    Chapter 114: A Cross-World Call

Shen Sui really wanted to give Alice a good knock on the head right now.

What’s with this frantic “finding a partner for you” act?

Don’t you dare assume every attractive, mature woman you see is my girlfriend!

Unfortunately, Shen Sui was currently feigning unconsciousness, so he couldn’t punish Alice.

After severing the connection to the Sinful Holy Grail—though it probably wouldn’t have hurt to leave it connected—Alice bid farewell to Osana and headed towards the Nature Forest. Alice didn’t know Shen Sui was playing possum and was desperately trying to find the legendary Freya.

Since there was still a long way to go to the Elf Forest, Shen Sui finally had ample time to deal with a few things. First was the disposition of the War God’s divine power.

Turning the War God into a puppet and having it punch him was a makeshift plan for the performance. But now, a very real problem loomed before Shen Sui.

How should he handle the War God’s death? As one of the main gods of the Dawn Continent, being punched to death by him was somewhat undignified, but the War God’s influence was undeniable.

However, Shen Sui didn’t care about the War God’s death’s impact on the Dawn Continent. He was merely considering the advantages and disadvantages of maintaining a virtual War God versus ignoring it completely.

Of course, regardless, Shen Sui was definitely taking half of the War God’s divine power. He needed it as a medium to call upon Qisala’s soul, which resided in another world.

    Hmm…

Suddenly, Shen Sui had an idea. Perhaps maintaining the War God’s virtual existence would still benefit him. Although all the gods resurrected after Vivian’s death, their followers were the key drivers of Vivian’s demise. Even after a thousand years, most of those followers were long dead, but they might have left behind some information. He might be able to use this puppet War God to find the truth about what happened back then; that would be much faster than Alice running around.

The only issue was finding a way to allow the War God to respond normally to the prayers of its followers.

Shen Sui immediately thought of Ariana.

Our little Reaper was different from other gods. Before she resurrected, Vivian had already taken half of her divine power. Fearing that her weakened self would become food for other gods, the Reaper, quite rationally, “greased the wheels” (slipped away) and didn’t tell her followers anything. As a result, people still believed the Reaper was completely dead and had no chance of resurrection.

[You raise your hand and call upon Ariana.]

[Ariana quickly arrives at your side.]

    So fast?

[Ariana discovers the War God’s divine power in your hand, looks at Qisala on your neck, and immediately understands your purpose.]

[Ariana is inwardly joyful and gleeful.]

[Heh heh, at least I’m still alive.]

[Sliding down on my knees really pays off!]

Hey, you’re quite proud of yourself.

[Ariana agrees to your appointment. She will impersonate the War God.]

[You bestow half of the War God’s divine power upon Ariana.]

[Ariana absorbs the divine power, and her strength is restored.]

[She sees the gap between you and her.]

    [She rationally submits to you.]

[After Ariana leaves, you hand half the divine power to Qisala.]

Good, it’s time to recall Qisala.

Shen Sui rubbed his hands together. This recall would take effect instantly. Shen Sui was certain that as long as Qisala sensed his call, she would return immediately. In the game, this specific type of summoning was instantaneous; after all, this setting was designed to let newbies summon powerful players to cheat.

Now, doing this in reality, Shen Sui didn’t think it would be too slow, but one had to consider the time it would take for her to cross the dimensional barrier. Besides, Shen Sui didn’t want Qisala to sacrifice too much to come back to see him.

    [Qisala is somewhat resistant.]

    Huh? Resistant?

Shen Sui was a bit puzzled.

[If her soul returns, Qisala won’t be able to be so unrestrained in her closeness with her master.]

    [Qisala affectionately rubs against you.]

Shen Sui remembered Qisala’s perpetually cold demeanor in the game.

    Oh, dear…

If Qisala’s soul returned and recalled her actions with her body these past few days, she would be incredibly shy.

Thinking about it, Shen Sui was even more excited. The moment an iceberg melts and becomes shy is one of the most rewarding moments for a man!

[You perform a cross-world summoning on Qisala.]

*(Note: The inserted text appears to be a spam comment or gibberish and has been omitted.)*

[The power of half the divine power is instantly drained.]

[The silent call, using this as its driving force, penetrates the barrier between worlds, following the faint connection between soul and body towards Qisala’s soul.]

    [Qisala senses your call.]

    [Qisala decides to return.]

    [Qisala is on her way.]

A series of messages popped up, proving that Shen Sui’s summoning was successful.

[Feeling her soul returning, Qisala becomes even more clingy, constantly wanting to cuddle, as if she won’t have another chance.]

    Ah…

Are a tsundere’s body and soul working in reverse?

Shen Sui grumbled to himself while imagining Qisala acting clingy with him. He also wondered what world Qisala was currently in.

After asking Andori to continue watching Alice, Shen Sui stretched, opened the computer next to him, and started his usual routine of casually browsing the internet.

Suddenly, a trending topic popped up, flooding the screen in a very short time. No matter which forum Shen Sui visited, he saw passionate discussions among netizens.

    What happened?

    Shen Sui was curious.

[Whoa! Something big seems to have happened in World Eleven!]

[World Eleven? That world full of magical girls?]

    [Yes! That’s World Eleven.]

[Doesn’t something big always happen there? It’s either a witch invasion or tentacles running rampant.]

[Yeah, I remember the last one was the Mysterious Card incident, right? Before that, it was the Sacred Stone Seed incident.]

    [And the Dark Book incident.]

[I’m so envious. With those kinds of incidents, Soul Cards would definitely grow rapidly.]

[No, some places can be very dangerous for magical girls; you might accidentally become a plaything for tentacles.]

[Is “plaything” the right word to use here?]

The forum users were chattering away, and Shen Sui couldn’t figure out what was going on after reading for a long time. Finally, he couldn’t help but ask.

[Oh, I heard a white dragon appeared in World Eleven, and everyone in the world saw the dragon fly towards the stars guided by starlight. Because of this strange sight, World Eleven has given birth to a new batch of magical girls who use starlight as their power source.]

[I bet there will be transforming dragon-girl magical girls appearing too.]

So Qisala was in World Eleven? That couldn’t be a coincidence. But why would Qisala go to a magical girl’s Soul Card world…?

At that moment, a phone call came in. Shen Sui looked down and saw it was a call from Xin Yuan Tan Chun.

“Hello?” He looked at the sky and realized he’d been up all night. It was already noon the next day, but he wasn’t very tired because Claude’s power hadn’t fully returned yet. But once he realized he’d pulled an all-nighter, the tiredness hit him.

    “Something big happened!”

“Oh, you mean that dragon in World Eleven? What does that have to do with me?” Shen Sui was drowsy and his words lacked logic.

“What? I’m talking about your ranking tournament,” Xin Yuan Tan Chun mumbled strangely. “World Eleven? What happened there? My only impression of it is that one annoying giraffe.”
