    Chapter 43: Master-Level Fireball Technique

    Five days later.

Late at night, Luo Chen was still busy. He cleaned the purple cloud copper furnace and swept the alchemy room. He packed the ash from the fire pit into a large bucket and threw it outside; someone would collect it the next day. After all, he paid a monthly spiritual stone fee for night soil removal (a euphemism for garbage collection). This night soil collector, naturally, would also collect the trash.

After cleaning everything, Luo Chen, taking advantage of everyone being asleep, went to the courtyard to take a cold shower. He also brought the potted plants entrusted to him by Fu Xiuxiu back indoors to prevent them from being stolen. Although most were ornamental flowers and plants, there were also first-rank spirit plants, such as Moon Glow Grass.

Once everything was done, Luo Chen felt refreshed. Only then did he return to his bed and sit cross-legged. He took out a jade bottle, poured it slightly, revealing a pill the size of a longan.

“The last Qi-Nourishing Pill,” he murmured.

Luo Chen’s expression was calm and still as he swallowed it whole, then circulated the Longevity Skill, refining the pill while absorbing the ambient spiritual energy.

Half an hour later, Luo Chen slowly opened his eyes. The slightly swollen feeling in his lower abdomen Dantian indicated that his cultivation had improved again. He opened his attribute panel:

    Name: Luo Chen

    Lifespan: 27/75

Spirit Root: Gold, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth

Cultivation Level: Qi Refining Period, Fourth Layer: 61/100

Cultivation Technique: Longevity Skill (Perfect): 490/500

Spells: Fireball Technique (Master): 630/1000, 逍遥游 (Perfect): 451/500, Binding Technique (Proficient): 278/300, Cleansing Technique (Skilled): 120/200, Attraction Technique (Perfect): 310/500, Spirit Sight Technique (Proficient): 237/300, Wind Riding Art (Beginner): 56/100

Skills: First-Rank Alchemist: Valley-Clearing Powder (Master): 790/1000, Myriad Wonders Pill (Proficient): 211/300

    Achievement Points: 11 points

Luo Chen stared at the panel, feeling a mix of emotions. Everything had changed, except for his predetermined lifespan and spirit root. Compared to his blank attribute slate when he first transmigrated, he had undergone a dramatic transformation.

First, his cultivation level. This was straightforward: 500 spiritual stones worth of Qi-Nourishing Pills, coupled with a first-rank spiritual vein, the perfect Longevity Skill, and the Moon Glow Grass assistance over the past half-month, had increased his progress to 61. With enough Qi-Nourishing Pills, breaking through to the fifth layer of Qi Refining was imminent.

Secondly, his cultivation technique. The proficiency level of the Longevity Skill was steadily approaching the Master level thanks to his persistent efforts. Only ten proficiency points remained; it would take three or four days at most. Luo Chen wasn’t in a hurry. Although he was curious about the changes a Master-level Longevity Skill would bring, he was patient. He had endured harder times; this was merely the quiet before the dawn.

Then, his spells! This was the area with the most significant and numerous changes. There were so many changes he didn’t know where to begin. He only knew that applying these spells to his daily life, as Gu Caiyi suggested, had boosted his proficiency dramatically.

With the perfect 逍遥游 and the recently learned Wind Riding Art, Luo Chen’s speed far exceeded that of flying artifacts. He had compared it to a lotus leaf flying disc yesterday and indeed, his speed was faster.

As for the others, the Binding Technique and Cleansing Technique were merely from daily training; they were useful in daily life but not much in combat. The Spirit Sight Technique had improved significantly in the past half-month, likely due to his constant observation during alchemy. It had reached proficiency level in a short time. The Attraction Technique progressed even faster, already at the perfect level. He could skillfully manipulate the set of jade-green knives. This was another combat option if he ever faced an enemy. Congratulations!

But what surprised Luo Chen most was the Fireball Technique. From initial proficiency to its current Master level, he had poured immense effort into this spell. The spiritual energy consumed was countless. But the final result was worth the effort.

With a thought! In the blink of an eye, ten sparks appeared on his palm, like flying fireflies, incredibly beautiful. This was the qualitative change of the Fireball Technique reaching the Master level. No incantations were needed; only spiritual energy input was necessary. Although the speed hadn’t changed much, the quantity had undergone a revolutionary transformation. From releasing one by one, it became ten at once. If enough spiritual energy was injected, each fireball’s power would be no weaker than a single one.

Luo Chen’s mobile artillery tactic had advanced to a new level: short-range fire coverage!

Ten maximum-power fireballs launched simultaneously; enemies couldn’t escape or avoid them. Luo Chen had renamed this move. “Fireball Technique” was too bland; he called it “Flying Fireflies”!

He casually flicked his wrist, and ten sparks landed on the floor tiles, emitting a sizzling sound.

After reviewing the spells section, only the skills section remained. He was still a first-rank alchemist; this wouldn’t change until he refined a second-rank elixir. The Valley-Clearing Powder remained at the Master level. He had been refining this continuously to diversify his product line.

The biggest change was the Myriad Wonders Pill. He remembered it had taken four months to go from beginner to proficient. He had failed over a hundred times, investing 400 to 500 spiritual stones, and had nearly faced bankruptcy, relying on the meager income from Valley-Clearing Powder. He had lived in fear of losses during that period. Only last month did he barely reach the proficient level.

But everything had changed. It was like capital; the initial accumulation phase is always the hardest. But once the first pot of gold is obtained, the first success achieved, subsequent development is like cheating. Many capital entities skyrocket into behemoths within a few years.

Luo Chen was now in that situation! A year of preparation, four months of honing proficiency, and then, starting this month, he took off. In half a month, he refined thirty batches, with six successful batches, resulting in sixty Myriad Wonders Pills. Sixty points of proficiency added to the five successful batches from last month directly elevated his proficiency from proficient to master level.

Luo Chen hadn’t yet experimented with the effects of the master-level Myriad Wonders Pill alchemy. He only knew that this was a snowball effect: his technique improved, he earned more spiritual stones, and he would improve his proficiency faster. Master level was within sight!

Furthermore, there was even more good news.

Achievement Points: 11 points (can be used for entry-level cultivation techniques, spells, and skills of the corresponding level)

The points had once again accumulated to over ten, meaning another opportunity to improve himself: a cultivation technique, a spell, or a skill!

However, Luo Chen hadn’t decided how to use the eleven achievement points. Besides an unlearned Healing Technique, he only had a fragmentary Jade Dew Pill formula. The Healing Technique wasn’t difficult; he was confident in learning it himself later. The Jade Dew Pill formula wasn’t suitable either; it was a second-rank elixir, not only not of the corresponding level, but also required second-rank materials. Its target users were Foundation Establishment cultivators and second-rank demonic beasts.

“I’ll save it for later. It’ll be useful eventually,” he decided. “For now, I won’t rush into alchemy; I need to accumulate funds first.”

Luo Chen glanced at the empty jade bottle that once held his Qi-Nourishing Pills, somewhat missing the rapid advancement of cultivation through pill consumption.
