Only two thousand soldiers garrisoned Icewind City—Silver Mountain Earl’s entire army. They were elite, professional soldiers, well-trained. In addition, on the city’s main roads, there was a two-hundred-strong squad of Highland Warhorse Heavy Cavalry, the Silver Mountain Earl’s trump card, the “Silver Charge Squadron.” These heavy cavalrymen all wielded lances and were accompanied by cavalry attendants.
