The Wizard: Grinding Experience Starting with Knight Breathing Techniques 57
by adminChapter 0057: [The Spider’s Kiss] and a New Skill: [Pharmacology] (Seeking Follows)
Besides the Black Snake Breathing Method, my forging and Golden Cross Slash skills have improved significantly, but I’m still some time away from a breakthrough.
In short, I believe that entering the intermediate Knight rank before the end of the year is a sure thing. My strength will then experience a qualitative leap.
After finishing my breathing method cultivation, I took out the Human-Faced Spider Breathing Method.
I’ve had this breathing method since I obtained it, but I haven’t cultivated it yet.
Now that my Sea Demon Breathing Method is at level four, and the “Shrink Bone and Change Shape” special effect is unlocked. Overall, the purpose of cultivating the Sea Demon Breathing Method has been achieved. Next, I’ll slowly grind it to level five, upgrading the “Beginner Speed” special effect to “Intermediate Speed.”
Now, I have time to grind a new breathing method.
Between the Giant Bear Breathing Method and the Human-Faced Spider Breathing Method, I decided to prioritize the Human-Faced Spider Breathing Method.
Although I can cultivate both the Human-Faced Spider and Giant Bear Breathing Methods simultaneously, time is limited now. To quickly grind the Human-Faced Spider Breathing Method to level four, even if I spend time learning the Giant Bear Breathing Method, I won’t have time to grind its experience. After all, the Black Snake, Sea Demon Breathing Methods, and Golden Cross Slash alone consume a lot of my time, not to mention forging.
Cultivating too many breathing methods simultaneously will lead to mediocrity and scattered focus.
It’s better to focus on mastering one, quickly grinding it to level four to unlock its special effect, and then move on to the next.
When I have more and more breathing methods to cultivate and my cultivation speed increases, I should be able to grind many breathing methods simultaneously.
I’m very interested in the Human-Faced Spider Breathing Method’s effects.
Although the Red Spider Knight seems weak, that’s because she doesn’t have other main combat breathing methods besides the Human-Faced Spider Breathing Method.
But I’m different. I have the level four Black Snake Breathing Method, Frost Wolf Breathing Technique, Sea Demon Breathing Method, and the powerful Golden Cross Slash!
I don’t lack combat power.
I counted the Human-Faced Spider Breathing Method’s inheritance diagram. It has thirty-five small human figures, arranged in various actions and poses surrounding a central human-faced spider.
After cultivating many breathing methods during this time, I’ve discovered a pattern: the higher the quality of the breathing method, the more small human figures are on its inheritance diagram.
The Black Snake Breathing Method has seventy-one small figures, the Sea Demon Breathing Method has twenty-six, and the lowest-quality Frost Wolf Breathing Technique only has sixteen.
The Giant Bear Breathing Method, which I haven’t cultivated yet, has nineteen.
I speculate that if a breathing method is perfect or even legendary, the number of small figures will increase significantly. At the same time, this means that the time and difficulty of cultivation will also skyrocket.
I immersed my mind in cultivating the Human-Faced Spider Breathing Method. This is a bloodline breathing method, and it takes some time to learn.
Until I was exhausted and could no longer cultivate.
I then started studying the secret poison recipes on the back of the Human-Faced Spider Breathing Method inheritance diagram.
This diagram records three poison recipes and their corresponding antidotes.
I didn’t have time to study them before. Now that I have, I’ve found that these three poison recipes are particularly useful.
These six precious materials are difficult to obtain. Although not as rare as Dragon Saliva Fragrance, they’re not easily acquired either.
Fortunately, the bottles and jars on the Red Spider Knight’s chest contained some leftover materials, which should last a while. After all, I intend to use them against humans, not giant earth dragons, so I won’t need large doses.
I feel that the third poison is the most valuable because I can use it to control others by exploiting their fear of death.
Poison making is different from my Black Snake Potion.
The Black Snake Potion is simply mixing the raw materials together, but the three poisons described in the Human-Faced Spider diagram require real alchemy skills. Fortunately, the diagram provides detailed methods, and the Red Spider Knight added many notes, all of which have benefited me.
I spent several days preparing the alchemy equipment and various raw materials. I turned my shelter into a chemistry lab, or rather, like the lair of an evil witch in some films.
Then, I embarked on my first alchemy journey.
Of course, the poisons I made weren’t “Human-Faced Spider Tears” and “Human-Faced Spider Kiss.” The materials for those two poisons are too rare and not easy to obtain. My initial alchemy attempts would inevitably involve a lot of failure and waste.
In comparison, the materials for “Human-Faced Spider Breath” are easy to find. They are relatively common materials, and the cost of making one dose is only about one silver coin, which I can afford.
I put on my Death Bird mask, lit the alcohol lamp, and blue flames rose.
I began heating the alchemy vessel, adding the materials step-by-step according to the recipe, controlling the temperature, stirring, adding water…
Suddenly, with a bang, dust flew, and hot liquid splashed.
Fortunately, I was wearing the Death Bird mask, so the poisonous liquid didn’t splash on my face.
“It exploded, I knew it would.”
I wasn’t discouraged. I cleaned up the mess and continued. I had prepared plenty of equipment.
After seven failed attempts, I finally successfully created my first poison.
At the bottom of the vessel, a mass of powder, like coarse salt, solidified there.
This is “Human-Faced Spider Breath.” When burned, it produces colorless and odorless poisonous gas. It can also be scattered like quicklime, entering the respiratory system to affect the enemy.
At the same time, while immersed in alchemy, I was surprised to discover a new skill on my proficiency panel:
Pharmacology: Level 1 (70/1000)
