Volume 3, Co-habitation Era – Chapter 117, Xun’s Unusual Hobby

December 25, 1997, Christmas.

As the clock approached noon, a series of gunfire echoed through the crowd, and amidst the gasps, a middle-aged man with a crying face appeared, standing in the midst of the commotion. He was Jia Ming, with a faintly distorted expression.

This was a large playground owned by the Sha Zhu Gang.

The snow had stopped falling since morning, and the temperature was biting cold. Despite the chill, there were still over twenty people standing in front of a small shooting range, watching a girl dressed in a white feathered athletic suit, standing as still as a doll, firing a gun with impeccable technique. The iron plates inside the shooting range fell one by one, as if by magic.

This was, of course, a story that began in the morning…

The previous night was Christmas Eve, and the school had a half-day holiday. Today, being Christmas, was a full-day holiday. Ya Han had hosted a breakfast gathering at her villa, and afterwards, Ling Jing had headed to the martial arts school, while Sha Sha returned to her father’s place. Jia Ming, under the pretext of going home, had followed the two girls.

As it was Christmas, Jia Ming didn’t have much to do, and according to their previous agreement, Sha Sha’s father was the leader of the Black Society. To avoid any unexpected incidents, the three had separated, with Jia Ming following Sha Sha to the martial arts school for lunch, and then heading back to school to meet up. As they walked towards the school gate, they stumbled upon Yue Chi Xun sitting by the roadside.

With her straight black hair and snow-white clothes, she looked like a stunning Japanese beauty, gazing listlessly at the surroundings – the cars passing by, the gigantic advertisements, and the snowflakes falling gently. Ling Jing and Sha Sha approached her, and after learning that she had just finished breakfast and had nowhere to go, their sympathetic hearts were stirred.

As a foreigner in a strange land, she was unfamiliar with the place and had even been kidnapped and tortured before. The two girls decided to take her on a fun trip, and since Sha Sha’s father had recently taken over a large amusement park, they would take her to experience all the park’s attractions.

They went on a merry-go-round, pirate ship, and tunnel train, and by around 10 am, someone came to inform them that Sha Sha’s father had returned. Sha Sha hurried back to see her father, leaving Jia Ming to take care of Yue Chi Xun.

After a trip to the toilet, Jia Ming returned to find Yue Chi Xun surrounded by a crowd, holding a gun and firing away, with the small iron plates falling one by one. Her beauty and gun skills left the onlookers stunned, including the store owner, who was about to collapse from shock.

“Hey, stop, stop, stop…” Jia Ming rushed over, trying to stop her. “She’s my sister, don’t worry, she’s just very good at shooting. She might even represent the national team soon. Little sister, don’t play anymore, what do you want? Let the owner get it for you.”

The store owner finally breathed a sigh of relief, wiping away his cold sweat. “Anything, anything, just name it…”

As they continued their fun, Yue Chi Xun’s likes and dislikes were revealed – she wanted a kitten, but instead got a giant panda toy. With her holding the toy, she looked no longer like her usual self, but instead, appeared cute, childish, and softer. Jia Ming couldn’t help but glance back at her from time to time.

As they walked, Jia Ming asked her about her hobbies and interests, warning her that liking too many things was a problem, especially for a killer. However, he acknowledged that her fondness for dolls was acceptable, and even suggested she could read romantic novels or hold onto a doll boy.

After finishing their playtime, Jia Ming glanced at his watch and suggested they head back for lunch. Yue Chi Xun followed him, carrying the giant panda toy, her gaze fixed on Jia Ming’s back…

As they exited the amusement park, Jia Ming and Yue Chi Xun headed towards a coffee shop not far away. As they approached, the atmosphere seemed off.

The coffee shop, named “Cappuccino”, was a temporary stronghold for the Sha Zhu Gang, and with the ongoing power struggle between gangs, this place was currently a hotspot. Sand Sha’s father, Liu Zheng, would usually return to the gang’s headquarters on holidays, but this time, things were different.

At the coffee shop entrance, dozens of people were engaged in a standoff, with one side being the Sha Zhu Gang members and the other being the local gang members. Although the atmosphere seemed tense, Jia Ming understood that negotiations were underway inside.

As he entered the coffee shop, he smiled and asked, “Piao Ge, is Sha Sha inside?”

“Ah, Jia Ming.” Piao Ge glanced at Yue Chi Xun, holding the giant panda toy, and smiled. “Yes, she’s inside. You can go in, but be careful.”

“I see. We’ll just go in and find Sha Sha, then we’ll stay out of the way and won’t cause any trouble.”

As they walked in, the lights inside the coffee shop were already turned on, illuminating the tense atmosphere. A round table at the center of the room was surrounded by people from both sides, engaged in a heated argument. Yue Chi Xun’s presence drew the attention of everyone in the room.

At the small door on the other side, Sha Sha poked her head out and waved at them. Due to their arrival, the argument was momentarily interrupted, and the gang leaders began to shout at each other again.

One of the gang leaders, a bald man, spilled red wine on Yue Chi Xun’s hand, which was holding the panda toy. As he apologized and tried to wipe it clean, Yue Chi Xun dodged him, and the bald man attempted to touch her shoulder, but was lightly brushed off by her.

Liu Zheng spoke in a deep voice, “This is my guest. Baldy, you should be more careful.”

The bald man smiled, “Where did you find such a beautiful waitress? I’ll take her! Ha ha, don’t worry, I won’t hurt her. If you’re not careful, I’ll take your territory!”

As he spoke, he reached out to grab Yue Chi Xun’s panda toy, but she dodged him again. However, the toy was soon snatched away by one of his subordinates.

The atmosphere in the room became tense, and both sides knew that things were about to escalate. The bald man’s gang didn’t have the strength to rival the Sha Zhu Gang, but the Sha Zhu Gang was currently under pressure.

Yue Chi Xun’s eyes narrowed, and she walked towards the man holding her panda toy. As she approached, the toy was thrown away, and another person caught it, causing everyone to burst out laughing.

Turning back, Yue Chi Xun looked at Jia Ming, who was smiling foolishly along with the others. As he shook his head and walked towards Sha Sha, he made a simple gesture.
