    **Chapter 69: Backhand**

    Thud!

This was the sound of the figure falling to the ground. A large area of broken bricks and tiles exploded outwards, scattered by the figure’s relentless descent.

    Thud!

This was the sound of Scarecrow’s heart beating, a strange fear rising from his body. It was like the panicked flutter of your heart when you wake up in the middle of the night, or like the cruel laughter of a truth you don’t want to face.

    “It’s you.”

    He said.

The moonlight was bright, and Batman extended his hand. The silver moonlight was actually grasped firmly in his palm!

He swung that silver light, and half of his body dissolved into pure darkness!

“This is impossible!” Scarecrow roared. “Go! Claws! Get him!”

“You still can’t synchronize two Batmen at the same time…”

Bruce Wayne watched as his arm, which had dissolved into silver light, recovered into a tattered bat. It hadn’t transformed into the giant green claws of the Bat-Dragon, as he had hoped.

A sharp pain shot through him, as if protesting his attempt to force the transformation.

“Tsk, anyway, the Tattered Bat is enough to deal with them.”

Bruce Wayne slightly leaned to the side, letting the claws’ fists and blades pierce through his swaying body.

“It’s okay, as long as the torso and brain aren’t injured, I’ll be fine. Nano-Batman is nearly immune to this kind of physical attack.”

He thought silently, then raised his hand:

    “Let’s try this first.”

Tiny, fluttering nano-robots flew towards the claws.

The muscular claw assassins subconsciously raised their arms, but nothing happened.

“Nano-Bats should be able to absorb the genetic profiles of all life forms they touch.”

Bruce Wayne silently thought: “Logically, they should all be eroded by the nano-robots, dissolving like tofu.”

He looked at the unscathed opponent: “But that’s not the case – is it Amber Gold? It’s probably that.

Something is preventing their cells from being taken over by the nano-robots…

Amber Gold has already merged with their cells, and the nano-robots are like ants gnawing on a piece of hard metal. It’s a real nuisance.”

“But that doesn’t mean I’m helpless.”

Bruce Wayne slightly grinned, his cold, amber eyes fixed on them. Even the claw assassins, already corpses for hundreds of years, felt a chill run down their spines.

“If I can’t directly destroy them at the cellular level, then I’ll use brute force.”

The black sand in the air slowly coalesced into blades, like fluttering flags suddenly transforming into delicate ribbons, and then…

    Zzzzt!

    Crrrunch-crunch-crunch-crunch!

A teeth-grinding sound came from the top of the claw assassin’s head. The assassin struggled to attack the part of Bruce Wayne’s body, with fists, blades, and even some kind of martial arts technique that shattered the air…

    But it was all useless.

These things hit the fluttering black ribbons, shattering them, but they were instantly repaired, continuing to increase their strength.

    Crrrunch-crunch-crunch-crunch!

First, the mask on his scalp was split apart. The terrifying, seemingly expressionless owl mask, Batman showed everyone that, as long as the mask was cut in half, underneath there was just a balding, terrified ordinary person.

    Weak like an infant.

“No, no, no, let me go! The Court of Owls… the Court of Owls will…”

The other claws pounced, desperately trying to save their companion.

They grabbed at the fluttering death in the air, as if trying to grasp a wisp of wind, a stream of flowing spring water, a dying scream.

The black silk slid through the gaps between their fingers and the turns of the blades, without a moment’s pause.

    “Attack Batman, he…”

Bruce Wayne soared into the air, 10 meters, just a short distance of 10 meters.

The black sand in the air condensed into his cape, more like wings of death spreading behind him.

All the leaps failed to reach him, and even those who managed to jump high enough to get close were swatted to the ground by giant hands condensed from nano-robots in the air, like a nimble human playfully swatting at a cricket that keeps jumping from the ground.

“Damn it, what’s going on? Quickly attack him, aren’t you the Court of Owls? How can you lose to… damn it, Batman, how could he…”

Scarecrow said: “This isn’t the Batman I know…”

Then, immediately after, his scalp began to crack.

The originally withered, dark golden hair began to leave his skull, inch by inch.

Skin was peeled off, revealing the crimson muscle tissue underneath.

Then, as it cracked further, it gradually turned pale red.

It was the result of the combined action of Amber Gold and Titan Toxin. The blood of these corpses had been diluted by all kinds of miscellaneous things, diluted to a horrifying degree.

Scarecrow was a true potion master. He had actually managed to balance two different things in the same body so perfectly in such a short time.

The strong muscles brought by Titan Toxin and the self-healing ability brought by Amber Gold worked perfectly together, allowing the claw assassins to heal quickly in a short time, and even allow their bodies to actively tear muscle tissue, creating stronger tissue.

But this super healing ability was just torture at this moment.

Muscles that stubbornly tried to piece themselves back together fought against the black nano-robots, the intense pain stimulating the brain that had been frozen in a coffin for hundreds of years, causing it to let out a hysterical, inhuman scream.

    “Aaaagh! Aaaagh! Aaaaagh!”

This sound made the other claws’ hairs stand on end.

    Then came the bones.

White, exposed to the air, and then like cookies, they sank in.

    Crack!

A crack appeared on the white cookie, and then, as if a child had pulled it forcefully, it immediately shattered.

The white milk filling inside the cookie was exposed, mixed with some red strawberry filling, sweet and delicious, mixed together, exuding an impressive aroma.

    “Ugh!”

Poison Ivy made a vomiting gesture.

Bruce Wayne realized that his cruel actions were somewhat uncharacteristic of him. He frowned, then quickly waved his hands.

As the teeth-grinding sound rang out again, this time, there was no slow torture.

The cookie was immediately broken in half.

Plop, the corpse fell to the ground. It was also as if it had hit Scarecrow’s heart.

He turned sharply, grabbing Lincoln March’s collar: “Why? Why were your claws, even though they were injected with Titan Toxin, so easily defeated? I did exactly as you asked!”

He said loudly, “Think of a way! The Court must have a way!”

Lincoln March looked at the ugly sight in front of him with disgust.

This was Scarecrow, a man who worshipped fear, but who was also cowardly and weak. He was simply a slave to fear.

That was why he would never be a top-tier dangerous figure.

“I don’t know either.” Lincoln March said, “You made a deal with the Court behind my back, remember?”

He ignored the other, simply speaking to the image projected on his arm armor, which had already been opened: “So, do you have any preparations?”

The Court member on the image turned sideways and said disdainfully to Scarecrow: “Useless thing.”

    Then he said:

    “Of course, we do.”

The white owl-masked figure slowly said: “The Court of Owls knows all… and can do anything. Our backhand…”

    “He’s coming soon.”

Immediately after, Scarecrow heard the sound of someone slowly clapping.

    “It’s quite a show.”

“Scarecrow, I know you. I didn’t expect the Court to give you my toxin sample for research, and you actually managed to develop the project of combining the toxin and Amber Gold in such a short time… impressive.”

    Recommendation of a friend’s book!
