Chapter 0007 The Lord of the Wilderness and the Wilderness Brothers Association (Seeking more reads)

    Levi Snike—————

Black Snake Breathing Method: Second Stage (5/5000)

Golden Cross Slash: First Stage (1/1000), Special Effect: Basic Tremor

After three days, he finally mastered the Golden Cross Slash. However, Levi looked at the newly added “Special Effect” section on his status panel.

    “Special Effect?”

This was the first time Levi had encountered this.

Clearly, “Basic Tremor” referred to the “power of tremor” that Sir Fred mentioned, the strongest aspect of the Golden Cross Slash. It’s an extremely ingenious power application technique that makes the knight’s sword vibrate at high speed, achieving the effect of cutting through iron like mud.

“This also shows that this Golden Cross Slash technique is incredibly advanced. It actually has a special effect at just the first stage. Even the second-stage Black Snake Breathing Method doesn’t have any special effects.”

Levi was shocked, wondering where Sir Fred had learned such an overpowered sword technique. He now seriously suspected that the creator of this genius sword technique was at least a Great Knight, or perhaps even a legendary…Legendary Knight!

Having learned the sword technique, Levi was overjoyed and eager to train to the limit immediately. He pressed on and practiced the Golden Cross Slash several more times.

He had only initially grasped the method of using the tremor power. He could only generate a very weak tremor, and it required a long time to build up power. In a real fight, before he could even use the tremor, he’d be dead. Therefore, more practice was needed.

    [Golden Cross Slash Proficiency +3]

    [Golden Cross Slash Proficiency +2]

    [……]

Perhaps because he had just mastered it, the Golden Cross Slash had a lot of room for improvement. With each practice session, Levi increased his proficiency by at least two points.

He only stopped when his stomach started rumbling. After resting and eating, he ran into Sir Fred, who had just returned from training the militia.

“Young Master has mastered the tremor power?” Sir Fred asked, noticing Levi’s happy expression.

Levi nodded. Mastering the tremor power in three days wasn’t too difficult; it was average. The gap between initial mastery and peak perfection was enormous; Levi had only just begun. Moreover, Levi had a foundation in swordsmanship; he was the man who grinded basic swordsmanship to max level.

The tremor power was just the most basic power application technique of the Golden Cross Slash. Even those with poor swordsmanship talent could master it with enough practice.

The Ripple Power and the Spin Power were progressively more difficult.

Sir Fred smiled. “Excellent swordsmanship talent. Your father took two days to master it.”

Levi immediately felt a sense of frustration. He didn’t expect his swordsmanship talent to be inferior to his father’s.

“Sir Fred, how long did it take you?” Levi asked.

Sir Fred held up two fingers.

    “Two days?”

    “No, two tries…”

    “…Nevermind.”

Levi was deeply discouraged. Was this true swordsmanship genius? He had practiced nearly a hundred times in three days to barely master it. Sir Fred, however, had done it in just one try.

At that moment, he profoundly felt the gap between genius and ordinary people. Even someone as strong as Sir Fred had been stuck at the Ripple stage for twenty years, still without hope of grasping the Spin Power. Levi didn’t dare to imagine what it would be like for an ordinary person.

“Luckily, I have the proficiency panel. As long as I keep working hard and stay alive, one day I will reach the Spin realm.” Levi calmed himself.

“By the way, the men I sent to investigate the Wild Boar Gang are back. Guess what?” Sir Fred narrowed his eyes, gazing into the distance. “The Wild Boar Gang has joined the Wilderness Brothers Association.”

“The Wilderness Brothers Association? No wonder that Wild Boar Knight was so arrogant. He found a patron.” Levi sneered.

The Wilderness Brothers Association was a relatively well-known force in the northern part of the kingdom. It was said to be an organization that worships the “Lord of the Wilderness,” mainly composed of wandering knights and bandits roaming the wilderness.

The Wilderness Brothers Association advocates “Return to the Wilderness, Freedom for All” and the doctrine of “All things originate from chaos, and all things return to chaos.” They believe that all things originated from the chaotic wilderness, lived in chaos and disorder, and will ultimately return to chaos. This is the optimal state for all creatures to compete for freedom under the frost of heaven.

The Lord of the Wilderness is the embodiment of [Chaos] in the human world.

To this end, they advocate overthrowing the church and the kingdom’s tyranny, abolishing all power systems, and abolishing the noble feudal system, returning to a primitive, anarchist-like system. Only in this state can all things continuously evolve under the creed of survival of the fittest, eventually leading to everyone becoming a god!

Undoubtedly, this is absolute heresy, making the Wilderness Brothers Association a key target of the church and the kingdom. The organization had disappeared for a long time, but the turmoil caused by the “Millennial Holy War” three years ago left the kingdom and the church unable to deal with these small fry. Now, the organization has resurfaced.

“What do you intend to do?” Sir Fred asked.

Levi said without hesitation, “Let them take care of Old Blacksmith Toby for us for now. Young Blacksmith Milan’s skills are almost there. In a few days, we’ll arrange more apprentices for him. The production of weapons and equipment for the militia cannot be interrupted.”

Sir Fred nodded. “Right, these times are getting increasingly chaotic.”

It wasn’t that Levi was cowardly, but his current strength was far too inferior to the Wilderness Brothers Association. The Wilderness Brothers Association had existed for so long, absorbing many gangs and wandering knights. If it weren’t for the lack of Great Knights, the number of knights in this organization would probably surpass even those of the great earls.

After so many years of dormancy, who could guarantee that the Wilderness Brothers Association didn’t have a Great Knight backing them?

“I’m still too weak. If I had my father’s strength, I would directly charge into the Wild Boar Gang, and the Wilderness Brothers Association wouldn’t dare to stand up for them.”

Levi mocked himself, then returned to his daily training routine.

Holy Radiance Era 1004, Budding Moon (February).

It should have been the season of revival, but Black Water Valley was in the northern region. Although it wasn’t as cold as the Winter Moon, it was still snow-covered. Levi was forced to live in isolation, but fortunately, he could grind experience in the Black Snake Breathing Method and Golden Cross Slash, keeping him constantly busy.

Levi’s daily routine was to practice the breathing method twice in the morning, afternoon, and evening, and to spend the remaining time practicing the Golden Cross Slash.

Breathing method was the foundation, the top priority. But it consumed a lot of his energy, spirit, and the territory’s food supply. The food stored before winter wouldn’t last if he trained the breathing method at full capacity. Levi found the black bread really hard to swallow.

However, at Levi’s current speed, practicing the breathing method six times a day would conservatively yield 15 proficiency points, enough to break through to the third stage and become a quasi-knight within a year.

This speed was already very fast, comparable to his genius father.

As for the Golden Cross Slash, Levi practiced until his body reached its limit. Sword techniques, unlike breathing methods, didn’t have to worry about going into demonic states, so they improved quickly.

Of course, Levi gave himself a rest day each week to allow his over-stressed body a chance to recover. It was only the transformation of the breathing method that made his body unusually strong. For an ordinary person, this level of training would be fatal.

Holy Radiance Era 1004, Life Moon (March). Spring arrived, grass grew, and birds sang.

Levi’s Golden Cross Slash smoothly broke through to the second stage. He immediately checked his panel.
