  ”I was afraid I wouldn’t make it in time today,” Bai Liu explained, adding, “My mom is coming to keep me company tonight.”

  Liu Chang’an calmly sat on the chair by the window, charging his phone, before closing his eyes and resting.

  Bai Liu looked at Liu Chang’an, then turned to gaze at the door, scratching her head. It was as if she was trying to summon her courage. Liu Chang’an was not the type to act according to conventions, and most people wouldn’t dare to intrude, instead politely excusing themselves, saying they didn’t want to disturb her.

  Would Liu Chang’an be polite? He wouldn’t bother with pleasantries, only doing what he felt like doing at the time.

  ”How was your exam today?” Bai Liu asked, trying to make small talk, as she couldn’t just lay in bed and rest.

  ”It was okay, I guess.”

  ”How about your math preparation?”

  ”It was okay, I guess.”

  The room fell silent.

  Liu Chang’an opened his eyes, looking at Bai Liu.

  Bai Liu couldn’t help but fidget with her zipper, feeling a bit too obvious, and then she stopped, worried that Liu Chang’an might misinterpret her actions.

  ”Do you find zippers entertaining?”

  ”Uh, yeah… no…”

  ”If I were to leave first and meet your mom, what would she think?” Liu Chang’an asked.

  ”Ah? My mom is coming tonight.” Bai Liu was taken aback.

  ”Ann Wan is a considerate person, she just wants to make sure I have a place to rest, and then her mom will come.” Liu Chang’an wouldn’t explain himself, but when it came to Ann Wan’s reputation, maybe the rumors wouldn’t harm her, but it wasn’t what she deserved.

  ”Yeah, she has long legs, a slender waist, a great figure, and a lovely personality… many good qualities.”
