Hogwarts: This Wizard is Unscientific 94
by adminChapter 94: Shocking! Malfoy Was Attacked by Harry Again
“Ms. Ravenclaw also wrote poetry?”
Andy pulled the book from the shelf, teasing, “Quite romantic.”
He flipped through it casually.
A witch’s poetry naturally differs from a Muggle’s (non-magical person), as their worldviews are different, and their perspectives on things naturally vary.
From a Muggle’s perspective, Ms. Ravenclaw’s poetry has a fairy-tale quality, like a naive princess expressing her emotions.
But from a wizard’s perspective, traces of magic are everywhere.
Take this poem, for instance: The gist is, “I’m in a good mood today, it’s snowing, and the snow turns into flowers when it lands on the ground.” Isn’t that Transfiguration?
Another poem goes something like this: “I know many people, but I don’t want to know their true thoughts, because it would make me sad.” Isn’t that the effect of Legilimency?
Andy had studied Legilimency materials when he was learning Occlumency (a defensive magic against Legilimency).
Legilimency is a dangerous magic; without a good mindset, abusing Legilimency can lead to autism. Severe cases may even result in suicide.
After a cursory glance, Andy had to admit, Ms. Ravenclaw was quite romantic. She incorporated many small spellcasting techniques and the dangers of certain magics into her poetry.
“Hmm…” Andy closed the book, pondering silently.
Legend has it that Ms. Ravenclaw died of illness. It’s said her daughter was still young at the time.
In other words, Ms. Ravenclaw may have been only in her forties when she died.
Even in the Muggle world, that’s considered a premature death, let alone in the long-lived wizarding world.
Andy had lived in the wizarding world for over ten years and had never heard of a wizard dying of illness. Patients at St. Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries mostly suffered from botched spells, magical accidents during research, or battle injuries.
“Cause of death unknown…”
Andy believed more that Ms. Ravenclaw died in a serious magical accident, rather than from illness.
“Sigh!”
Andy sighed, pulled out a few more books, and found a seat to continue reading.
A shadow seemed to flash before his eyes. Andy looked up, “Ms. Grey?”
After their last conversation, Andy hadn’t seen Ms. Grey again. He felt she was avoiding him.
“You still haven’t given up?” Ms. Grey floated in the air, a hint of arrogance in her expression.
Andy touched his nose, “I’m a wizard; I naturally have to do things befitting my status.”
Andy already suspected Ms. Grey’s identity. He was searching for something left behind by her mother, so encountering Ms. Ravenclaw’s daughter naturally made him feel a little uneasy.
“Befitting my status?” Ms. Grey had never heard such a statement before.
“Have you seen the Ministry of Magic employees?”
Andy asked a question, then answered himself, “In my opinion, those people are just Muggles who can use magic; they’re not really wizards.”
Ms. Grey began to understand.
The original founders of Hogwarts were like that too. Though they established Hogwarts for their ideals, they never gave up their own magical research.
Andy continued, “I believe researching magic and pursuing the mysteries of ancient wizards is what a wizard should do.”
Ms. Grey slowly turned, her gaze sweeping across the rows of bookshelves in the library, “Searching like this, you won’t find anything.”
Andy: “?”
“Ms. Ravenclaw valued knowledge and wisdom more,” Ms. Grey said.
Andy’s expression froze. This was the second time Ms. Grey had said this.
But Andy still couldn’t grasp what knowledge and wisdom referred to.
Logically, a young witch like Hermione should be very much to Ms. Ravenclaw’s liking.
This was why Andy immediately believed Hermione when she claimed to have read every book in the library in one night.
Seeing Andy still clueless, Ms. Grey shook her head, her eyes seeming to say, *A hopeless case*.
Ms. Grey left, but Andy had lost interest in reading.
Knowledge and wisdom…
This was already the second hint from Ms. Grey.
“Even Dumbledore couldn’t find it, so Ms. Ravenclaw didn’t use common magic,”
Andy thought to himself, “So… either it meets a certain condition, or it needs to trigger some kind of magical mechanism.”
…
After an unknown amount of time, the library door opened, and Andy realized he had been sitting in the library all night.
Andy cursed under his breath, blaming himself for being carried away by the legends.
He met Hermione in the common room, and the two went to the Great Hall for breakfast.
As soon as they arrived at the Great Hall, Andy got a huge scoop of gossip.
Malfoy was attacked by Harry again!
To be precise, Malfoy was attacked again, but the assailant is currently unknown.
Harry and Ron were also in the Great Hall, eating at the Gryffindor table.
Harry currently had the air of Lord Voldemort himself; no one dared to sit within three meters of him.
Hermione reproachfully glared at Andy: “Look, Malfoy is taking the fall for you again.”
Andy muttered, “Think about it, if I hadn’t devised the plan to drive Quirrell out of Hogwarts, maybe more than just Malfoy would have been attacked.”
Hermione thought about it and immediately believed Andy’s sophistry.
“I’m not saying you did anything wrong,”
Hermione also lowered her voice, “But… never mind! Malfoy being attacked is better than you being attacked.”
Andy stared at Hermione in shock.
Is this still the goody-two-shoes from the original story?
Your character’s collapsed!
Andy immediately thought of his mother, Helen. She was a proper Gryffindor in her youth, but after getting together with his father, Kyle, she immediately abandoned her Gryffindor beliefs.
Thinking about Helen’s year…
Normal Gryffindor: Graduate, then fight Voldemort.
Helen: Run for your life.
According to Helen, only one person from her Gryffindor year sided with Voldemort, and it was supposedly someone from the Black family.
According to Helen, she’d suspected the Black family were no good for a long time.
“What are you looking at me for?” Hermione was somewhat annoyed; she didn’t know why she said that.
“Nothing, it’s fine,” Andy was very satisfied. “You’re fitting our Collins family tradition perfectly.”
Just as they were speaking, Filch suddenly walked into the Great Hall and posted a parchment on the wall.
A bunch of young witches and wizards rushed over.
Seeing his three roommates go over, Andy didn’t rush to join the crowd.
Soon, the three roommates withdrew from the crowd.
Before Andy could ask, the three of them walked over together.
Anthony grinned mischievously, “Andy, from now on, the three of us will follow you guys.”
