    Chapter 55: Liu Erlong

Watching the mysterious Xun Yu, Nan Feihuang was too lazy to ask further. Lately, he’d become fond of Kong Ming’s (a brilliant strategist from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms) unique way of speaking— riddles, even if you asked. “Fine, then I’ll just wait and see the show. Let’s see how much fun Cao Cao’s (the main character in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, a powerful warlord) most trusted internal affairs talent can bring me.”

“You two, why did you suddenly stop talking?” Xue Ke asked in confusion.

From her perspective, she could only see Nan Feihuang and Xun Yu’s mouths moving slightly, followed by a staring contest.

Her skill was shallow, and her knowledge of martial arts was limited; she didn’t understand the technique of telepathic communication.

“Nothing, Princess, look, our opponents have appeared,” Nan Feihuang suddenly pointed to the large screen.

Two teams were displayed on the large screen.

Both were Silver Dou Soul teams, but not all members were Silver Dou Soul ranked; only some members within the teams had reached the Silver Dou Soul level.

The team ranking in the Great Dou Soul Arena wasn’t based on the average level, but on the highest level. The highest-ranked member determined the team’s overall ranking. Furthermore, if a team had at least one member who reached the Soul Sage level (30+ level), the team would be classified as a Soul Sage team, potentially facing teams composed entirely of Soul Sages.

The Great Dou Soul Arena, touted as the fairest place, was only relatively so; much also depended on luck.

“Lan Ba Team?” Yu Tianheng’s gaze was drawn to the name of the opposing team. Lan Ba—he felt like he’d heard those words before.

“Tianheng, did your Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon family come to the Dou Soul Arena to play?” Du Gu Yan asked.

“Of course not, but those words… Right, it’s my aunt!” A sudden realization dawned on Yu Tianheng. He remembered what his grandfather had told him about an aunt who ran a Soul Master academy in Tian Dou City under the name Lan Ba.

This academy was unique; it only accepted commoners, rejecting all nobles.

Yu Tianheng wasn’t very familiar with this aunt. She was his second grandfather’s illegitimate daughter, didn’t bear the Yu surname, and wasn’t even listed in the family genealogy. When he was very young, she seemed to have done something incredibly shameful, causing his second grandfather, Yu Luo Mian, to forcibly bring her back. He only had a few encounters with her during that time.

After she left the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon family, he hadn’t seen her again.

Seeing a team named Lan Ba here, it was most likely related to this aunt.

Sure enough, when the two teams met in the player tunnel, the leader of the opposing team was a middle-aged beauty. Yu Tianheng immediately greeted her, “Aunt!”

“You are… Tianheng?” The beauty asked tentatively. She hadn’t seen Yu Tianheng for a long time and hadn’t recognized him immediately.

“Yes, it’s me, Yu Tianheng. Long time no see, Aunt.”

The beauty nodded, “I never expected to meet you today. I hope we can have a good match.”

With that, she left with her seven companions.

It seemed their relationship wasn’t particularly close.

Du Gu Yan looked questioningly at Yu Tianheng, “Tianheng, do you know the opposing team leader?”

“Yes, she’s my aunt, Liu Erlong. She’s often away and rarely comes home, so I only know her, not very well. She doesn’t have many friends in the family, and she’s only close to my grandfather,” Yu Tianheng said.

The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon family was exceptionally proud. The family elders didn’t actively ostracize or suppress this illegitimate daughter, an outsider, but they certainly didn’t treat Liu Erlong as family either; at most, a distant relative living in their house.

Yu Yuanzhen was different. This Title Douluo valued family ties deeply. Even when Master was expelled from the family, he was opposed to it, but the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon family wasn’t solely ruled by him. He couldn’t change decisions made by all the family elders.

Regardless, Liu Erlong was the daughter of his younger brother, his niece, and he loved her.

This was why Liu Erlong, despite not being particularly fond of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon family, still valued it. In her heart, the two most important people to her—Yu Yuanzhen and Yu Xiaogang—were both part of that family.

“Alright everyone, the Dou Soul match is about to begin,” Qin Ming wasn’t particularly interested in the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon family’s affairs.

So what if they met a relative? It was just a friendly sparring match, not a fight to the death.

In the preparation room, Qin Ming said, “Everyone, I’ve observed the opposing team. They have three Soul Ancestors, and four Great Soul Masters. In terms of level, they surpass us. We only have Tianheng and Yanzi who have reached the Soul Ancestor level.”

Liu Erlong’s team consisted of four young men and women around the same age as everyone else, plus three young men around twenty years old.

Nan Feihuang recognized the four younger members. A large man, a man with a gloomy expression, a wolf-like person, and a beautiful girl.

This was clearly the future Shrek Second Team: Tai Long, Jing Ling, Huang Yuan, and Jiang Zhu. Liu Erlong was meticulously training them for the next Soul Master competition, hence her bringing them to the Great Dou Soul Arena for experience.

But at present, they were still young, not yet at the level of academy chiefs as they were in the original story.

The three young men around twenty years old were probably senior students about to graduate from Lan Ba Academy. This match was a practical training session with seniors leading their juniors.

“We’re not at a disadvantage. Although we have one less Soul Ancestor, Feihuang’s strength is no less than a Soul Ancestor,” Ye Lingling said.

Qin Ming nodded, “Lingling is right. During the Dou Soul match, Feihuang, you’ll handle that extra Soul Ancestor.”

“Don’t worry, Teacher Qin,” Nan Feihuang readily agreed; he welcomed the chance to fight a Soul Ancestor.

“One more point, their support has a high-level auxiliary Artifact Soul, the Healing Staff. I’ve seen records of this soul in the Tian Dou Royal Academy library. Its healing ability is among the top two of all healing souls, second only to the Nine-Heart Sea Lantern,” Qin Ming reminded everyone. “So, try to take her down first; otherwise, you’ll be exhausted, and it’ll turn into a war of attrition.”

Qin Ming’s strategy was a swift victory. Even if it turned into a war of attrition, he was confident in winning. After all, when it came to healing, the Nine-Heart Sea Lantern never backed down from any soul.

    “Yes, Teacher!” everyone responded.

Battles should be swift, defeating the opponent quickly; they weren’t interested in comparing healing abilities.

After discussing tactics, the time for the Dou Soul match soon arrived.

Urged on by the Dou Soul Arena DJ, the Sky Dou Battle Team of seven, for the first time, walked onto the Dou Soul Arena as a team.
