Everyone stood up and walked toward the outside, looking out.

In the night, a man dressed in formal attire walked in with an umbrella.

After putting away the umbrella, he lifted his head and met the gazes of everyone in the hall.

After changing into a pair of slippers, Wang Rui looked at the man dressed as a police officer with confusion and asked, “What happened?”

“Mr. Wang, the director of the film crew your brother was part of has gone missing tonight. We are here to investigate and would like to request access to your home’s surveillance footage. We need to copy the recordings from yesterday and today.” The female police officer spoke first, her tone gentle.

Wang Rui was momentarily taken aback and exclaimed, “Gone missing?”

Wang Xingxing also expressed his surprise; he had never considered this possibility during their previous inquiries.

“Yes, we hope you can keep this confidential. We are still in the investigation process.” Another police officer added.

Wang Rui nodded. His expression was neutral, making it hard to tell whether he felt sad or happy. He simply said, “I’ll get you the footage. You don’t need to doubt Xingxing; he’s been at home all day. However, there are no cameras in his room. I’ve installed cameras in the hall and the garden outside, so it can easily be proven that he was at home.”

“Mr. Wang, you seem very calm!” the female police officer noted.

Wang Rui chuckled lightly and replied, “Yes, because I really dislike Xu Hua. He lacks any elegance in speech or action. He has a bad temper and can berate someone brutally over the slightest things, like a mad dog. It’s no surprise if something happens to someone like that.”

The two police officers exchanged glances, their eyes reflecting helplessness.

They had also noticed that Director Xu Hua seemed to offend everyone wherever he went.

Now that he was missing, it opened up a series of suspects.

However, those weren’t for them to judge; their immediate task was to find him and prevent any possible homicide.

The copying went quickly, just the footage from the last two days.

About ten minutes later, Xu Zhizhi and the others exited, heading back.

Xu Zhizhi put on her mask and changed her shoes at the entrance.

On a rainy day, it was customary to change shoes upon entering someone’s home; otherwise, you’d dirty their place.

As she bent down to put on her shoes, her gaze swept the floor and fell on the watermarks at the bottom of the shoe cabinet.

But she didn’t linger; after putting on her shoes, she left.

When she stepped outside, the rain had lessened, turning into a light drizzle.

Beside the villa was the garage. As they drove out, Xu Zhizhi’s eyes fell on a black car parked inside the garage.

However, soon they had driven beyond the range of the villa.

With the driver at the wheel, Xu Zhizhi and Feng Jie sat in the car, and Xu Zhizhi said, “This case should be connected to the previous ‘Happy Garden’ dismemberment case; it’s likely the work of the same person.”

    “Huh!” Feng Jie was stunned.

These two cases had no similarities whatsoever!

Xu Zhizhi sighed, deciding not to elaborate further, as her speculations lacked basis.

And then there was Wang Rui—he was too suspicious.

But right now, they were missing a connecting thread that could tie all the clues together. Once that was identified, everything would naturally fall into place.

As for Xu Hua, his situation looked grim.

Xu Zhizhi stayed up late searching, but ultimately she couldn’t hold on and fell asleep.

At four in the morning, she was jolted awake by the sound of her phone ringing.

After answering, Xu Hua’s voice came through on the other end.
