    Chapter 130: A Good Person (22123)

Average orders have reached 1230, that’s a good number! Happy weekend, happy Army Day, keep striving! —

“Thank you, thank you, I’m so grateful!”

The frail Undead Mage kept thanking Gu Xi, clutching his hand.

Gu Xi was a little speechless at such politeness. He didn’t understand what was wrong with this frail Undead Mage; he looked as if Gu Xi had saved his whole family.

After thanking him, the frail Undead Mage didn’t leave. He immediately picked up the packaged potions and started pouring them into his mouth.

He didn’t care about the properties of the potions, whether they were poisonous or not. Right now, these potions were all his, and he could use them however he wanted.

Gu Xi was shocked by this scene. He was about to say something when a few more Undead Mages crowded in.

    “Stop him!”

    “What are you doing?”

Seeing this, Gu Xi stopped them.

“Did you sell poison to this guy? Do you know who you’ve offended?”

One Undead Mage, without fully understanding the situation, immediately retorted upon seeing Gu Xi intervene.

Before Gu Xi could speak, the Death Avatar, which had been lying on the ground, poked its head out. The Bone Dragon’s face was directly in front of this Undead Mage, its right eye flashing with a grey light, as if ready to unleash a disintegration beam at the slightest wrong word.

At this moment, Gu Xi also raised his head. “Come on, say it again. Who have I offended?”

The Undead Mage was intimidated by the Death Avatar’s presence and involuntarily took a step back. He opened his mouth to say something, but he couldn’t utter a word in front of the Death Avatar.

Gu Xi stared at the Undead Mage, noticing his hesitant demeanor, and a hint of disdain flashed through his mind.

    “Scram!”

    “You’ll regret this.”

Seeing that the situation was turning against them, the Undead Mages stopped provoking and quickly left, uttering a threat.

Gu Xi didn’t pay much attention to their retreating figures but addressed the gathering crowd.

“Come, come, everyone, look here! I have Skeleton Warhorses and a green piece of equipment here. Anyone interested? I’m selling them cheap.”

This attracted the attention of several Death Knights. Plus, Gu Xi’s prices were low—anything that pleased the Death Avatar, including green-quality materials, would do—and a few Death Knights brought out items to distract the Death Avatar.

Soon, Gu Xi noticed a Death Knight presenting something that caught the Death Avatar’s attention:

    A stone drum.

[Stone Drum (White): A stone drum dug up from a graveyard. No one can beat this drum, and no one knows what it does.]

“This will do. What do you want?”

Gu Xi glanced at the Death Avatar, finding it quite pleased with the stone drum. He picked up the drum, which was taller than himself, and tossed it towards the Death Avatar.

The Death Avatar opened its mouth and swallowed the drum.

Gu Xi looked closely, but he didn’t notice any changes in the Death Avatar.

Gu Xi didn’t mind. The Death Avatar had swallowed a pair of metal arms before without much change. It’s a matter of accumulating small gains; there’s no use rushing.

The Death Knight was happy that his offering was accepted.

He pointed to a bracer and said, “I want that bracer.”

    “Take it.”

Gu Xi pushed the bracer forward, handing it to the Death Knight.

As he received the bracer, the Death Knight whispered to Gu Xi, “Be careful of those Undead Mages. They are the bullies of the Scattered Immortals’ Garden. You’ve offended them, and things won’t be peaceful from now on.”

    “What’s going on?”

    Gu Xi was now curious.

The Death Knight shook his head, glanced at the still-drinking frail Undead Mage, and quickly left.

Gu Xi noticed that the frail Undead Mage had already drunk half the potions.

Due to drinking so many potions, his stomach was noticeably swollen. The effects of the various potions were also affecting him, making his face even paler.

Large beads of sweat trickled down his face.

But the Undead Mage didn’t care, continuing to drink the potions.

Gu Xi finally understood the problem.

He was about to stop the Undead Mage—many of those potions hadn’t been identified, and drinking them might be fatal—when a Death Knight nearby asked:

“Comrade, how about I trade this for a Skeleton Warhorse?”

This interruption prevented Gu Xi from approaching the frail Undead Mage. He turned to the Death Knight and the item he was offering:

A large, green glowing gemstone, about the size of a person’s head. The green light seemed almost repulsive to the Death Knight himself.

    [Unintelligible gibberish removed]

Seeing Gu Xi approach, the Death Knight placed the gemstone on the ground for inspection.

Just then, as if the potions had taken effect, the frail Undead Mage, clutching his stomach, stumbled over.

    “Don’t take that.”

As he walked, he poured the last few potions into his mouth.

Gu Xi looked at the Undead Mage with surprise.

    “Why?”

The Undead Mage didn’t explain but kept pouring potions into his mouth.

After drinking all the potions, he covered his mouth to prevent them from being spat out.

Gu Xi wanted to help him to the side.

The Death Knight didn’t know what to do.

When the Undead Mage recovered, he spoke, “That gemstone is a cursed object. It brings daily benefits but demands even more in offerings.

It can’t be discarded or destroyed. Only if someone is willing to take it, can it be passed on.

    Am I right?”

The Undead Mage looked at the Death Knight.

The Death Knight looked helpless but finally nodded.

“That’s right. I didn’t want to, but I saw that you have a Death Avatar and are a kind person. I thought this little thing wouldn’t be a problem for you.”

He had a Death Avatar, but what did “kind person” mean?

    Gu Xi was completely baffled.

Then, the frail Undead Mage spoke, “You were going to give him this because he helped me, right?”

    Gu Xi’s eyes narrowed.

    “Is that so?”

Stared at by Gu Xi, the Death Knight took a step back, avoiding his gaze.

    “Get lost!”

Seeing his expression, Gu Xi understood. He shouted, then waved to the others.

“Everyone leave! I’m not selling the Skeleton Warhorses anymore. Get out, get out! If you dare to scheme against me again, I’ll let the Death Avatar bite you to death!”
