Chapter 25: The Changes in the Council Hall (Seeking More Readers)

“You came at just the right time. I have an idea regarding this city.”

Gu Xi saw Luna enter and also wanted to discuss his plans for Alierdo City.

Hearing Gu Xi, Luna smiled happily.

After gaining partial control of Alierdo City, Gu Xi felt that Luna’s entire ghostly being had changed. Although she still looked like a ghost, the low pressure that had previously enveloped her was gone.

Her entire spectral form appeared more agile and vibrant.

“Then, my lord, please speak first.”

“Luna, this is what I’m thinking. Now, a third of Alierdo City is ours. While we don’t have enough strength yet, we have time.

Consider this: We should first construct the city walls and gates. Then, once our forces are sufficient, we can take the remaining two-thirds of the city.

I can’t constantly oversee these matters. The internal arrangements of Alierdo City will need your handling.”

As soon as Gu Xi finished speaking, Luna responded.

“My lord, I was about to suggest the same thing. We haven’t yet fully consolidated the territory we currently possess; launching another offensive is risky. I also thought we should prioritize constructing smaller buildings like the city walls and gates.

Once we have sufficient troops, we can strike again and conquer the other areas of Alierdo City.”

“Haha, it seems we’re on the same page.”

Gu Xi was increasingly pleased with Luna.

At this moment, Luna added another point.

“By the way, my lord, we can do this in Alierdo City because we’ve already established a foothold here, but other places are different. In Victoria City, my lord needs to establish an anchor point.”

Hearing Luna, Gu Xi paused for a moment.

“Is there something different about Victoria City?”

“My lord, do you remember those people who were used as sacrifices, and the cultists who were preparing a blood sacrifice to offer to my lord?”

    Gu Xi nodded affirmatively.

“I remember. They were the ones who ambushed me. If I hadn’t entered Alierdo City, I would have eradicated them completely.”

“My lord, while I was securing control over this part of Alierdo City, I observed some things and learned about some changes happening in Alierdo City.

Because of the cultists’ blood sacrifice, the big shot who was sent to Alierdo City didn’t actually die.

What died was this less than three-square-kilometer Alierdo City.”

Luna’s words were somewhat vague, and Gu Xi didn’t immediately understand.

“Wait, is there something wrong here?”

“Yes. Initially, the mirrored city was only this three-square-kilometer Alierdo City.

The British royal family intended to exile and starve that big shot to death.

But who would have thought that the big shot still had such a group of cultists? Whether it was for power or for other reasons, they spread the word about the mirrored palace.

This caused the concept of the mirrored palace to become widely known. If that were all, it would have been fine.

However, the British royal family has suffered a series of misfortunes these years. Their deaths have lent a mysterious aura to the legend of the mirrored palace.

And the cultists’ blood sacrifices provided the mirrored palace with the energy it needed.

Therefore, for all these years, this space has been continuously replicating Victoria City.”

At this point, Luna sighed, “My lord, you might not believe it, but the reason why this three-square-kilometer Alierdo City has become a dead city…

…is because the area corresponding to its old city no longer exists. A new city has emerged, and the abandoned old city has naturally died.”

After Luna’s explanation, Gu Xi understood the situation.

    He also understood Luna’s intentions.

“You mean if I only want this three-square-kilometer area, then returning now is fine. But if I want a city the size of Victoria City, I must set an anchor point in the real world.

And then strike from the real world into the new Alierdo City?”

“Yes. In the visions I saw, this city has undergone six transformations. No matter which transformation we conquer, it will be larger than this current city.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi’s eyes lit up. “Alright, I know what to do. Let me first handle the affairs in Alierdo City, and then I’ll immediately go to Victoria City to establish an anchor point.”

Seeing Gu Xi’s agreement, Luna said nothing more, simply nodding in confirmation. She then followed behind Gu Xi, explaining the newly transformed Council Hall.

Although it’s become a functional building, the structure of the two-story building hasn’t fundamentally changed.

The functions have merely shifted slightly. The restaurant on the ground floor is now the council chamber, with a map of Alierdo City displayed. If Gu Xi needs to, he can deploy troops using the map.

Gu Xi can also use the map to understand various information about Alierdo City and its surroundings.

The kitchen on the left is gone, replaced by a design and storage area for building blueprints. Any construction within Alierdo City must obtain blueprints from here.

On the right is the staircase leading to the second floor. Underneath the stairs is a display cabinet, currently empty. However, Gu Xi understands that it’s meant for storing some of his spoils of war.

Of course, if Gu Xi doesn’t consider Alierdo City his main city, then it’s likely meant to store Luna’s spoils of war.

Going up the stairs to the second floor, there are three rooms.

The room where Luna recovered her memories used to be a child’s room. It is now sealed with ice, accessible only to Luna; no one else can enter.

Besides this room, there’s a master bedroom and a guest bedroom, both suitable for living. Besides a bed and a nightstand, the master bedroom has a desk.

Resting here for just two hours will fully restore Gu Xi’s health and mana.

Furthermore, there’s a basement beneath the Council Hall, used for storing various documents.

While it may not be immediately necessary, it’s essential to have.

After touring the Council Hall and learning about its various functions, Gu Xi left with Luna.

As they stepped out of the Council Hall’s doors, Gu Xi found that the battlefield had already been cleared.

Because the fighting had ceased, the ghostly spirits did not dare to fully utilize all the ghostly energy orbs. They distributed them according to the agreement made with Gu Xi initially.

One-third was kept for Gu Xi, one-third went to the combat team, and the final third belonged to the individual ghostly spirits.

Seeing the piles of ghostly energy orbs at the Council Hall entrance, Luna suddenly said,

“These can be converted into negative energy points at a one-to-one ratio.”
