Chapter 56: A Three-Minute Silence for Our Hero!

    June 4, 2024

Chapter 56: A Three-Minute Silence for Our Hero!

“Friends, the information Mr. Lu provided is indeed of great value.”

“He has made contributions to all of humanity.”

The spokesperson from the 15th civilization branch in Buenos Aires offered a suggestion: “As a pioneering hero of humanity, his sudden death is a shared loss.”

“I propose that we all observe a three-minute silence for him.”

This city from South America has several universities, but as an agricultural country, its industrial capacity is quite weak, and its social organization is terribly poor.

At this moment, a sea of people crowded the city square, holding national flags, and staging a protest…though protests are meaningless in this era.

Well, these mediocre cities really hoped Lu Yuan would live, providing more free information.

Now that Lu Yuan has suddenly passed away, even in this neutral setting, they still feel regret…

    This proposal was widely accepted.

Everyone was quite courteous in the face of such a situation; thus, the leaders of all cities silently offered their condolences.

“Professor Zhang, should we notify his parents?”

“For now…let’s not. There’s no certainty about the situation; it’s better to keep it quiet…”

The young people behind Professor Zhang Hui’s suddenly had tears in their eyes. Yunhai City’s bright future had only just begun; Yunhai City had completed a milestone achievement just the day before…

And yet, this human pioneer who had provided this crucial information had suddenly died, sacrificing himself for all of humanity!

Three days in the safe zone equates to 300 days on the Pangu Continent!

This feeling of impermanence, of the rapid changes in the world, left them feeling a sense of helplessness and shock.

These young people, having grown up in a peaceful era and not experienced much death and separation, all fell silent.

“Everyone, let us observe a moment of silence for our hero.”

    One minute…

    Two minutes…

    Three minutes…

“%&*%&()” Suddenly, a fast-forward sound came from a crystal screen on the large sphere.

    ???

    Everyone looked up.

Professor Zhang’s face froze. Upon seeing the image, he looked like he had seen a ghost, his face turning pale and then flushing red.

He couldn’t help but shout: “Slow the playback speed to one percent! Don’t fast-forward! Rewind and see what he said!”

That voice just now was actually: “Old Wolf, found a treasure! Let’s have a feast today!”

“Oh, God! He’s alive! Incredible! This is unbelievable! This amazing young man, where did he go? I really thought he was dead!”

    Voices echoed from the communicators.

“I was just praying! Did God hear my prayer?” Several old men’s beards visibly trembled, showing their excitement; they kept exclaiming, “Oh my God!”

    “Quiet, everyone, be quiet!”

“Should we send out an alert?”

    “No, no rush!”

After a period of silence, laughter erupted in Yunhai City’s conference room.

    “Hahaha!”

Even the always composed Zhang Hui couldn’t help but laugh.

Damn it, this guy wasn’t dead!

Appearing suddenly at this crucial moment, it was as if he intentionally wanted to slap these civilization leaders in the face.

“Old Wolf, found a treasure! Let’s have a feast today!” the young man on the screen said excitedly, “Damn it, I dug in the snow for so long to find this treasure; you’ll never get to eat this in your life! It’s all thanks to me, Old Lu!”

“How long does it take to cultivate a human? A thousand years is enough, right?”

“Awoooooo!!!” The Old Wolf was extremely excited; its wolf face had a devilishly arrogant look, its tail wagging high in the air.

It was also celebrating its master’s return.

Professor Zhang came to his senses. He felt his heart beating rapidly, an indescribable feeling of relief washing over him.

Look at those old fellows, their faces frozen in shock and astonishment! Serves you right for gloating!

He asked the graduate student in charge of this matter: “Is this a live recording?”

“It should be live, right?” The graduate student also looked bewildered, “No, it’s definitely live!”

Therefore, Zhang Hui cleared his throat: “Everyone, I told you, he dared to go out in the dead of winter; he had his own ideas and confidence. You didn’t have to rush to offer your condolences.”

“Mr. Zhang, we were merely showing our respect and regret; we had no other intentions.” The spokesperson from Buenos Aires quickly clarified their position. They were joking; now Yunhai City was the implicit leader again.

They were even thinking that if Yunhai City opened a safe zone, they would simply follow suit and seek refuge there.

After all, this big brother’s behavior in history wasn’t too bad.

The behavior of the other big brother, however, wasn’t very good…those who didn’t understand were often fooled, but those who did, understood.

As for the 15th branch of human civilization? South America also had ancient civilizations, the Inca, Aztec, and Mayan civilizations, but these civilizations had long since lost their traditions, so they didn’t place too much importance on their own civilization.

The people in the communication room were scheming.

The person on the screen, on the other hand, was exceptionally joyful; after all, it was such a bountiful harvest; his happiness overflowed the screen.

“Don’t worry, find my pot first, buddy. I’m making honey-glazed char siu today, and you’re going to eat your fill.” Lu Yuan started rummaging through piles of garbage. The amount of garbage accumulated over hundreds of days was substantial, a mix of all sorts of things.

“Top-grade honey, you’ve probably never tasted it before.”

“By the way, those bears must like honey too, right? I’ll make some honey buns in a couple of days to lure them. I want to pet a bear! Those cubs are so chubby.”

After a while, the man on the screen finally found what he was looking for, then glanced at the time on the big iron ball: “I’ve been outside for a full 10 days…this thing hasn’t seen the sun in a long time, right? I’ll move it out to get some sun and recharge it.”

And then try to contact human civilization?

Maybe one day, it will suddenly get better?

The spokesperson from the Third Civilization in Old Delhi, Mr. Dimo, was stunned for a long time before breaking into a smile: “Fantastic! Our human explorer has returned! This is truly fortunate for all of humanity!”

“He did not die, but achieved a great victory in battle…He even transported this machine out. Let’s see what spoils of war he obtained.”

The representative from India, known for their thick-skinned nature, acted as if nothing had happened, adding later: “We hope that everyone can share any information discovered, which will effectively improve our survival rate.”

The words were the same, but the subtext was different.

The subtext was: Your Lu Yuan is alive again, and you are still unique.

If you need any information, name your price; we can sell it cheaply.

Once the safe zone is lifted, you are still the boss, don’t attack us.
