Chapter 47: Panel Greatly Improved (Seeking Readership)

    [Name: Hayase Muki]

    [Age: 18]

    [Chakra: 8000]

[Skills: Teaching, Fire Release: Head-Hardening Technique, Palm Sage Art, Wind Release: Pressure Harm, Earth Release: Earth Flow Wall, Eight Gates Formation… ]

[Evaluation: You have mastered seven chakra nature transformations, and are proficient in Fire Release and Water Release. If it’s just a clash of power, you would crush ordinary Upper Ninjas. You only need to continue increasing your chakra to become a stronger shinobi.]

Compared to the time right after last month’s exam, his panel data has seen another significant surge.

This month, due to cultivation missions, the increase in chakra was particularly noticeable.

When he time-traveled, it was April. From April to May, his total chakra increased by one thousand, rising from 4300 to 5300. Adding the 500 chakra from the early May exam, it totaled 5800.

From the end of the early May exam to the beginning of June, the increase was even greater, jumping directly from 5800 to 8000, a total increase of 2200 chakra.

Muki once envied the Root Upper Ninjas’ 7000 chakra points. In just two months, he had surpassed them, now possessing 1000 more chakra points than those Upper Ninjas.

However, Muki knew it would be difficult to maintain this rate of chakra increase from June to July.

The large increase was due to the completion of Obito’s training mission, and currently, there were no new training missions. There were also no exams from June to July; the final exam was in mid-July.

Besides the impressive chakra increase, Muki also received a series of rewards: mastery of Water Release chakra nature transformation, mastery of Fire Release: Head-Hardening Technique, and proficiency in Yin Release chakra nature transformation.

These rewards significantly boosted Muki’s combat strength; otherwise, having only a large chakra pool without the skills to use it would be awkward.

Mastery of various chakra nature transformations was Muki’s most desired reward.

After mastering Water and Fire Release transformations, not only did the upper limit of his corresponding Ninjutsu output increase, but Muki felt that if he worked hard for a few years, he might even be able to develop the kekkei genkai (bloodline limit) Boil Release.

If he mastered seven nature transformations, Muki dared not imagine what he could develop—creating Truth-Seeking Balls with his bare hands?

Muki thought for a moment and decided it might not be possible yet. Mastery wasn’t the highest level; there should be a higher level before he could possibly create Truth-Seeking Balls.

However, even if he couldn’t create Truth-Seeking Balls, developing various kekkei genkai seemed hopeful.

“Obito, Kakashi, you both got first place, that’s wonderful!” Rin Nohara offered her sweet congratulations to Obito and Kakashi.

Both were her good friends; getting first place together was the best outcome.

“Hehe, it’s also thanks to your support from the sidelines, Rin,” Obito said, his face slightly red with excitement, the scenario he had fantasized about twenty days ago having come to pass.

He mentally added, “If only Kakashi’s name wasn’t there…”

“A tie for first place, it’s a draw then,” Might Guy said thoughtfully.

Until now, all his battles with Kakashi had been losses; there had been no draw. Seeing Obito tie with Kakashi in Ninjutsu, Might Guy felt a stirring and wanted to fight Kakashi again.

“Kakashi, to celebrate your first place, let’s have a match!” Might Guy, ever action-oriented, declared.

“I refuse. What kind of celebration is that? Winning first place in this kind of competition doesn’t need a celebration,” Kakashi refused Might Guy while simultaneously subtly putting down Obito.

Obito instantly wanted a verbal sparring match with Kakashi, but seeing Muki and Asma arrive, he refrained.

“Obito, you little rascal, were you secretly hiding your abilities during previous exams? You’ve suddenly become so strong,” Asma jogged to Obito’s side, clapping him on the shoulder jokingly.

“Not at all, it’s all the result of learning from you, Asma,” Obito replied.

When he was practicing water walking, he had only persevered because of the example of Asma, which Muki had explained to him.

“Haha, I should be learning from you; your Fire Release is so impressive,” Asma took Obito’s words as friendly banter and playfully put his arm around Obito’s neck.

“Teacher Muki,” Rin Nohara, Obito, and Might Guy greeted Muki, who was approaching from behind.

Because he often substituted for the Year Four, Class Two, Rin was quite familiar with Muki.

“Well done,” Muki smiled encouragingly, saying no more and quickly leaving with Asma.

He had actually reminded his three students to avoid showing their close relationship in front of others, and to simply act like a teacher and students at school.

Muki hadn’t explained the reason, leaving it for his students to figure out.

Even so, Muki felt it was best to limit their interactions in front of others; Obito at this stage was truly unreliable.

Before leaving, Muki used Appraisal on Kakashi.

    [Name: Hatake Kakashi]

    [Chakra: 2500]

    [Potential: S]

[Evaluation: Suitable for training in Lightning Release and Earth Release. Recommended to take as a student.]

Looking at Kakashi’s panel, Muki felt a sudden urge.

At eight years old, having 2500 chakra was extraordinary.

He had already used Appraisal on the Chunin teachers at the Ninja Academy; most were around 1500-2500. In other words, eight-year-old Kakashi’s chakra already surpassed many Chunin.

If he took him as a student, improving their trust level, he would certainly receive a considerable amount of chakra.

Muki quickly abandoned this tempting idea. Kakashi wasn’t as easy to influence as Obito. He was a Chunin; why would he study under another Chunin teacher?

“Kakashi only has an S potential? Does this mean that without the Six Paths power, the highest potential is only S?” Muki considered another problem.

Having used Appraisal on many people, he knew that potential didn’t equate to talent; otherwise, with both having S potential, how could Obito and Might Guy have such a huge gap compared to Kakashi during their academy days?

Compared to talent, Muki felt that potential represented a person’s possibilities.

Those with Six Paths heritage had greater possibilities and therefore higher potential, like the Hyuga and Uchiha clans. Muki had never seen anyone from these clans with potential below A.

Even with such high potential, not everyone in those clans was an Upper Ninja. Two gatekeepers with B- potential even became Special Jonin in the storyline.

After Muki and Asma left, Obito, Rin, and Might Guy discussed it and finally decided to celebrate by eating ramen.

Because of their first-place win, Obito generously treated, paying for everyone’s ramen.

However, during the ramen meal, Obito and Kakashi inevitably argued.

“Have you ever won first place in the Ninja Academy?” Kakashi asked calmly.

“When you can maintain first place in your class until graduation like me, then you can argue about winning and losing with me,” Obito retorted.

Obito was speechless; he had never won first place in his class, not even class first.

Might Guy’s ramen-eating stopped. He was hit by Kakashi’s wide-ranging attack, because he hadn’t won first place in his year either.

At the same time, Muki, who was teaching Asma, received a system notification.
