua had told him two weeks ago. Li Hua’s eyes widened instantly.
“Your cloud storage password is LH98919…should be correct, right?”
Li Hua took a step back, his eyes filled with disbelief.
Zhushi Jiu’s heart, worn out from multiple deaths, finally gained a little pride. His emotions suddenly became much more relaxed.
Setting aside the desperation of doomsday, this feeling of using the rewind to show off in front of people was quite enjoyable.
Li Hua stuttered, “Zhushi Jiu, did you really experience more than one doomsday?”
“Although I want to complain about how you easily believe me…forget it. Since you already believe me, let’s discuss our strategy. How can we avoid doomsday?”
“Strategy…what’s that? Wait, Zhushi Jiu…I’m really confused. Am I dreaming…the things you’re saying are too sci-fi…”
Zhushi Jiu took out his phone and checked the time, calmly saying, “The dorm’s electricity is about to shut off.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the air conditioner let out a long “beep” sound, and the fan blades slowly closed.
Li Hua was completely convinced. Zhushi Jiu continued, “Doomsday begins with a blue light in the sky above Jiangcheng. Although I didn’t examine it closely the previous times, it should be some kind of energy explosion in the sky above Jiangcheng.”
“Still too sci-fi…”
Zhushi Jiu continued, “The second week’s you and I had a question – why did the energy explosion happen at 10 am?”
Li Hua stared blankly for a moment before nodding. “…It’s indeed strange.”
In his heart, he thought, Can I really think of this question myself? Right now, his brain was still in a mess.
Seeing Li Hua’s stunned expression, Zhushi Jiu quickly reacted, realizing he was too impatient. He hadn’t considered Li Hua’s acceptance ability and directly told him everything about the previous two rewinds.
But reality wasn’t a game, and he couldn’t just push forward the plot or skip through conversations like an NPC.
Knowing this, Zhushi Jiu deliberately stopped.
Li Hua took some time to process, finally asking, “So, is it possible that this energy explosion was man-made?”
Zhushi Jiu replied, “Uncertain, but highly possible.”
Li Hua then asked, “But isn’t it strange? Zhushi Jiu, if everything you said is true, can humanity’s current technology really achieve such an energy explosion? I escaped to J Province by plane and high-speed rail, and still couldn’t avoid it.”
Zhushi Jiu bitterly smiled. “If I can die and rewind, which is unscientific, then why can’t it be possible? Honestly, I’m suspecting that someone with superhuman powers wants to destroy the earth.”
Li Hua’s eyes widened, thinking deeply. “Maybe it’s really possible…the world is finally going to revive spiritually?”
Zhushi Jiu couldn’t refute this possibility, given the current information.
Li Hua then said, “I think we can do something, even if we don’t know much. You have the ability to rewind, which means you can try different strategies like a game character. As long as you ensure death, you can restart…”
Zhushi Jiu wondered, “What do you mean?”
“You can spread rumors about the prophecy, and see if the culprit will back down. If they discover that someone has predicted the future, they might choose to retreat and act at a different time.”
Zhushi Jiu thought for a moment, understanding Li Hua’s plan.
This idea was quite bold, as it contained a considerable risk.
But if they guessed correctly that doomsday was man-made, they could try to make the culprit retreat by spreading rumors.
The only effect would be—
Zhushi Jiu looked at Li Hua, who was smiling. “You want to sacrifice this week…”
Li Hua quickly waved his hand, looking embarrassed. “Don’t say ‘sacrifice’ so grandly, it’s embarrassing.”
However, Zhushi Jiu still remembered Li Hua’s words from the second week. Although each week’s Li Hua was the same to him, to Li Hua himself, life was only once.
How could Zhushi Jiu not be shocked by this suggestion?
