Chapter 86: Exile Battle (Subscription Request)
As Luna entered the abandoned old city district, she immediately felt a sense of unease. It felt as if some force was trying to influence her mind, urging her into the abandoned laboratory.
However, the entities within the laboratory didn’t understand the nature of Luna’s being. As Gu Xi’s Contracted Undead, no one could bypass Gu Xi’s influence on her mind.
As for the Death Avatar and Ghostly Spirits Luna brought with her, they were entirely unaffected by mental powers. Trying to control them into the laboratory with mental power would be less effective than a simple necromantic spell.
Luna clearly noticed this discrepancy but ignored it. At this moment, she knew exactly what she wanted.
She arrived at the heart of the abandoned old city, its core. This was the first place she had integrated when merging with the abandoned old city.
As the city spirit of Alierdo City, Luna could borrow the power of the entire city.
However, she still had much to do. Displacing certain buildings wasn’t something she could achieve instantly.
The ten Ghostly Spirits Luna brought were positioned strategically, each holding a mirror aimed at the three laboratories slated for displacement.
Luna divided the spirits into four teams; three teams of three, each targeting a laboratory, while one hovered above her head, controlling the mirrors in three directions simultaneously.
This ensured Luna remained grounded while maintaining visual contact with all three laboratories.
After all preparations, Luna raised the mirror she held, and the aura of Frostbite Touch emanated from it, directed towards the ghostly spirit above her.
This aura, relayed through the mirror, reached the three laboratories. Then, Luna issued her command:
“By mirrored reflection, exile these three buildings.”
As Luna spoke, mirrors formed from ice appeared above the three laboratories, steadily pressing downwards. Behind these mirrors, the image of Alierdo City was clearly visible.
However, this Alierdo City was different from the abandoned old city, indicating that Gu Xi’s Alierdo City had embarked on a new path.
Luna didn’t dwell on the situation in Alierdo City. In her mind, if Gu Xi disliked these three laboratories, then exile them—simple as that.
Any trouble these three laboratories might cause in Alierdo City was certainly none of Alierdo City’s concern.
As the mirrors descended, the laboratories, still in operation, sensed the impending danger.
Each laboratory unleashed its stored experimental products.
The sky above the Giant Mountain Spirit Technology Laboratory changed color, and countless ghostly spirits with many arms and eyes appeared, attempting to impede the descending mirrors.
The Guli Genetic Engineering Laboratory reacted more directly, releasing a multitude of synthetic creatures. These were nightmarish hybrids of various beasts and humanoids, their appearance alone confirming their unnatural origins.
The Shixi Mysterious Object Laboratory released the strangest assortment—an arsenal of weapons, appearing as if a weapon vault had been opened, with the added peculiarity that the weapons seemed to possess sentience.
These entities from the laboratories immediately surged towards the ice mirrors in the sky, trying to halt their descent.
At this moment, Luna and the Ghostly Spirits were immobilized; only the Bone Dragon form of the Death Avatar could act.
Far from being frightened by the sheer number of enemies, he was exhilarated. The Death Avatar transformed into a black mist, charging towards the ghostly spirits with numerous arms and eyes.
These spirits were in Old Gu’s ghostly style—cloaked figures with bony frames underneath.
But they were far larger than typical ghosts.
Even the smallest were five or six meters tall, their black robes revealing numerous waving arms. When the robes billowed in the wind, one or two eyeballs could be seen rotating on each ribcage.
Their presence altered the surrounding air; the already heavy Yin energy intensified with their arrival.
Thus, the Death Avatar chose these spirits as his first targets.
The spirits, caught off guard by such an unexpected enemy, were still heading towards the sky mirrors when the Death Avatar, in his mist form, collided with them, scattering them.
Then, the Death Avatar opened its maw, seizing the spirits and tearing off their black robes with a violent shake of its head.
This enraged the spirits; they abandoned their attack on the mirrors and swarmed the Death Avatar, tearing at its form.
But the Death Avatar’s level was exceptionally high, its body having undergone at least three enhancements. Its bones were harder than steel, and the black mist covering its body was exceptionally thick and impenetrable.
The spirits’ assault only brought them closer to their demise.
Had there been only one Death Avatar, this assault alone might have decimated the spirits.
Even if the spirits didn’t die so quickly, the losses would still be significant. The Death Avatar seized the spirits’ weakness, killing one with a few bites. Each kill noticeably darkened the Death Avatar’s form.
Most importantly, the Death Avatar didn’t need to eliminate all the spirits; its task was to disrupt their efforts to stop the ice mirrors.
The spirits’ distraction slowed the mirrors’ descent; soon, they began to contact the laboratory roofs.
The instant the ice mirrors touched the roof of the Giant Mountain Spirit Technology Laboratory, the building began to tremble violently. An identical laboratory appeared on the other side of the mirror.
The spirits attacking the Death Avatar panicked; they abandoned their assault and surged towards the mirrors, hoping to halt their further descent or transformation.
What they didn’t anticipate was that as they turned, they passed through the ice mirrors and were transported into Alierdo City.
At this point, the Death Avatar abandoned its assault on the Giant Mountain Spirit Technology Laboratory and flew towards the Guli Genetic Engineering Laboratory.
