Chapter 27: What to Do When Your Teacher Is Too Cunning (Requesting Reads)

After completing the tutoring assignment, Mu Yue didn’t return to the Southern Border Forest but went to her house in the main city area.

Mu Yue quickly stir-fried two dishes to settle her dinner before going out for a walk. After all, friendship couldn’t be waited for at home.

After walking for a while, Mu Yue eventually ran into Minato and Kushina at a nearby park.

The two were sitting on a park bench, chatting in the evening breeze.

“Hayate,” Minato greeted Mu Yue after seeing her.

“Are you also here for a walk in the park?” Minato asked.

Mu Yue nodded, sat down on the chair beside them, and said, “Just finished dinner, walking to digest.”

“Hayate, Minato said you’re a teacher at the Ninja Academy?” Kushina curiously asked.

In her circle of friends, no one had ever been a Ninja Academy teacher.

“Yes, I just joined this year,” Mu Yue replied with a smile.

“Just joined this year, then you must have a very impressive class, Hayate,” Minato said in surprise.

Kushina looked at Minato with some doubt.

“Yesterday in the office, the Third Hokage said Hayate’s teaching level is very high; he even wanted to hire Mu Yue as a tutor for his family,” Minato explained.

“To receive such high praise from the Third Hokage in her first year, her teaching achievements must be exceptionally outstanding.”

“Wow, the Third Old Man praised her that much?” Kushina was also surprised.

Although her opinion of Sarutobi Hiruzen was generally neutral, she still acknowledged his judgment.

“Oh, it’s also because the students themselves are hardworking enough,” Mu Yue humbly said, then added, “Minato-sensei is truly amazing. At such a young age, he’s already become an Upper Ninja and a crucial asset to the village.”

“Hehe, that’s right, my Minato is the strongest!” Kushina said with complete agreement.

“But I’m an Upper Ninja too,” Kushina laughed.

Mu Yue showed a surprised expression and praised, “Then, Uzumaki-sensei is also very impressive.”

“Hayate, you’re such a smooth talker,” Kushina found herself liking Mu Yue more and more. If it weren’t for the fact that her good friend, Uchiha Mikoto, was already married, she would have introduced Mu Yue to someone.

Look, such a great man, as handsome as Minato, with strong abilities, good enough to receive the Third Hokage’s praise.

The three chatted for a while, then Mu Yue took her leave first.

Two young couples were out for a stroll; it wasn’t appropriate for her to stay too long. She needed to be mindful and gradually establish her persona.

The next day, Mu Yue trained Obito, Might Guy, and the others until noon, then went to Sarutobi Hiruzen’s house in the afternoon to tutor Asma, taking him to the riverbank from yesterday.

“I’m too tired today, I don’t want to train,” Asma directly gave up, leaning against a tree, looking ready to sleep.

He had secretly made up his mind that no matter how Mu Yue tried to goad him, he wouldn’t budge.

“Want to sleep?” Mu Yue looked at Asma with a smile.

The smile was gentle and healing, much better than his father’s, but Asma had a bad feeling.

“Yeah, I didn’t sleep well last night, is that not allowed?” Asma stubbornly said.

To Asma’s surprise, Mu Yue nodded in agreement, saying:

“Yeah, the sun is just right, and there’s a gentle breeze; it’s indeed a good day for sleeping.”

Then Mu Yue stretched, also leaned against the tree, and said in a relaxed manner:

“Being a tutor is really good. I can sleep while lying down, and I earn 100,000 Ryo when I wake up.”

After saying that, Mu Yue closed her eyes, resting her head against the tree, looking ready to sleep.

“Wait, what did you say about 100,000 Ryo?” Asma’s eyes widened instantly, as he asked Mu Yue.

“Why are you making so much noise? Can’t I sleep?” Mu Yue didn’t even open her eyes, looking as if she was about to fall asleep.

“Don’t sleep yet, quickly tell me about the 100,000 Ryo,” Asma shook Mu Yue’s body.

“What else could it be? It’s the money for teaching you, of course,” Mu Yue opened her eyes and began to speak nonsense seriously.

“Do you think I’m working for free? Even the Hokage has to pay when hiring a tutor. My fee is very high. Teaching you costs 25,000 Ryo per hour, so for four hours a day, it’s 100,000 Ryo, naturally.”

“Is your mouth made of gold? Your fees are so expensive!” Upon learning that Mu Yue could earn 25,000 Ryo for an hour spent with him, Asma was shocked.

He knew that his monthly allowance was only 50,000 Ryo, and that was considered a lot.

And Mu Yue could earn his entire month’s allowance in just two hours of teaching him!

“You can go to the Ninja Academy and ask around about the name Hayate Mu Yue, then you’ll know whether it’s worth the price,” Mu Yue calmly said.

“But why haven’t I heard of your name?” Asma felt like he was being tricked.

“Because I started working after you graduated,” Mu Yue said, then closed her eyes again, ready to sleep.

Seeing Mu Yue about to sleep again, Asma felt heartbroken. This was a 25,000 Ryo per hour tutoring session!

“Don’t sleep, let’s start training,” Asma hurriedly shouted, afraid that Mu Yue would fall asleep and become impossible to wake.

“Didn’t you say you didn’t sleep well yesterday, that you were very tired and wanted to sleep? You’re not tired anymore?” Mu Yue opened her eyes and smiled at Asma.

Looking at Mu Yue’s expression, Asma knew he had been tricked. This guy wasn’t sleeping at all!

But he had no choice. This was a 25,000 Ryo per hour tutoring session. If he really let Mu Yue sleep here, Asma wouldn’t be able to sleep now, let alone tonight.

“I’ve rested, let’s start training,” Asma said with a dark face.

He planned to complain to his mother when he got home. Hiring such an expensive tutor was a waste of money; they weren’t short of Upper Ninja teachers.

“Alright then, today we’ll still train Chakra control. Today’s goal is to stay on the water for fifteen minutes,” Mu Yue got up and smiled.

The training was the same as yesterday. Asma struggled to stay afloat, while Mu Yue used Fire Release to disrupt him from the shore.

Today’s Asma was as motivated as yesterday, but yesterday’s motivation was to embarrass his father, while today’s motivation was Mu Yue’s outrageous tutoring fee.

At dinner, Asma directly complained to Biwako, saying that Sarutobi Hiruzen was wasting money by hiring a 25,000 Ryo per hour tutor.

Biwako was also shocked by this exorbitant tutoring fee – 100,000 Ryo for four hours.

Some B-rank missions only paid 100,000 Ryo, so this was equivalent to a single person completing a B-rank mission in four hours.

“Hmm? You mean Hayate? That’s impossible. His tutoring fee is 2,000 Ryo per hour,” Sarutobi Hiruzen paused, then said with a smile.

“2,000 Ryo?” Asma looked at Sarutobi Hiruzen with a doubtful gaze.

“Of course it’s 2,000 Ryo. Where did you hear about 25,000 Ryo?” Sarutobi Hiruzen stated firmly.

Looking at his father’s face, Asma knew he had been tricked by Mu Yue.

“Ah! Damn Hayate Mu Yue!” Asma roared in his heart, then channeled his anger into his appetite, eating heartily, thinking that he would absolutely not fall for Mu Yue’s tricks next week.

I apologize everyone, this chapter was written in a bit of a hurry, the quality might not be very good. I’ll revise it when I have time.

Something happened at home tonight; my grandmother passed away.
