Chapter 104: You Are the Future Dark Lord

    “Contagious Disease!”

Andy waved his wand, and a blade of grass beside Malfoy withered rapidly. A large patch of red pustules swelled on the yellowed leaves, looking extremely disgusting.

    Dark magic!

Malfoy’s eyes widened in terror; he propped himself up with his hands and retreated.

    Andy waved his wand again.

    “Incendio!” (A fire-producing spell)

Flames erupted, instantly obliterating the traces of dark magic.

Andy looked at Malfoy, “Next time, I won’t be so polite.”

There’s an art to speaking. Often, actively trying to befriend someone is actually a show of weakness. But if you say, ‘I won’t bother you anymore,’ it creates a psychological suggestion for the other person—if you disagree, I will bother you again.

Of course, not everyone can pull off this persona.

Andy’s image at school is that of a wildly enthusiastic magic prodigy. He not only possesses outstanding magical talent but also an insatiable thirst for knowledge. Just look at Andy’s daily life.

Besides classes, Andy only has two extracurricular activities. Either he’s in the library reading, or he’s practicing magic in the abandoned classroom on the sixth floor of the castle.

After nearly a year of practicing magic in the abandoned classroom, it’s not surprising that he was discovered.

Undeniably, Andy will become a powerful wizard. With the Malfoy family’s influence, they might fear a powerful wizard, but they wouldn’t be overly terrified. But a powerful Dark wizard is different.

A Dark wizard won’t reason with you.

Malfoy never imagined that the model student the professors raved about was secretly studying Dark magic.

“You… you actually mastered Dark magic!?” Malfoy stared at Andy, his eyes flickering.

Born into an ancient pure-blood family with a long history, Malfoy didn’t have the same aversion to Dark magic as ordinary wizards. On the contrary, he actually admired it.

Many say that studying Dark magic corrupts the mind. But what truly corrupts the mind is the frequent use and in-depth study of Dark magic. Lucius Malfoy knew a lot of Dark magic, but Malfoy didn’t see his father acting unlike a normal person.

The thought of Andy’s fervent attitude towards magic sent chills down Malfoy’s spine. This is a future Dark Lord!

Malfoy didn’t know how outstanding Voldemort was during his school days, but he knew how talented Andy was. It seemed like Andy could master any spell effortlessly.

At the beginning of the school year, some might have made excuses, saying that Andy had practiced magic before school. But by now, the first-year witches and wizards have been studying for almost a year—yet they haven’t surpassed Andy’s performance upon enrollment.

Malfoy even felt that even second and third-year students weren’t as skilled as Andy.

“I can tell you, but you can’t tell anyone else.”

Malfoy relented. He felt that groveling before the future Dark Lord wasn’t shameful. If Andy wasn’t so young, and his future achievements weren’t yet apparent, Malfoy might have even considered pledging allegiance early.

Just looking at Andy’s reckless demeanor, Malfoy felt that the future wizarding world might not be peaceful.

“Of course, this is our little secret.” Andy put away his wand, stepped closer, and extended his hand towards Malfoy, his face resuming its usual amiable expression.

Malfoy’s face was complicated; after a moment of hesitation, he grabbed Andy’s hand and stood up.

“Do you know who Quirrell is?” Malfoy suddenly asked.

He wanted to test Andy. If Andy didn’t know much, he could still conceal some information detrimental to him.

    Andy said nonchalantly, “Voldemort’s man?”

“You… how dare you say…” Malfoy’s face was filled with terror, as if Andy had done something dreadful.

    “Voldemort is outdated.”

Andy said indifferently, “Even if he’s still alive, I wouldn’t take him seriously. Compared to Grindelwald, the original Dark Lord, Voldemort is simply insignificant.”

After all, Quirrell was already dead, and Voldemort was only a ghost now; bragging wouldn’t attract Death Eaters.

Malfoy calmed down. He had heard the name Grindelwald, but he didn’t know much about him. This name, like Voldemort’s, was taboo in the wizarding world. And Grindelwald’s era was too long ago, and Malfoy wasn’t interested in learning about it.

However, hearing Andy speak so highly of Grindelwald, Malfoy decided to learn more about Grindelwald’s exploits during the summer holidays.

“That night, on the fourth floor of the castle, I saw you enter the restricted area.” Andy added.

“You were there too?” Malfoy was startled.

    Andy didn’t speak.

After a moment of silence, Malfoy said awkwardly, “I remember the experiences of the past few months. That feeling… it’s like I was supposed to do those things.”

“After my memories were restored, recalling the experiences of the past few months felt like… like watching someone else’s life. I knew it wasn’t me, but it was me… anyway, it felt strange.”

    Andy nodded slightly.

Malfoy didn’t give many details, but Andy had a basic understanding of the feeling.

    “Like a dream?” Andy asked.

Malfoy thought for a moment, then shook his head. “It felt very real, like watching another me.”

Memory modification is different from the Imperius Curse. The Imperius Curse completely controls another person. Memory modification, however, plants a false memory, but the person is essentially still free.

Looking at Malfoy, he didn’t seem to have any aftereffects.

    Memory magic…

Andy pondered. This type of magic, under specific circumstances, could be incredibly effective. Comparable to the brainwashing effect of [Professor Slughorn, a reference to Severus Snape’s ability to manipulate memories].

Andy then asked some more specific questions, and Malfoy answered truthfully.

To Malfoy’s relief, Andy didn’t press him on the details of his altered memories. Although Malfoy admired Voldemort, he didn’t want others to think he was connected to him. After all, Voldemort was already in decline. The Malfoy family had a bit of a fence-sitting tendency.

    “Thanks!”

Andy looked at Malfoy, suddenly lowering his voice, “I know your father is a Death Eater, and the Dark Mark should still be on his arm, right?”

Andy walked in front of Malfoy and patted him on the shoulder. “Now we both know each other’s secrets.”

With that, Andy walked towards the castle.

Malfoy’s face was pale, his body unsteady. He opened his mouth to speak, looking at Andy’s back, but ultimately didn’t say anything.

    “Phew—”

Andy breathed a sigh of relief. The task of intimidating the little tyke was complete. He believed that after today, even if Malfoy harbored any resentment, he wouldn’t dare tell his father, right?
