Hogwarts: This Wizard is Unscientific 106
by adminChapter 106: Andy: I Have Prosopagnosia
After discussing Quirrell’s matter, Dumbledore briefly mentioned the Defense Against the Dark Arts substitute teaching issue.
Andy finally understood why Snape was so happy.
He had secured the substitute teaching position for first and second years again.
Sure enough, when Dumbledore announced Snape’s appointment as the substitute teacher for first and second years, almost all the Gryffindor first and second-year students were petrified.
Harry and Ron were like frostbitten eggplants, and Neville looked like he was about to cry.
The other students also had bitter expressions on their faces; one might think a family member had passed away.
Andy found it hard not to suspect that this was Dumbledore’s mischievous hobby.
Couldn’t he see that Snape was constantly targeting Harry?
Or was it a case of “the special love given to the special one”? (Implying a sarcastic tone)
When Dumbledore finished his speech, the entire Great Hall erupted in noise.
Everyone was buzzing with discussion.
Quirrell was a Dark Wizard; he had attacked Professor Lockhart and Malfoy.
This matter was unbelievable no matter how you looked at it.
The Philosopher’s Stone was also a topic worth discussing; it was a symbol of endless wealth and immortality.
However, the most discussed topic was how Quirrell managed to do all this.
Gringotts and Hogwarts were known as the safest places in the British wizarding world.
But Quirrell not only managed to break into Gringotts but also launched attacks on Hogwarts three times.
Professor Lockhart being attacked in the Forbidden Forest was one thing, but the two attacks on Malfoy occurred within Hogwarts.
How did Quirrell manage to do all this?
The loudest discussions were coming from the Slytherin table.
Even sitting at the Ravenclaw table, Andy could hear Malfoy boasting loudly about his role in driving Quirrell away. He claimed he had discovered Quirrell’s flaws long ago but lacked evidence.
Andy glanced over; quite a few Slytherins were cheering him on.
After all, this was a rare moment of glory for Slytherin, and even rarer, they represented justice this time.
As for Gryffindor…
With Dumbledore’s final verdict, the ‘suspicion’ on Harry and Ron was cleared, but those who had wrongly accused them obviously didn’t care.
Moreover, Harry and Ron did deduct one hundred and forty points from Gryffindor, a fact that wouldn’t make their situation any better this year, even with the cleared suspicion.
They were truly two poor little guys.
Andy, for once, was unusually quiet.
Quirrell was dead, and Hogwarts was safe for this year. The two pressing matters were to plan for next year and arrange a meeting with Cho Chang and Cedric.
Andy had been at Hogwarts for almost a year, and during this time, he had been observing the Hogwarts students.
Among the upper years, if anyone had decent magical talent, it would probably be Cedric Diggory and Percy Weasley.
However, Percy Weasley was the type who craved power; Andy couldn’t get along with him.
Cedric Diggory was alright, but he had a rather carefree personality and wasn’t the type who would sit in a laboratory researching magic.
So Andy needed to observe him for a while longer.
Speaking of which, the person Andy cared most about was Cho Chang.
If possible, Andy wanted to learn about the Chinese wizarding world (the cultivation world?) through Cho Chang.
Therefore, the upcoming meeting was crucial.
He had to somehow coax Cho Chang back to China to get some information on the Chinese magical world.
Andy wasn’t against going himself, but a glance in the mirror would reveal that his current skin color might lead to rejection.
As for next year’s plan…
“The Philosopher’s Stone, the Prisoner of Azkaban, the Chamber of Secrets, the Deathly Hallows… what else was there…”
“I think it’s the Order of the Phoenix and the Half-Blood Prince.”
Andy hadn’t read the Harry Potter books and had only seen the first movie.
“So… what was the second movie about?” Andy wondered.
It was said that after Harry Potter started school, Hogwarts never had a peaceful year; something always happened.
“Next year… should be the Chamber of Secrets?”
Andy scratched his head, “Is it Slytherin’s Chamber of Secrets?”
Hermione looked at Andy strangely. What was wrong with this kid? Why was his expression changing so rapidly?
“Andy, what’s wrong?” the young witch asked with concern.
“Nothing, I’m just thinking about some things,” Andy replied.
By next year, Andy wouldn’t have any plot to follow.
This was why Andy wasn’t worried about the butterfly effect.
With this year’s experience, even if next year’s situation was more complicated, Andy believed he could handle it perfectly.
Andy’s confidence surged.
“So weird,” Hermione mumbled.
…
The feast ended, and the students gradually left the Great Hall.
Perhaps they had been living too comfortably; after discussing for so long, their enthusiasm remained undiminished.
Everyone was speculating how Quirrell managed to repeatedly break into Gringotts and Hogwarts.
Undoubtedly, Quirrell would be the center of Hogwarts’ gossip for a long time to come.
When leaving the Great Hall, Andy bumped into Harry and Ron.
Harry looked hesitant, and Ron had a conflicted expression.
Andy quickly averted his gaze.
This was perfect; you two better not try to reconcile.
“Hi, Cho!” Blending into the Ravenclaw group, Andy ‘coincidentally’ walked to Cho Chang’s side.
“Hi Andy, Hermione,” Cho Chang greeted warmly.
Cho Chang had a good impression of Andy; he was the first student to show curiosity about China.
“Andy, how do you think Quirrell managed to attack Hogwarts?” Eating gossip was everyone’s hobby, and Cho Chang was no exception.
“Maybe he made some preparations before leaving Hogwarts,”
Andy ‘guessed,’ “After all, his purpose in coming to Hogwarts wasn’t to attack but to get the Philosopher’s Stone. Before he was expelled, he must have made some arrangements.”
Cho Chang nodded, “That makes sense; it’s hard for outsiders to infiltrate Hogwarts…”
At this point, Cho Chang glanced at Hermione beside Andy and raised an eyebrow at Andy.
Andy looked back and immediately felt a chill down his spine.
“I’ll go ahead,” Cho Chang said with a smile, waving her hand.
Andy: “…”
Damn it! He focused on building relationships but ignored other problems.
“She’s pretty, right? Many people say so,” Hermione said casually.
“Ah?”
Andy put on a confused expression, “I have prosopagnosia with foreigners; I can’t tell if she’s pretty or not.”
“Hermione, do me a favor.”
Andy leaned close to Hermione and whispered, “I’m very interested in the Chinese magical world; after all, it’s an ancient country with a five-thousand-year history. There must be many secrets hidden there.”
Andy made a ‘V’ sign in his heart. Not bad!
