Chapter 100: The Philosopher’s Stone Without Harry Potter
“Aaaaaah—Ugh waah—!”
In a short moment, Quirrell’s life force was completely devoured by Lord Voldemort. His flesh withered, and his whole body swayed precariously.
A dark mist floated out from Quirrell, coalescing into a human face—Lord Voldemort.
“Mas…Master!”
Quirrell reached out with his hands in a dramatic, exaggerated gesture (similar to the character Erkang’s iconic pose), looking at Voldemort with disbelief.
He hadn’t expected Voldemort to abandon him so readily.
“Dumbledore, we shall meet again soon.”
The dark mist that was Voldemort swirled in the air, then passed through the wall and left Hogwarts Castle.
Snape watched the direction Voldemort disappeared from, several times wanting to intercept him. But considering that even Dumbledore was helpless against Voldemort in this state, Snape could only restrain himself.
Bang!
Quirrell’s body, lacking support, fell to the ground.
Neither Snape nor Dumbledore paid him any attention.
Quirrell might be pitiable, but he also got what he deserved.
“He’s gone?” Snape asked softly.
It had been almost a year since Harry’s enrollment, and Snape had naturally noticed Dumbledore’s attitude towards Harry.
Just like Voldemort, the more Dumbledore valued Harry Potter, the more it proved Dumbledore’s powerlessness against Voldemort.
Snape strongly suspected that once Voldemort was resurrected, Dumbledore might not be able to contend with him.
Dumbledore stepped forward, first checking Quirrell’s condition, then walked to the Mirror of Erised and took out the Philosopher’s Stone.
“Quirrell was also a very talented wizard once.”
Hearing Dumbledore’s sigh, Snape sneered disdainfully.
Dumbledore put the Philosopher’s Stone in his pocket, “It seems Voldemort has abandoned the Philosopher’s Stone. This turmoil can finally come to an end.”
Snape glanced at the Philosopher’s Stone, then quickly looked away, “You mean, Voldemort has other ways to resurrect himself?”
“Perhaps!”
Dumbledore waved his wand, making Quirrell float in the air, “He claimed that he has gone further down the path of preventing death than anyone else… But I think resurrection requires certain conditions, otherwise he wouldn’t have waited until today.”
Conditions for resurrection?
Snape frowned slightly.
If Voldemort’s resurrection required conditions, he might come to him for help.
What should I do? Snape thought to himself.
As they were leaving the fourth-floor corridor, Dumbledore and Snape met Professor McGonagall hurrying towards them.
Seeing that the two were safe and sound, Professor McGonagall breathed a sigh of relief, “Thank goodness!”
“We kept you worried, Minerva,” Dumbledore said.
Professor McGonagall looked at Quirrell floating in the air, “I never imagined that he would… Albus, what do you plan to do with him?”
“Quirrell has unfortunately passed away.”
Dumbledore said: “I will inform Fudge. The theft from Gringotts should also be concluded.”
…
“A day’s work begins in the morning.”
Andy yawned incessantly, struggling to get out of bed.
His brown hair was messy and scattered in front of his eyes, each strand telling of a beautiful vision of sleeping for another five hundred years.
Andy shakily got out of bed, walked to the window and opened it. The March sunshine cast a warm glow on Andy.
Breathing the fresh air outside, Andy felt much more awake.
After washing up and tidying himself, Andy left the dormitory and went to the Great Hall with Hermione for breakfast.
Although he had guessed that last night would be exciting, he hadn’t expected it to be this exciting.
First, the castle’s curfew was lifted.
This meant that the crisis in the castle was over.
Many people were saying that the person who attacked Professor Don and Malfoy had been caught by Dumbledore.
Although the school hadn’t officially announced it, according to rumors, Professor McGonagall had subtly hinted this morning: the attacker’s identity would surprise everyone.
Given this, everyone started looking forward to tonight’s feast.
Secondly, Harry and Ron had lost points for Gryffindor again.
This time, each lost twenty points, adding up to forty points.
Hearing this, Andy couldn’t help but feel sorry for them.
They hadn’t even been at school for a year, and Harry and Ron alone had lost nearly two hundred points for Gryffindor.
One hundred points were deducted for their first night-time adventure, and forty points this time. Plus Snape’s targeting of Harry in Potions class, he would find any excuse to deduct points.
In a word, it was awful!
Fortunately, the incident where Harry and Ron snuck into the Forbidden Forest was suppressed by Dumbledore, and no points were deducted. Otherwise, Gryffindor’s points this year might break the historical record low.
Finally, some people connected the deduction of points from Harry and Ron with Professor McGonagall’s hint.
The attacker’s identity would surprise everyone.
Harry and Ron lost points again.
Think about it!
As for the logic behind this… young wizards lack logic.
They wouldn’t think that attacking professors and classmates would result in expulsion.
“Andy, was Quirrell caught?” Hermione asked with a joyful expression.
Quirrell’s arrest meant Andy was safe.
“I think so.”
Andy also breathed a sigh of relief. These days, Andy had been on edge, “Dumbledore is amazing, to have solved the Quirrell issue in less than a year.”
Hermione rolled her eyes at Andy.
Don’t think I didn’t hear you badmouthing Dumbledore.
Andy picked up a sausage and ate it in large bites.
This time, he managed to stay out of trouble. While not exactly a win, he at least wasn’t dragged into any strange events.
The essence of staying safe is – don’t move around, or you’ll easily fall.
“Since the crisis is over, we should focus on reviewing.”
The young witch calculated the days, “We have just over three months until the exams.”
Whenever she calculated time, the young witch would fall into a state of serious anxiety.
Andy: “…”
“I prefer learning new knowledge than reviewing.”
Andy felt he couldn’t be led around by the young witch, “As for the exams, a few points off the written test doesn’t matter.”
“That won’t do!”
Hermione slammed a notebook on the table, “I’ve organized your notes for History of Magic and Herbology. Make sure you memorize them.”
These were the two subjects Andy was worst at.
“Thanks!” Although it wouldn’t help much, Andy was still very grateful.
“Hey, you two!”
“You two are really close!”
Hearing that voice, Andy knew it was George and Fred.
“Hi, George, Fred.”
Andy greeted them, “Is there anything you need?”
These two rarely came without a reason – mainly because Andy’s relationship with them wasn’t that close.
“We actually need your help with something.”
