Let them print cards, not slay gods 30

150,000.
This was the final compensation price Shen Sui negotiated.
The Fate Card Association’s generosity stemmed from their guilt. After all, banning a student’s card before they even became a professional player was indefensible.
Seeing the substantial sum added to his account, Shen Sui felt utterly satisfied.
Selling cards? Selling what cards?
A 13-star card selling for 150,000?
Forbidden cards really do make the most money. It’s a pity there’s a price cap in the country; otherwise, Shen Sui would be a multimillionaire by now.
Shen Sui glanced at his Dueling Instrument, pondering how he could obtain another forbidden card.
Perhaps the Heavenly Selection Cup would be an opportunity. Although the participants were all amateur players, some were popular Fate Card Masters online. Defeating them might boost his popularity.
However, Shen Sui needed to be cautious. If too many cards in his deck were added to the Forbidden Card List, even with Alice’s incredible card drawing ability, he wouldn’t be able to keep up.
Academy PK matches allowed forbidden cards, but ranking matches didn’t.
Shen Sui still planned to break through the ranking matches in one go to become a professional player and secure a Fate Card Association minimum wage. If a key card got banned at this time, it would be a huge headache.
Forget it, I’ll hold back a bit during the Heavenly Selection Cup.
Thinking this, Shen Sui walked towards the academy’s courier point; his new laptop had arrived.
No matter the world, once your pockets are full, most worries disappear automatically.
“Shen Sui!”
Suddenly, a familiar voice rang out beside Shen Sui. He turned to see a slightly chubby boy running towards him.
“You are…” Shen Sui recalled, “Yue Tao?”
“Haha, I didn’t expect this big celebrity to remember my name.” Yue Tao scratched his head sheepishly.
“See, I told you we’d become classmates,” Shen Sui smiled.
“I was just lucky, a god-like draw beat the examiner,” Yue Tao said. “And my examiner had just been promoted to Third Rank, unlike you, who directly defeated a Fifth-Rank Fate Card Master.”
The two exchanged pleasantries.
Shen Sui walked straight towards his destination.
When he noticed Yue Tao following him, he knew the chubby boy must have something to say.
“You’re looking for me, right?” Shen Sui asked directly.
Unlike Shen Sui, who had experience from his past life in society, Yue Tao, lacking that experience, hesitated after his intentions were revealed.
“It’s like this,” Yue Tao said, “I don’t know if this is good news or bad news for you; it might upset you.”
“Upset?”
“Yeah.” Yue Tao nodded, leaning closer to Shen Sui and whispering, “When I just left the club, I overheard a group of people talking about you… They said your key card had been added to the Forbidden Card List, and said things about you being arrogant.”
“Oh?” Shen Sui smiled faintly.
The Forbidden Card List was released at the beginning of each month. It was only mid-June; the July Forbidden Card List, containing the Stellar Super Magic Array, hadn’t been released yet. The only people who could know about a card’s addition to the list at this time were those who reported it. The Fate Card Association provides a clear response to every report. Shen Sui received a text message from the Fate Card Association confirming that the Stellar Super Magic Array would be added to the July Forbidden Card List.
“That’s your key card! That combo wouldn’t work without it! Those people are too much! They’re all classmates…” Yue Tao said indignantly.
“That’s wrong,” Shen Sui patted Yue Tao on the shoulder, speaking earnestly, “This Dueling Academy isn’t high school; there are no purely friendly classmate relationships. Everyone is a potential rival.”
“It shouldn’t be like this,” Yue Tao said seriously, “Even as rivals, we should get along harmoniously. If you want to defeat someone, you should do it fairly in a duel, not through such underhanded means! Reporting your opponent’s key card—that’s dirty!”
Ah.
Shen Sui, who had also reported the Stellar Super Magic Array, didn’t know how to respond.
“Anyway, you should be careful,” Yue Tao advised kindly. “Don’t let the card ban affect your state of mind. At least in the Academy PK matches, your combo will still work.”
Shen Sui understood Yue Tao’s implication.
Though his mindset was as pure as most high school graduates, he wasn’t stupid. His words clearly suggested that Shen Sui shouldn’t use new strategies in the Academy PK matches; he should just continue using this combo.
“That’s exactly what I’m planning,” Shen Sui’s lips curled into a smile. “By the way, can you tell me the names of those who reported my card?”
Yue Tao said nervously, “Don’t do anything rash! You’ll be expelled if you act irrationally!”
News reports often featured students who were expelled after their classmates or roommates reported their key cards, leading to a physical altercation.
“Don’t worry, Card Masters resolve conflicts through duels,” Shen Sui patted his chest. “I’m broad-minded; I’ve already forgiven them. I just want to meet them and bring them smiles in the Academy PK matches.”
The Academy PK matches had no elimination rounds. You just had to keep finding opponents within the academy. Once you won three consecutive duels and were among the top ten to achieve this, your Dueling Instrument would notify you that you qualified to challenge the coach.
Of course, since only the top three in a PK match could obtain this qualification, when someone won two matches in a row, others would specifically challenge them to break their winning streak—a tactic known as sniping. Since duel invitations only required reporting the opponent’s name to the match referee, there was no way to hide; it was all down to luck.
When too many people challenged the same person simultaneously, the referee would randomly select a match.
This competition didn’t have a champion or runner-up, only a ranking list. Winning a duel earned one point. Usually, the top players on the leaderboard qualified for the challenge, but if you were incredibly unlucky, even winning and losing alternately could still put you on the leaderboard.
In PK matches, students couldn’t refuse duel invitations.
The invited party, however, had a privilege: choosing to attack first or defend first.
Yue Tao looked at the smiling Shen Sui, inexplicably feeling a chill.
Were those “smiles” he spoke of genuine…?
Yue Tao still mentioned a few people he knew. Shen Sui memorized their names, intending to duel them one by one in the PK matches.
“Thanks for the heads-up.” Shen Sui found Yue Tao quite likable; he seemed to have specifically come to warn Shen Sui. “If you need any help, come find me.”
“Well, if I need help…” Yue Tao said hesitantly, “I do actually have something to ask you.”
“What?” Shen Sui smiled at Yue Tao’s embarrassed expression.
“Your Soul Card world is a fantasy world, right?” Yue Tao said, “I wonder if your Soul Card world has elemental sprites.”
“Elemental sprites? Oh, the little guys made of elements? Yes, I do.”
“Really?” Yue Tao’s eyes lit up. “Could you get me a few elemental sprite follower cards?”
He pulled out a card from his Dueling Instrument: “I’ll trade you this card.”
