After sleeping for over an hour, Gu Xi woke up and immediately checked his surroundings.

Those who had escaped from the cells were huddled together, their faces grim as they stared at the skeleton in front of them, not daring to move.

Even though this skeleton’s bones were thinner than theirs, and a single skeleton couldn’t possibly watch them all, they didn’t dare make the slightest move.

Gu Xi scoffed at their reaction.

If they had dared to make a move while he was sleeping the second time, Gu Xi would have admired their courage.

As it was, they were just a bunch of ordinary people, wanting to reap the rewards without putting in the effort. Cowards.

Gu Xi shook his head and stood up.

“Alright, stop pretending. Get up. If I wanted to hurt you, you’d all be skeletons already.”

The group cautiously looked at Gu Xi.

As soon as they looked up, they saw Luna behind Gu Xi, her hollow eyes glaring at them. The chill in her gaze sent shivers down their spines, causing them to shrink back.

Gu Xi rolled his eyes at them and said to Jack, “The map.”

Jack tried to stall, “Mage, we need to—”

“Stop. I know you have your own plans, but I have my own considerations. Either you lead the way now, or I turn you into a skeleton to lead the way.”

Jack immediately shut his mouth and obediently led the way.

The few people in the room exchanged glances, their unwillingness evident. After a moment’s hesitation, they followed suit.

Following Jack, Gu Xi and his companions quickly arrived at the entrance to the hidden passage.

Before they could open the mechanism leading to the outer corridor, they heard knocking sounds from outside.

Gu Xi gestured, and Luna phased through the wall, appearing on the corridor ceiling.

In the corridor outside, about thirty black-robed cultists were using tools to tap the walls, seemingly searching for undiscovered hidden passages.

Behind these black-robed cultists, a cultist who clearly acted as their leader was shouting.

“Be thorough! Every inch of this wall must be checked! I don’t care what methods you use, but you must find those human sacrifices who escaped. Otherwise, you’ll be the ones stripped naked and brought to the altar during the sacrifice.”

Luna glanced at them and moved toward a nearby underground space.

The traces of Gu Xi’s previous battle with the black-robed cultists had not been cleaned up. While the surviving cultists had returned to the abandoned gate, their numbers were significantly reduced.

Meanwhile, at other entrances to the underground space, more black-robed cultists were dragging newcomers to stand before the gate, seemingly to replenish their ranks.

While Luna went out, Gu Xi didn’t idle. He handed his curved sword to the skeleton beside him and carefully sharpened his dagger. With each sharpening stroke, he glanced at Jack, who was terrified.

Just then, Luna reappeared, her hollow gaze sweeping over Jack, causing him to gasp for a scream.

Gu Xi quickly covered Jack’s mouth. “They’re looking for us outside! Do you want to die?”

Once Jack calmed down, Gu Xi turned to Luna.

    “What’s the situation outside?”

“Only thirty-odd people in the corridor. Not strong!”

    “Then, the old trick.”

Gu Xi brandished his dagger and forcefully opened the mechanism of the hidden passage.

A black-robed cultist who was tapping the wall hadn’t reacted before a dagger plunged into his brain.

[Killed Cultist (Level 1), gained 12 experience points.]

Then the skeleton charged forward, its curved sword slashing at another nearby black-robed cultist.

The cultists tapping the wall froze. They hadn’t expected Gu Xi to attack as soon as he appeared. For a moment, they were caught off guard, and the skeleton managed to kill one.

[Skeleton (Summon) killed Cultist (Level 1), you gained 1 experience point, summon gained 6 experience points.]

The enemy then reacted, and their leader yelled, “Shield bearers, surround them! Watch out for corpse explosions…”

Gu Xi, having already learned the leader’s location from Luna, had dashed forward seven or eight steps while the skeleton was killing. Seeing the distance was right, Gu Xi threw three daggers simultaneously with both hands.

The cultist leader didn’t expect Gu Xi to attack him first in this situation. He hadn’t considered his own defense at all, and only reacted when he saw the glint of the daggers.

He quickly dodged to the side, but it was too late. Gu Xi’s three-dagger throw was precisely calculated.

The first dagger activated the leader’s defensive item. The second forced a dodge in a certain direction, setting up the third and killing blow, which landed squarely in the leader’s neck.

[Killed Cultist Leader (Level 2, Elite), gained 42 experience points.]

[You completed a three-hit throwing combo and successfully killed the enemy, gaining 40 throwing experience points.]

With the leader dead, the black-robed cultists panicked, rushing towards their leader’s body.

Seeing them bunch together, Gu Xi was about to use Corpse Explosion, but hesitated and changed his incantation from Corpse Explosion to Summoning.

In the next instant, the cultist leader’s body exploded, and a stronger skeleton rose from the bloody mess. Pulling out the dagger from its neck, the skeleton turned and stabbed a cultist running toward it.

[You successfully used Summoning, gained one Skeleton Leader (Level 0), Summoning experience +1.]

[Skeleton Leader (Level 0, Summon): Experience (0/500) Attack 2, Defense 1, Health 15, Skills: Combat Elite, Squad Command (30 people).]

[Skeleton Leader (Summon) killed Cultist (Level 1), you gained 1 experience point, summon gained 4 experience points.]
