    Buzz!

Passing the first pier, Gu Xi heard the twang of a bowstring.

He looked towards the sound and found the Skeleton Archer leader, who had just joined his team, leading 29 Skeleton Archers under his command, launching ranged attacks against strange enemies on the pier.

Looking at the peculiar ships docked at the pier, and the group of Coral People covered in seaweed trying to disembark and attack, Gu Xi remembered this was the most troublesome of the three piers.

    The Mysterious Pier.

It seemed this shipload of Coral People was the strange force attacking the Alierdo City pier district.

They came to rob, and after landing, immediately began transforming the ground into coral, preparing to charge towards the nearby Pier Warehouse.

The Skeleton Soldiers originally stationed there to patrol hadn’t even reacted before being turned into coral statues by these strange Coral People.

As a result, the number of strange Coral People who had initially charged from the ship increased from 6 to 18.

If the Skeleton Archer leader hadn’t received the news and brought his troops to deal with the threat, the number of these strange Coral People would have been even greater.

    Now, however…

From what Gu Xi saw, the situation was under control.

The Skeleton Archer leader’s performance was quite impressive.

His judgment of the battlefield was excellent, and he had several attack strategies. Although he couldn’t speak, a simple gesture was enough to make his Skeleton Archers perform different attacks synchronously, without needing precise commands.

Gu Xi witnessed coordinated, area-of-effect arrow volleys and three-shot bursts fired in waves.

These were tactics Gu Xi couldn’t achieve when commanding Skeleton Archers himself.

Gu Xi’s commands to his Skeleton Archers were limited to telling them who to attack; how they attacked was entirely up to chance.

This was different. Gu Xi found the Skeleton Archer leader effortlessly handling the situation.

The initially arrogant Coral People were forcefully suppressed 150 meters away from the Skeleton Archers, unable to advance a single step.

If the Skeleton Archer leader hadn’t been training his subordinates’ coordination, he would have already eliminated all the Coral People.

Upon Gu Xi’s arrival, the Skeleton Archer leader immediately perked up, clearly aware Gu Xi was observing; he wanted to showcase his abilities.

With a wave of his hand, the previously stationary Skeleton Archer units advanced.

Their movements were similar to those of Combat Team 1’s spear-wielding Skeletons—repetitively executing a set of precise actions.

They stepped forward, drew their bows, fired, and passed their arrows to the rear, allowing the next archers to advance.

These waves of attacks were like a tide.

Each volley claimed two or three Coral People. Within seven or eight volleys, all the Coral People were pinned to the pier.

When these Coral People were killed, their bodies quickly shrunk, leaving behind only various colored corals.

The strange ship docked at the pier had lowered its sails and begun sinking into the water.

Gu Xi observed the ship’s sinking speed, estimating it could stay afloat for about a day. It seemed to be a pre-set mechanic: the time to defeat the crew and loot the ship was about a day.

“Luna, I’ll wait here. Go get Kaien to send someone to carry the goods.”

Luna immediately left, while Gu Xi, holding the Fragmentation Rod, jumped onto the strange ship.

The ship was clearly one that had been submerged for countless years, having fused with the coral.

At least the deck had completely coralled. When Gu Xi stepped on it, he could distinctly feel a strange force emanating from beneath his feet, seemingly attempting to transform him into a Coral Person.

However, Gu Xi’s current strength was sufficient. He plunged the Fragmentation Rod into the deck, activating its protective mode. Five-meter-long vines lashed out, constantly striking the ground.

Simultaneously, numerous metal pieces, like flying knives, crisscrossed and pierced the surface.

After seven or eight strikes, a large hole was created in the deck where Gu Xi stood. He could see a leaky hold beneath, containing a coral-encrusted treasure chest.

Half the chest was already submerged.

Gu Xi understood that if he hadn’t broken through the deck, once the chest fully sank, he would have missed this strange treasure chest.

Gu Xi grasped the Fragmentation Rod; its vines wrapped around him, carrying him to the chest.

Upon contact, Gu Xi felt the coral come alive, trying to prevent him from opening it.

But Gu Xi wasn’t about to let them stop him. Seeing their resistance, he casually drew the Fragmentation Rod and struck down with force.

This blow repelled the encroaching coral.

Seizing the opportunity, Gu Xi opened the chest.

[You opened a mysterious treasure chest.]

[Sacred Relic (Level 1): A unique in-game item; each game has a total of 5-10 sacred relics. Placing them in a city enhances city attributes. They occupy an auxiliary building slot, but their quality is equivalent to a Special Building.]

    “I…”

Looking at the chest, Gu Xi was speechless.

He didn’t notice anything else; he only saw the words “Sacred Relic.”

Gu Xi had heard about these during his school days.

Each game produces 5 to 10 Sacred Relics, but nobody knows where they’re hidden or how to obtain them.

They aren’t obtained through quests but rely on luck.

Sometimes, with a stroke of luck, even a stone picked up on the roadside can be a Sacred Relic.

Gu Xi’s luck had apparently arrived. Though he didn’t know what this Sacred Relic was, its existence was enough for him.
