Hogwarts: This Wizard is Unscientific 101
by adminChapter 101: That’s What Classmates Are For – Helping Each Other Out
“What’s up?” Andy asked, tilting his head.
“Hee hee, it’s like this,” George said, a little embarrassed. “My sister wrote to me, saying Uncle Kyle bought a new flying broomstick. We were thinking, with the Quidditch finals only a few months away, so…”
“Whether we can…” Fred said, constantly hinting at Andy with his eyes.
Dad bought a new flying broomstick?
Where did he get the money?
Did he embezzle funds again?
Andy rolled his eyes. “Don’t forget, I’m a Ravenclaw, how could I possibly do something to help the enemy?”
“This doesn’t count as helping the enemy!”
“Because Ravenclaw has already been eliminated!”
George and Fred each said a sentence, directly blocking Andy’s words.
That’s right, Ravenclaw had already been eliminated!
“Okay! I’ll write back and ask,” Andy said dejectedly.
“Thanks!”
Fred patted Andy. “When we win the money, we’ll get you a double birthday present.”
With that, George and Fred left contentedly, leaving Andy sitting there sighing.
“Don’t be discouraged, little junior. When I join the team next year, I will definitely lead Ravenclaw to victory.”
Hearing the voice from across, Andy looked up.
Cho Chang.
Or rather, Chang Cho.
She was a second-year Ravenclaw student, the only Chinese student in the school, and Andy’s fellow countryman from his past life.
Andy wasn’t very familiar with her, only having met a few times in the common room and exchanged greetings.
“Then you have to work hard,” Andy smiled.
Since the conversation had started, Andy simply asked a few questions that had been weighing on his mind. “Cho, does China have witches?”
“Probably!”
Cho Chang said uncertainly. “My family immigrated to England a long time ago, and I’m the only witch in the family. But I think, since I can learn magic, then there must be witches in China.”
Andy nodded; that makes sense.
Since Cho Chang is a witch, there must be witches in China.
Hermione also looked curious. “I heard that the situation in China is different from ours. I wonder what the magical world over there is like.”
Maybe it’s called the Cultivation World (a reference to Chinese fantasy fiction where cultivators practice magic)?
Andy was also curious. “After graduation, I want to travel around and see what the magical world is like in other countries.”
Hermione looked forward to it. “We can make a travel plan first.”
“Hmm… let’s go from Europe to Asia, then take a boat to Egypt… what do you think?” Andy suggested.
“I need to look at a map before I can decide.” Hermione decided to go to the library to look up information after dinner.
Cho Chang looked at Andy, then at Hermione.
Clearly, the two of them were just talking to her, but as they talked, they got together.
“Kids these days are so precocious!” Cho Chang thought.
As Andy would say, this is nothing precocious.
In ancient times, they could get engaged in a couple of years.
Even in modern times, there are plenty of early bloomers; even elementary school students have partners.
“Cho, do you have plans to go back to China during the summer vacation?” Andy wanted to find someone to act as a proxy buyer.
“I don’t know.”
Cho Chang shook her head. “That depends on my family.”
“If you have plans to return to China, I’d like you to buy something for me,” Andy said a little shyly.
“Sure! If I plan to go back, I’ll definitely let you know,” Cho Chang said generously.
“Thanks!” Andy expressed his gratitude.
The three of them chatted about other topics afterward. Andy was very interested in the Chinese magical world, but unfortunately, Cho Chang didn’t know much about it either.
Andy wanted to go to China, but no family would let a teenager go out alone.
While Andy was having a pleasant chat, unbeknownst to him, a little male wizard on the Hufflepuff side had his eyes practically glued to them.
After finishing breakfast and the gossip from last night, Andy contentedly prepared to go to the library.
“Hi, Andy!” Cedric Diggory, as if by chance, passed by Andy casually.
“Hi, Cedric, good morning.” Andy greeted him.
The Diggory family were also Andy’s neighbors. Cedric was a very excellent young wizard, and his father was a show-off dad.
“Are you going to the library?” Cedric came closer.
Andy raised his eyebrows in surprise. “Yeah, I’m going to read for a while.”
“As expected of a Ravenclaw, you love studying.” Cedric complimented him, making even himself a little embarrassed.
Hermione chuckled softly.
She had already seen that Cedric had something to ask for, and it was something difficult to bring up.
“Andy, we’re neighbors, and I’m two years older than you. If you don’t understand anything in your studies, you can ask me.”
At this point, Cedric lowered his voice, “Even helping you with your homework is fine!”
Too obvious!
“You’re too obvious!”
Andy sighed. “Tell me, what do you need my help with?”
“Hee-hee-hee-hee…”
Cedric looked a little shy, his voice so low it was almost inaudible. “At breakfast in the Great Hall, who was that Asian girl you were chatting with?”
“You mean Cho Chang?”
Hermione looked at Cedric with a mischievous expression. “Oh~ I understand, you want to get to know her!”
“Cho Chang? What a beautiful name,” Cedric was smitten.
Andy: “…”
Happening to pass by a window, Andy glanced at the scenery outside.
Understood!
Spring has arrived, and it’s the season of rebirth.
Andy patted Cedric. “Good brother! I chatted with Cho about the Chinese magical world. If you’re interested, you can research this area.”
“Thanks, Andy!”
Cedric was grateful. “Your birthday is coming up soon, right? What do you like? Tell me.”
Andy was also satisfied.
See? That’s what having intuition is all about!
Then think about his three annoying roommates, even buying snacks for girls is too much for their allowance.
Look at Cedric, just for the chance to get to know Cho Chang, he’s willing to spend a fortune.
Andy wouldn’t be surprised if Cedric won the girl’s heart.
“Also, Cho plans to participate in the Ravenclaw Quidditch team selection next year. Aren’t you a Hufflepuff suitor? This is your chance too.”
Seeing that Cedric was quite clever, Andy was willing to say more. “I’ll find an opportunity; me, Hermione, you, and Cho Chang, the four of us will get together. Then Hermione and I will talk, and you two, to avoid embarrassment, will only have to talk to each other.”
“Good brother, thanks!” Cedric was grateful.
The Chinese magical world, and Quidditch…
Cedric already knew what topics to prepare.
Andy said pointedly, “Cedric, I know a secret passage to Hogsmeade.”
“Did George tell you?”
Cedric patted Andy. “I’ll treat!”
