    Chapter 8: Tang Yuehua?

For a month and a half, Gu Ziyue had been selling Fu Lu (talismans) at the entrance of the Soul Beast Forest.

After establishing his sales on the first day, Gu Ziyue never lacked buyers.

Two teams permanently stationed there, specializing in helping others hunt Soul Beasts, became his biggest customers, purchasing his Purification Chant talismans before each hunting expedition.

The burly man who was the first to buy Gu Ziyue’s talismans was the captain of one of these teams.

On Douluo Continent, the currency exchange rate is 1 gold soul coin equals 10 silver soul coins, and 10 silver soul coins equals 1000 copper soul coins.

Ten talismans a day meant one gold soul coin.

Therefore, Gu Ziyue earned enough for the registration fee in just ten days.

This speed of making money was far superior to receiving the new Soul Master’s subsidy.

Even a great Soul Master could only receive 10 gold soul coins per month.

Gu Ziyue understood that it was his unique Martial Soul that allowed for this; other auxiliary Soul Masters didn’t have such an easy time making money.

Auxiliary Soul Masters, especially those who could create auxiliary tools or food, were comparatively easier to earn money than battle Soul Masters.

Ordinary battle Soul Masters could only honestly receive the newcomer’s subsidy.

However, after reaching level 30 (Soul Emperor), the Soul Master subsidy increased to a considerable 100 gold soul coins.

Reaching level 40 (Soul Sect Master), if one still wanted a soul coin subsidy, they had to officially register as an Imperial Soul Master to continue receiving more subsidies. They would also receive a noble title conferred by the empire, even if it was only the lowest-ranking baron, it still meant entering the noble class.

However, registering as an Imperial Soul Master meant an obligation to accept the empire’s assignments.

Those who didn’t want to choose the two major empires could register as Martial Soul Temple Soul Masters.

This was the choice of most Soul Masters, as the Martial Soul Temple offered more freedom compared to the two major empires.

After earning enough for the registration fee, Gu Ziyue didn’t leave immediately but continued selling talismans.

Money wasn’t just for spending; he needed some savings.

So, he only returned to Tianbao Academy on the official registration day.

“Tianbao Academy, this is the academy. Ordinary is good enough!”

    “Cousin, let’s go register!”

    “Alright!”

When Gu Ziyue arrived at the Tianbao Academy gate, he coincidentally met Tang Yuehua and Bai Lu, two sisters.

Seeing Tang Yuehua and Bai Lu walking towards him, Gu Ziyue’s eyes widened instantly.

    “Tang Yuehua and Bai Chenxiang?”

Gu Ziyue was truly dumbfounded. He never expected to see two people who looked so much like Tang Yuehua and Bai Chenxiang here.

However, the two women he saw were even more youthful and vibrant, full of girlish charm, and around his age.

“One of them might be Tang Yuehua, but the other definitely isn’t Bai Chenxiang!”

However, Gu Ziyue quickly realized that while the one resembling Tang Yuehua needed further confirmation, the other was definitely not Bai Chenxiang.

Bai Chenxiang was younger than the Shrek Seven Monsters; she definitely hadn’t been born yet!

Also, the girl who resembled Bai Chenxiang had a single ponytail, not a double ponytail.

    But the resemblance was striking.

So, this woman who looked so much like Bai Chenxiang was likely a blood relative.

Perhaps Bai Chenxiang’s mother, aunt, or cousin.

    “Pfft~”

“Cousin, look, there’s another fool here. He must be mesmerized by you!”

Bai Lu, walking towards Gu Ziyue, burst into laughter upon seeing his expression and whispered to Tang Yuehua.

    “I think it’s you…”

Tang Yuehua naturally disagreed, glancing at Gu Ziyue before whispering back to Bai Lu.

“It’s definitely you; I’m not as pretty as you…”

“There are more people in the sect who like you than me!”

    “…”

The two girls teased each other, walking past Gu Ziyue towards the admissions office.

Only after they passed did Gu Ziyue regain his senses.

Unaware of his gaffe, he followed them, watching their backs.

After guessing that one of them might be Tang Yuehua, Gu Ziyue didn’t stare at their backs brazenly but followed silently.

The appearance of the two girls, however, made him extremely curious whether one was actually Tang Yuehua.

“Tang Yuehua should be around this age, that fits!”

“Tang Yuehua and Bai Chenxiang are related; Bai Chenxiang’s grandfather is Tang Yuehua’s uncle, making Tang Yuehua Bai Chenxiang’s aunt.”

“If the other woman is indeed related to Bai Chenxiang, it’s normal for them to appear together!”

“One resembling someone could be a coincidence, but two women looking so alike isn’t likely a coincidence!”

Gu Ziyue pondered silently, almost certain that one of the girls was Tang Yuehua in her youth.

Silently following the two girls, Gu Ziyue’s thoughts became somewhat chaotic.

While unsure why Tang Yuehua was here, she was clearly here to study.

Could he seize this opportunity to approach her?

Even if he couldn’t win her over, making friends was fine.

Befriending someone of Tang Yuehua’s status would only benefit him.

“Name, age, Martial Soul, and Soul Power level!”

Soon, it was the two girls’ turn to register. The admissions teacher Gu Ziyue had seen earlier spoke directly to them.

    “Cousin, I’ll go first!”

Hearing the teacher, Bai Lu stepped forward.

“Bai Lu, 12 years old, Martial Soul: Sharp-tailed Swift, 22-level Battle Soul Master!”

Bai Lu spoke, showing her Martial Soul Temple registration certificate.

“12 years old and level 22?”

“Excellent! Welcome to Tianbao Academy. I’ll process your admission now!”

The admissions teacher was overjoyed. A 12-year-old level 22 student was a rare find for Tianbao Academy.

“No rush. We sisters came together. My cousin has to join before I will!”

Bai Lu was unhurried, bringing Tang Yuehua forward.

“Absolutely! I’ll process your cousin’s admission as well!”

The admissions teacher was slightly surprised, glancing at Tang Yuehua before readily agreeing.

Regardless of Tang Yuehua’s qualifications, her aura alone made him think it was worthwhile. After all, if they could recruit Bai Lu, what did an extra average student matter?

“Hello, teacher. I’m Tang Yuehua. My Martial Soul is the Wishful Ring, and I’m a level 9 Soul Master.”

Tang Yuehua reported her information, her voice slightly softer when stating her Soul Power level.

    “Indeed, it’s Tang Yuehua!”

Even so, Gu Ziyue, behind them, heard it, his eyes flashing brightly.
