Chapter 141: The Dragon Bone Laboratory (Subscription Request)

“Amazing!” Gu Xi watched Darosning haggle incessantly, the smugglers nodding repeatedly as gold coin after gold coin changed hands. He was quite impressed.

He admired someone who could, and dared to, bargain so effectively.

After all, Gu Xi himself wasn’t someone who haggled.

If he liked something and the price was within his acceptable range, he’d buy it directly.

The concept of bargaining never even entered his mind.

This scene was a real lesson for Gu Xi.

He pondered whether he should learn some bargaining techniques. Aside from other things, improving his accounting and communication skills might lead to cheaper purchases.

While Gu Xi was still considering this, Darosning approached him.

“Sir, mission accomplished! All the gold coins have been sold. The total is 9873 negative energy points. We need to deduct a 10% tax, totaling 988 negative energy points. This is for market maintenance and upgrades – it’s unavoidable, regardless of who does the selling. The remaining 8885 negative energy points are all here.”

Gu Xi immediately turned to Luna.

    “Sir, it’s enough.”

Luna, understanding Gu Xi’s unspoken question from his expression, quickly responded.

    “Let’s go!”

At Luna’s words, she swiftly floated outwards. Gu Xi, neglecting all else, jumped onto the Demon Coffin and followed.

Gu Xi had already confirmed with Luna that the required resources for the Dragon Bone Laboratory were complete.

Everything else was secondary; the Dragon Bone Laboratory was the priority.

After leaving the pier area, Gu Xi and Luna quickly split up.

Luna headed to the council hall, as building construction required issuing commands there.

Gu Xi, meanwhile, went to the location of the captured walrus graveyard.

After annexing the pier district and the abandoned old city district, Alierdo City now possessed six large land plots.

With the abandoned old city district transformed into the Hundred-Armed Giant Burial Ground District, two large plots acquired corresponding attributes.

Dimitri’s addition directly allocated these two large plots.

Of the remaining four large plots, three were occupied by the Evil Church, the White Bone Evil Temple, and the Skeleton Swordsman Camp.

The remaining vacant lot was conveniently located in the pier district.

Gu Xi originally planned to place the Dragon Bone Laboratory there.

However, the recent transport troop expedition unexpectedly resulted in the annexation of the walrus graveyard, which now seemed a more suitable location in Gu Xi’s eyes.

So, before arriving, Gu Xi and Luna had agreed that if sufficient resources accumulated during his absence, the Dragon Bone Laboratory would be built on the large vacant land of the walrus graveyard.

Now that Luna was arranging the construction, Gu Xi naturally needed to inspect the walrus graveyard.

This was related to his Three God Skills synergy, and he wanted to see it for himself.

Riding the Demon Coffin, after traveling a section of submerged road, Gu Xi quickly found the walrus graveyard.

Upon approaching, Gu Xi was surprised by the current state. It was as if the bottom of White Star Lake had been overturned.

The lake water, initially incorporated during the merging, had ravaged half of the pier district, yet the walrus graveyard, previously submerged, was now unexpectedly dry. It occupied a sandy area on the opposite riverbank, roughly half the size of the pier district.

Upon arrival, Gu Xi saw walrus corpses buried in the mud.

The walrus had likely expended their last strength reaching this point before death. Their arrival was an accomplishment in itself; expecting them to choose a favorable burial spot was unrealistic.

Consequently, the walrus corpses lay scattered, some piled atop others.

Most had become skeletons; some, buried too long, were reduced to dust.

The chaotic walrus graveyard didn’t surprise Gu Xi; it was typical of the undead.

His attention was drawn to a huge corpse lying in the center of the graveyard.

That was the walrus matriarch originally crushed by the Death Avatar in White Star Lake.

Gu Xi initially thought the corpse had decomposed in the lake water.

This was not the case; the corpse had been dragged to Alierdo City.

    This unexpected boon surprised him.

Gu Xi tapped his frost staff lightly against the Demon Coffin, guiding it towards the walrus matriarch’s corpse.

Upon reaching the corpse, Gu Xi realized he’d overestimated its utility. It remained the same corpse, but it was no longer a product of his kill, and he couldn’t decompose it.

Looking at the massive corpse, Gu Xi sighed regretfully.

“Such a fine corpse! So big, it would fit perfectly with the attributes of the Hundred-Armed Giant Burial Ground District.”

As soon as Gu Xi finished speaking, a white light descended from the heavens, creating a 500-meter diameter circle centered on the walrus matriarch’s corpse.

Gu Xi, being relatively close, was swiftly pushed outside the circle. He then saw a large plume of dust obscuring his vision.

Gu Xi instantly understood: Luna had returned to the council hall and begun constructing the Dragon Bone Laboratory. She must have used construction stones to compress the construction time from days to minutes.

    This explained the current scene.

He hadn’t expected the Dragon Bone Laboratory to be centered on the walrus matriarch’s corpse; it was slightly embarrassing.

Understanding the situation, Gu Xi settled onto the Demon Coffin, watching the changes unfold. The dust gradually settled, revealing the Dragon Bone Laboratory.

The Dragon Bone Laboratory’s style differed entirely from other buildings in Alierdo City. The base retained a brick structure, but the upper part resembled a dragon’s nest of mud and bones.

The walrus matriarch’s head was pierced by a ten-meter-long black wooden stake, serving as a gatepost for the laboratory.

A three-meter-high staircase led to the entrance. Beyond it lay the interior of the Dragon Bone Laboratory.
