Just when Xu Zhizhi thought this scene was perfect, Li Feng spoke again, “Not weak enough. Her personality should reflect the weakness of a soft rice father (a term that denotes a man who relies on a woman for financial support).”

Xu Zhizhi stood on set, her expression complicated as she looked at Li Feng. After all, she was an actor, and her job was to get paid for her work; thus, Xu Zhizhi resigned herself to reshooting.

Every time she used her fraud skills, Xu Zhizhi had to ensure that the Malice Value obtained was above 10. This made it particularly exhausting for her to perform.

An older actor walked over to Li Feng, saying, “Don’t take out your dissatisfaction on the young girl! She’s quite good; it’s not like she had to parachute into the production.”

“No, I’m just pursuing perfection. Xu Zhizhi clearly hasn’t reached that level,” Li Feng replied, his gaze sharp and determined.

However, to avoid being accused of retaliatory dissatisfaction, Li Feng let Xu Zhizhi take a break for a while, and then awarded her with a scene.

Xu Zhizhi sat nearby, watching Li Feng award her scene. She observed how he described the situation and said directly, “What you mean is, I’m not fully immersed in the role, right?”

Li Feng nodded, “Yes, you always seem to fall just short of getting into the character, as if you’re hesitating about something.” He pondered for a moment, adding, “This is also the key reason you haven’t won the Best Actress award. Your acting is very good, and you blend into the character quite well, but you’re missing that last bit.”

Xu Zhizhi lowered her gaze, contemplating this slight observation. As for what she was hesitating about, she was well aware herself. She was inherently resistant to this role because she always felt that the storyline seemed to be a reenactment of something that had already happened.

Behind it lay many secrets. Xu Zhizhi couldn’t figure it out for a moment, which led to a hint of clarity mingling in her performance. She had been like this before as well, especially when portraying someone extremely cruel and vicious. Xu Zhizhi always hesitated, fearing she would assimilate into the character.

Li Feng’s sharp eye caught that minute difference. Xu Zhizhi had initially been confident that she could change the director’s perception, but after Li Feng put it so bluntly, she felt somewhat uncertain.

“Xu Zhizhi, since you have parachuted into the production without any auditions, you need to show all your strength.”

As Xu Zhizhi was lost in thought, Li Feng said in a calm tone.

Her long, crow-feather-like eyelashes fluttered gently. After thinking for a few seconds, she raised her gaze and replied with a soft, “Okay.”
