Feng Jie returned after inquiring and whispered in Xu Zhizhi’s ear, “Senior Qiu Xu developed a high fever last night after returning, and he was sent to the hospital. He can’t make it today.”

Xu Zhizhi’s eyes widened. The entire crew seemed to be fated for misfortune; she had just recovered her senior, and now he was in the hospital.

Zhang Yan looked at Xu Zhizhi as she arrived and forced out a weak smile. “Zhizhi, you’re here. Get ready; we’ll start filming soon. You have the script, right?”

“I do,” Xu Zhizhi replied, noticing the dark circles under Zhang Yan’s eyes, her brow furrowing. Was this crew really so ill-fated?

Today’s first scene involved Wen Shui showcasing her skills to gather her companions, aimed primarily to recruit them to gain strength to defeat the mastermind behind her wrongful imprisonment.

The three characters were code-named the Muscular Man, the Loli, and the Heartthrob.

Wen Shui had taken quite some time to find them, and now the key was to get these three on her side. According to the plot, Wen Shui had identified the opponent of the mastermind and secured a financial backer, so the location had to be a suitable office space.

Xu Zhizhi looked at the beautifully arranged scene and couldn’t help but admire the crew’s wealth; the set design was truly impressive.

After changing into a black hooded sweatshirt and finishing her makeup, Zhang Yan announced the start of filming.

The financial backer sat in the main seat, her back turned to everyone.

When the attendants opened the door, the three characters walked into the vast conference room. They looked around, their gazes landing on Wen Shui.

“You’re the one who gathered us here?” The muscular man, impulsive by nature, asked directly.

With her voluptuous figure clad in a black dress, red lips, black eyes, and fair skin, the Heartthrob gently nudged the muscular man with her hand and looked at Wen Shui. “No need to be so aggressive; don’t scare the others. Let me ask, what did you invite us for?”

The Loli, adorably dressed in a cute hoodie and skirt, with a bunny backpack, looked at Wen Shui with a confused expression. She blinked her eyes with a hint of doubt, making one feel an irresistible urge to confide in her.

Wen Shui turned around and removed her hood, revealing her clear and ethereal face. “I asked you to join me in defeating Wang Xue,” she said simply, with minimal decoration on her clothes, her black hair tied back neatly, a scar on her brow, and her tone bland.

The Heartthrob swayed her waist, intending to compliment Wen Shui’s looks, but the unexpected words made her swallow the praises.

Thinking of Wang Xue made a flash of fear cross her eyes, disappearing in an instant.

She looked at Wen Shui, sizing her up before shaking her head. “You’re too inexperienced. A little girl wants to challenge Wang Xue? That’s rather overestimating yourself. Do you have any idea how formidable Wang Xue truly is to say such things!”

The muscular man and the Heartthrob nodded in agreement.

“Yeah! You’re not thinking we’ll help you dig your own grave, are you?” the Loli chimed in, her words dripping with sarcasm.

Wen Shui remained unfazed by their comments. Her gaze swept over the three, and she smiled gently. “Wang Xue is indeed quite formidable; he can conquer the enemy without a fight! He can turn opponents into cowards in an instant!”

“Watch your mouth; you might not know the pain we’ve experienced!” The muscular man was the first to speak up.

Wen Shui’s eyes were soft but firm as she stared at him. She fixed her gaze on the muscular man for a moment before turning to the others, pacing towards them. “You all have nothing left to lose. Why are you still unwilling to take this chance?”

“You need to earn our trust first,” the Heartthrob directly replied, her eyes following Wen Shui’s movemen
