Chapter 101: Discoveries in Battle (Subscription Request)

Faster than Gu Xi’s reaction, the Demon Coffin instantly shifted over thirty meters, perfectly dodging whatever was falling.

Only then did Gu Xi see what it was: the gigantic creature from the walrus tomb.

However, unlike its first jump attack, this time the walrus tomb creature had clearly been thrown here.

The walrus tomb creature was struggling to flip itself over, trying to climb out of the ice.

The Death Avatar, soaring high in the sky, didn’t give the walrus tomb creature any chance to react. Transforming into a black mist with immense destructive power, it plummeted from the heavens and crashed directly into the walrus tomb creature.

The impact shattered the thick ice, sending both the Death Avatar and the walrus tomb creature plunging into Baixing Lake.

Gu Xi retreated repeatedly, backing away over sixty meters before escaping the area where the ice had cracked.

While retreating, Gu Xi noticed that as the battle escalated, the destructive power of the Death Avatar’s black mist intensified.

Wherever the black mist passed, all houses and ice were torn apart.

Even underwater, it was the same.

The black mist moved underwater just as fast as it did on land. As it moved, the surrounding water flowed towards the mist, drawn in by it.

A closer look revealed that the black mist’s destruction wasn’t caused by corrosion or sheer force, but rather by mini-tornadoes formed within the mist itself.

These mini-tornadoes were the true source of its destructive power.

While flying in the air, this wasn’t apparent, but underwater, it was clear.

The walrus tomb creature, having been thrown underwater, thought it could use its underwater combat abilities to make a comeback.

However, the Death Avatar possessed equally formidable power underwater.

Dragging the walrus tomb creature into the black mist, the Death Avatar relentlessly tore at its body. The walrus tomb creature’s body, while large, wasn’t strong. Unlike the Death Avatar, whose body was that of a Bone Dragon, harder than steel.

The walrus tomb creature’s attacks barely harmed the Death Avatar, while inflicting damage on itself.

At that moment, the Death Avatar released its hold on the walrus tomb creature.

Gu Xi, observing the scene from the ice cave entrance, was startled. Just as he was about to give an order, he felt a chill beside him, and Luna appeared.

    “What’s your meaning?”

Seeing Luna, Gu Xi understood the situation.

Luna nodded. “That walrus-like monster, like me, is a transformed local spirit after death. However, I transformed into a ghost, while it became a zombie. I want to find its origin; if possible, we can acquire more land.”

After hearing Luna’s words, Gu Xi glanced at the Death Avatar fighting underwater. “You only have half an hour. Are the people from the Bone-Cutting Camp idle? Get them here to clean the battlefield. Check the houses for any surviving walrus people.”

Following Gu Xi’s order, the various Skeleton Soldiers previously deployed once again became laborers. They rushed into the houses around Baixing Lake, searching for materials.

For the Skeleton Soldiers, anything they could carry was usable material.

In Baixing Lake, the most abundant items were dried and salted fish, followed by bone weapons and animal hides.

Lastly, there were scattered crystals and gems.

This surprised Gu Xi. According to the map, this area of Baixing Lake was a major producer of crystals and gems.

    This was it?

    Gu Xi was speechless.

However, this was a windfall he couldn’t refuse. He simply moved the Alierdo City gate nearby to facilitate the Skeleton Soldiers’ transport.

As the city gate drew closer, Gu Xi discovered that after clearing Baixing Lake’s inventory, the Skeleton Soldiers started dismantling houses.

This was unexpected. He also didn’t expect that the houses were made of high-quality timber, a crucial building material.

This discovery delighted Gu Xi. Even without many gems and crystals, the timber was a significant gain.

Just then, Luna, who had been observing the underwater battle, spoke.

    “Found it.”

Gu Xi looked at Luna and quickly went to her side. Following Luna’s gaze, Gu Xi saw that the underwater battle was nearing its end.

The Death Avatar repeatedly pushed the walrus tomb creature back and forth underwater, stirring up the sediment.

The walrus graveyard was unearthed during this process, with numerous walrus corpses and mud being churned up.

The walruses buried here were all old and dying creatures, their bodies having reached their maximum size, at least three to five meters long. When buried in the lake, their flesh and fat had decayed, leaving only white bones.

However, walrus bones were renowned, and the mixture of the walrus’s flesh and fat with the mud had nourished these bones. The walrus bones unearthed were now as white as jade, of superior quality.

As these remains were unearthed, Luna looked back at Gu Xi.

Gu Xi instantly understood. The Alierdo City gate was repositioned, appearing directly on the lakebed.

Luna seized the opportunity to jump into the lake and begin transferring the large walrus graveyard.

Seeing Gu Xi and Luna’s actions, the Death Avatar knew it was time to finish. It shook its head, viciously biting the walrus tomb creature’s neck and repeatedly shaking its body.

Each strike tore away a piece of the walrus tomb creature’s flesh.

The walrus tomb creature tried one last desperate struggle, but it was too late. Under the Death Avatar’s relentless attack, its body was finally torn to shreds.

By this time, Luna had completed the capture of the walrus tomb creature’s soul and the graveyard itself.

All the walrus bones underwater were sucked into the city gate. Then, the Death Avatar turned and disappeared before Gu Xi.

    The battle was over.

“My lord, I’ll return now. There’s much to do here. I will report my harvest after I’m finished.”

Gu Xi heard Luna’s voice, and then saw her disappear into the city gate.

Simultaneously, the sound of cracking ice echoed from the surface of Baixing Lake.

Gu Xi quickly ordered loudly: “All units, retreat! Demon Coffin, let’s go!”
