She left a message about a crime scene, which was quite similar to the one in the script, but the fictional elements in the script were just too exaggerated. It seemed to her that there was a certain intentionality in trying to cover up the obvious, which Xu Zhizhi found to be immature details. Excluding those aspects, the plot of the script was still worth watching.

Why did she closely examine the message? The other party sent over some descriptions, which gave a feeling of refinement and realism, almost like a real crime scene. Xu Zhizhi found it familiar yet couldn’t recall where she had seen this case before. After thinking thoroughly, she was unsure; there weren’t many cases she was familiar with. The cases she had helped with for Qin Su or the Capital City Police Department were mostly just profile sketches, and she hadn’t actually participated in the entire investigations. The only things she was adept at were criminal simulations and profiling, along with a certain intuitive sense that had been stamped by Qin Su.

She sensed that this was indeed reminiscent of a real crime scene.

After reading about seven or eight hundred words of description, Xu Zhizhi saw the other party inquire. The author wrote: “I think your reasoning makes a lot of sense. I’m willing to pay for an analysis of the comments I sent you. The price is negotiable, thank you very much. Phone (same as V-Chat): 138********.”

Xu Zhizhi looked at that string of numbers and thought for a moment. She felt there was no need to earn this money. She didn’t want to get involved. Xu Zhizhi prepared to exit and considered how to contact the website’s customer service to ask them to stop sending her red envelopes.

Just as Xu Zhizhi logged out, another red envelope came in. With no other option, she had to log back in and explain that she wasn’t in need of money and didn’t wish to get caught up in anything. The other party seemed to have been waiting online for Xu Zhizhi, stating urgently that they were truly desperate and almost going insane.

Xu Zhizhi thought the other person sounded a bit unhinged. Eventually, she found another SIM card, logged into that secondary V-Chat account, and added the other party. This V-Chat account was akin to a secondary account given to her by Yun Ziwei for online dealings.

As soon as the request was sent, the other party immediately approved.

“Hello, rich sister! Thank you! Please, I beg you, help me with something! As long as you can assist me, I will definitely pay you whatever you ask!”

The other party quickly showed they were typing, and then sent another message right away. Xu Zhizhi’s hand was still on the interface, unable to type back in comfort.

“What do you actually want to do? Are you tracking a murderer or trying to extract some material?”

“Just say it directly if there’s any problem.”

“I want to find the murderer who killed my sister. The case is real; please help me!”

Xu Zhizhi’s expression changed. Although she had suspected something like this, seeing it for real was still shocking.

“I’m just an ordinary person; I can’t help you. It would be better for you to request assistance from the police.”

“I’ve already asked the police, but they don’t have any clues. Every time I ask, the police just say they’re investigating. I don’t believe them anymore; my sister has been dead for so many days. If they can’t find the murderer soon, I’m afraid they might never find out.”

The other party was extremely agitated and sent a rapid stream of messages.

Xu Zhizhi fell silent for a moment, then typed her reply. “I truly am just an ordinary person; I’m not any better than the police.”

The other party remained silent for a while, before typing again.

“I only have this one sister left. My parents passed away two years ago. I thought I would spend my life with h
