Chapter 51: The Power of the Deceitful Mirror (Seeking More Readers!)

“Luna, lure that thing towards the small building, I’ll figure something out.”

Gu Xi said, while running towards the small building. As for the Skeleton Soldiers, with no one commanding them, they continued hacking at the monstrous deer.

Their attacks were insignificant to the monstrous deer; they couldn’t even scratch its core.

Reaching the vicinity of the small building, Gu Xi quickly took out the [Praying Deceitful Mirror].

Gu Xi knew this item could summon a creature below level 5, but he wasn’t sure if he could control the summoned creature.

Therefore, Gu Xi had never considered using the [Praying Deceitful Mirror] until now.

The situation was different now. This monstrous deer’s strength was probably above level 5, a thick-skinned, high-health creature.

With Gu Xi’s current troops, they couldn’t inflict much damage.

Only a level 5 or so creature might stand a chance against the monstrous deer.

Taking out the [Praying Deceitful Mirror], Gu Xi aimed at the monstrous deer’s head and threw it with force.

His throwing skills were decent; the [Praying Deceitful Mirror] landed squarely on the deer’s face.

Then there was a cracking sound.

The [Praying Deceitful Mirror] shattered, and a crystal-like arm emerged from the fragments.

Then, a man, pieced together entirely from crystals, appeared.

Upon appearing, he stood atop the monstrous deer’s head, rotated his head 180 degrees to face Gu Xi, and made a mocking face.

From this action alone, Gu Xi could sense the creature’s killing intent. It seemed his plan had gone awry.

Unexpectedly, feeling something on its face, the monstrous deer slammed its head upward.

The crystal man, still taunting Gu Xi, was instantly thrown to the ground. The monstrous deer then stepped on him, nearly crushing him to pieces.

    This enraged the crystal man.

Initially, the crystal man had intended to attack Gu Xi, but now he had no time for Gu Xi. His target shifted to the monstrous deer.

This crystal man was a creature summoned by Gu Xi. His ability was to turn everything he touched into crystal.

Then, he would smash his enemies. With this method, even a dragon could be dealt with.

Of course, he had a weakness: his body was incredibly fragile; a single hit would shatter him.

And to turn enemies into crystal, he needed direct contact, which is why his level was only 5. Otherwise, with such an ability, he would have long reached level 10.

Having changed his target, the crystal man immediately engaged the monstrous deer. As the monstrous deer stomped down on him again, the crystal man grabbed its leg. His ability activated, and the monstrous deer’s left foreleg instantly turned to crystal.

The monstrous deer continued to stomp, shattering its own left foreleg.

Seeing this, Gu Xi was startled. He didn’t expect the crystal man to be this effective.

This crystal man, it seemed, would also be a formidable foe for Gu Xi in the future.

Having lost its left foreleg, the monstrous deer lost its balance and fell to the ground.

However, the monstrous deer was quite ferocious. Upon falling, it instinctively bit to its left, seizing the crystal man in its mouth.

Despite its deer-like appearance, the monstrous deer’s mouth was clearly that of a carnivore.

With a bite, the crystal man, who had just gained the upper hand, had no time to react before being bitten.

The crystal man reacted quickly. As he was bitten, he firmly planted his hand between the deer’s teeth and activated his ability, turning half of the deer’s teeth into crystal.

But the monstrous deer had its eyes set on the crystal man, giving him no chance to escape. With a powerful bite, it snapped the crystal man in two.

Gu Xi’s hard-earned trump card was rendered useless within minutes.

However, the crystal man didn’t die in vain. His death turned one-third of the monstrous deer’s head into crystal.

This was the best opportunity he created for Gu Xi before his demise.

Seeing this opportunity, Luna unleashed a Banshee’s wail.

Gu Xi didn’t miss the chance either, pointing at the crystal man’s corpse and initiating a Corpse Explosion.

A Banshee’s wail, a sonic attack, is inherently highly destructive against crystal-like substances. Luna’s wail instantly blew away one-third of the monstrous deer’s head.

This truly enraged the monstrous deer. The previously silent creature roared.

But just as it opened its mouth, Gu Xi’s Corpse Explosion detonated. The crystal man’s corpse exploded inside the monstrous deer’s mouth, completely shattering its jaw.

The monstrous deer, ignoring everything else, charged towards Gu Xi on three legs.

Seeing that this attack hadn’t killed the monstrous deer, Gu Xi felt a chill run down his spine.

But he kept his eyes fixed on the monstrous deer. When the monstrous deer ran over the corpse of the giant serpent that had been killed earlier, Gu Xi struck again.

    “Corpse Explosion!”

    Boom!

The giant serpent’s life force was exceptionally strong. Combined with the loss of its foreleg, the monstrous deer was somewhat hampered. The serpent’s explosion detonated from the deer’s belly, and the powerful impact sent the monstrous deer flying.

Although the monstrous deer didn’t fly very high, it crashed heavily into the partially intact small building.

The monstrous deer’s impact was like a bowling ball hitting pins, flattening the remaining structure.

    “Freeze it!”

Seeing Luna about to unleash another Banshee’s wail, Gu Xi made a decision.

The Banshee’s wail’s power was somewhat insufficient; it wouldn’t be enough to deliver another blow. Gu Xi had to consider the possibility of the monstrous deer getting back up.

At the same time, Gu Xi searched the area for corpses to use for another Corpse Explosion. Bone spikes were out of the question; they wouldn’t kill this monstrous deer.

But Corpse Explosion was still worth a try. Perhaps the two Twisted Mage corpses could be used.

Thinking this, Gu Xi pointed at the older Twisted Mage corpse.

    “Take this and charge in.”

As soon as Gu Xi finished speaking, the monstrous deer, which had just demolished the small building, got back on its feet.

It was quite pathetic. At least half of its antlers were broken, and only one-third of its head remained.

The previous explosion had detonated in its belly, leaving a huge wound, with its innards spilling out.

    “Charge, towards its belly!”
