The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 53
by adminChapter 53: Contracted Undead, Shaya (Seeking More Readers!)
“Relax, I can help you.”
Gu Xi patted Shaya’s hand, channeling some negative energy into her body.
Afterwards, Gu Xi didn’t use a soul-summoning technique. Instead, he rambled on about how he had conquered the ruins and killed the twisted mages stationed there.
Gu Xi knew that undead who underwent autonomous transformation retained a degree of intelligence and memory.
Using a soul-summoning technique at this point would destroy the ongoing undead transformation.
Even if Gu Xi couldn’t provide Shaya with a better environment, he wouldn’t sabotage this process.
Under Gu Xi’s soothing words, Shaya’s contorted face gradually smoothed out, and her abdominal wound visibly began to heal.
Just as everything seemed to be going well, Gu Xi suddenly noticed Shaya’s face turning pale, her skin developing numerous corpse spots.
“The transformation is about to fail. How is this possible?”
Gu Xi immediately understood what was happening, but he couldn’t believe his judgment.
Everything had been progressing smoothly, yet it had suddenly taken a nosedive.
“Is it a lack of negative energy?” Gu Xi glanced around. Besides Shaya’s corpse, many human corpses hung around—the twisted mages’ usual experimental materials, food, and even the source of their resurrection energy.
Gu Xi had initially planned to wait for the Skeleton Soldiers to clear the ruins outside before transporting these bodies back to Alerdo City.
Now that Shaya was in trouble, Gu Xi couldn’t afford to wait any longer. He pointed at the corpses and began drawing out the negative energy and death aura they emanated to compensate for Shaya’s loss.
Under Gu Xi’s manipulation, large amounts of black, gray, and purple energy were extracted from the corpses and injected into Shaya’s body.
However, Gu Xi discovered that even with the replenishment of this negative energy, Shaya’s body continued to decay. At this rate, she wouldn’t survive until the transformation was complete; her body would be ruined.
This situation left Gu Xi speechless. While he hadn’t encountered this before, he had always been a top student in his class.
The textbook contained records of various situations encountered during autonomous undead transformations.
The current situation clearly indicated that Shaya’s body was deficient, causing the transformation to fail.
Why wasn’t it working even after he followed the textbook methods?
Just as Gu Xi was at his wit’s end, he suddenly had a thought.
Could the elderly twisted mage, when resurrecting, have extracted Shaya’s life force?
Thinking this, Gu Xi quickly took out a Resurrection Stone.
Sure enough, when the Resurrection Stone was produced, Shaya’s body moved slightly towards it.
This was the undead’s instinctive reaction to a missing part of themselves.
So that was it.
A thought flashed through Gu Xi’s mind. He had originally planned to wait for Shaya to transform into an undead before returning to make a contract with her.
It seemed that wasn’t feasible anymore. He needed to manually intervene and adjust Shaya’s transformation, or this promising prospect would be ruined.
With this in mind, Gu Xi quickly searched through the materials he had on hand.
The materials obtained from killing the twisted mages, along with some items purchased from the flea market, were all taken out.
One plan after another rapidly formed and was just as quickly discarded in Gu Xi’s mind.
Finally, relying on his level 3 Undead Knowledge and level 4 Magic Knowledge, Gu Xi pieced together a viable plan.
Once he confirmed the plan, Gu Xi immediately started working. He knew that Shaya was in a critical condition; every minute was crucial.
Even if Gu Xi’s preparations were successful, the transformation might still fail if he delayed.
Therefore, Gu Xi decisively used everything at his disposal.
He used a large kitchen knife to reopen Shaya’s recently healed wound.
At the same time, Gu Xi removed the Resurrection Stone from his ring and forcefully affixed it to Shaya’s eleventh vertebra.
After securing it, Gu Xi tore the magic-inscribed cloth into strips and tightly bound the Resurrection Stone, ensuring it wouldn’t fall off.
Only after completing this did Gu Xi put Shaya’s internal organs back in place. While replacing her heart, he injected some magically enhanced heart blood.
After carefully positioning all the internal organs, Gu Xi bandaged Shaya’s wound with magic-inscribed cloth, and finally placed the “Dead Mirror” over the wound.
Shaya’s current condition was a lack of both life force and death aura.
Everything had been drained by the Resurrection Stone.
Although Gu Xi planned to use some methods to force out the power within the Resurrection Stone, some things, once lost, were not easy to replenish.
Gu Xi didn’t want to waste such a good material as Shaya, so the “Dead Mirror” was naturally used.
After everything was in place, Gu Xi used blood to draw a magic array on Shaya’s body, and finally dressed her.
Having done all this, Gu Xi took a deep breath and took out the complete souls he had collected, injecting them one by one into Shaya’s body.
As these souls were infused, Shaya’s skin became smooth, turning a grayish-blue, but the previous signs of decay vanished.
At the same time, Shaya’s eyes turned silvery, her pupils and sclera disappearing completely, creating a rather eerie look.
Seeing the change in Shaya, Gu Xi finally breathed a sigh of relief; things were finally heading in a positive direction.
Then, Gu Xi took out a small piece of magic-inscribed cloth and quickly wrote a Necromantic Contract.
The format of Necromantic Contracts was always the same, but without available contract slots, writing it would be pointless; it wouldn’t be recognized by the system.
Gu Xi currently had one Necromantic Contract slot available, so the contract went smoothly.
As he rolled up the Necromantic Contract, Shaya sat up straight from the ground.
Before Shaya could look at Gu Xi, he quickly presented the Necromantic Contract and a pale blue soul orb appeared in his hand.
“My name is Gu Xi. I hope to sign a contract with you and borrow your strength to fight for me.”
“I… am willing to fight for you.”
