Hogwarts: This Wizard is Unscientific 89
by adminChapter 89: Snape, Are You a Bloodhound?
Following Andy’s previous deduction, Quirrell’s attack on Malfoy was to use Malfoy’s departure from school and hospitalization as an opportunity to return to Hogwarts through him.
However, Quirrell didn’t return to the castle through Malfoy, but instead hid in the Forbidden Forest.
So what was the purpose of his attack on Malfoy?
It couldn’t have been simply for revenge, could it?
Andy quickly thought of something.
During the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, when passing notes with Malfoy, Malfoy had said he wanted to talk to Andy privately afterwards.
But that never happened.
Andy had previously suspected that something was wrong with Malfoy, but hadn’t paid too much attention.
But now, looking back, Andy realized something was amiss.
“What if…Malfoy’s memory was tampered with?”
Andy reviewed the entire incident again.
Quirrell was driven away, Malfoy was attacked, the Ministry of Magic sent people to investigate the fourth-floor corridor, and Professor Thorne was attacked.
“Hmm…”
During the time Malfoy was attacked, everyone’s attention was focused on him.
Although Andy didn’t investigate Malfoy, judging from various clues, Malfoy should have been fine.
In other words, Quirrell didn’t do anything to Malfoy.
To this day, months have passed, and probably few people would pay attention to Malfoy anymore.
Until today, Professor Thorne was attacked in the Forbidden Forest, drawing everyone’s attention there.
But…what if Quirrell’s backup plan was Malfoy?
Andy furrowed his brows, feeling somewhat uneasy.
To be fair, Andy didn’t consider himself a good person.
But Malfoy’s attack was indeed inextricably linked to Andy.
If Andy hadn’t encouraged Malfoy to drive Quirrell away, maybe Malfoy would still be carefree, opposing Harry.
Andy didn’t regret his actions. If Malfoy died, Andy would at most feel a little guilty.
But Malfoy wasn’t dead, and he might be Quirrell’s backup plan…
Andy’s brows were tightly knit. Should he help that kid?
“Sigh!”
Andy sighed, “I’m too kind-hearted.”
Andy decided to write a letter to Dumbledore, reminding him to pay attention to Malfoy’s situation. As for what happened after that, Andy was powerless.
Night fell, and the Ravenclaw common room was empty.
Andy pushed open the door of the boys’ dormitory and waved his wand to ignite the fire in the fireplace.
Laying the parchment on the table, Andy dipped his quill in the ink and wrote an anonymous letter to Dumbledore.
After writing the letter, Andy carefully checked it again. Making sure there were no problems, Andy extinguished the fireplace, and left the common room.
He tapped his body with his wand, and Andy’s figure gradually disappeared.
He walked down the stairs. To be safe, Andy planned to send the letter to Dumbledore that night.
Tap tap tap—
Just as he reached the fourth floor of the castle, Andy heard a clear sound of footsteps in the empty corridor.
Andy’s hair stood on end!
Tap tap!
The footsteps grew closer.
Andy leaned against the wall, holding his breath, and looked down. The Disillusionment Charm was still working.
This relieved Andy.
During movement, the Disillusionment Charm would have some flaws. But now, it was pitch black, and the charm was surprisingly effective.
Even a great wizard like Dumbledore might not be able to spot Andy in this environment with just his eyes.
Tap tap—
The footsteps drew closer. Seeing who it was, Andy’s pupils constricted instantly.
It was Malfoy!
Malfoy didn’t seem to be controlled. His spirit was high, his face was filled with excitement and fervor, and he held his wand, swaggering in the dark corridor, seemingly unconcerned about being discovered.
Andy leaned against the wall, carefully avoiding making any noise.
Malfoy soon reached the entrance to the restricted area on the fourth floor, looked around, and then went straight in.
“Hiss—”
Andy gasped.
This definitely wasn’t the Imperius Curse. Even Lord Voldemort at his peak couldn’t control someone for so long with the Imperius Curse.
To use the Imperius Curse to control someone for a long time, one would have to cast the spell periodically.
If it wasn’t the Imperius Curse, then it was memory modification.
This was even more frightening than the Imperius Curse.
The Imperius Curse only controls a person, but memory modification can completely change a person.
Nobody likes having their memory modified.
Andy hesitated for a moment, but still chose not to follow.
Andy was a coward. Without absolute certainty, Andy didn’t want to risk his life.
Someone who has died once doesn’t become carefree; they only cherish their life more.
Especially in this world with magic, Andy still wanted to live well and witness the limits of magic.
“Maybe…Dumbledore already knows.” Looking at the portraits on both sides of the corridor, Andy was thoughtful.
Touching the letter in his pocket, Andy thought for a moment, then decided to go to the owlery and send the letter to Dumbledore.
Whoosh—
A slight sound suddenly came from the darkness.
Damn!
Andy cursed under his breath and quickly leaned against the wall.
A dark figure silently approached from a distance, holding a wand that emitted a soft light.
The person had greasy black hair, wore a black wizard’s robe, and floated closer in the darkness, like a huge black bat.
It was Snape!
Andy dared not even breathe.
Being caught by Dumbledore was fine, but if he were caught by Snape, this old guy would definitely deduct fifty points from him.
Andy didn’t care about losing points, nor did he care about the House Cup, but Andy didn’t want to be publicly shamed.
“Who’s there?”
Snape stopped, his eyes suspiciously scanning his surroundings, his high, hooked nose twitching slightly.
Are you a dog? Your nose is so sensitive?
Andy didn’t believe he could smell him, and remained silent against the wall.
Snape sniffed twice, finally fixing his gaze on the area where Andy was standing.
He pointed his wand at that area, “Who’s there? Come out!”
This was Hogwarts. Snape was worried about hurting a young wizard, so he didn’t attack directly.
If he were a Death Eater, he would have blasted a Stunning Spell directly.
Seeing that he couldn’t hide anymore, Andy tapped himself with his wand, removing the Disillusionment Charm.
“Collins?”
Snape didn’t seem surprised; he even seemed slightly excited. “What are you doing here?”
The current House Cup points had Ravenclaw in the lead; if he deducted a few tens of points from Andy, wouldn’t Slytherin achieve a seven-year winning streak?
In the wizarding world, seven is a magical number.
Snape had always dreamed of achieving a seven-year winning streak.
