Su醒 stared at the screen, his face filled with shock. In the previous simulation, he was just a simple farmer, focused on cultivating his land. But in this simulation, he was the protector of the Demon-Suppressing Pass, a fearsome warrior! He had guarded the pass for ten years, honing his swordsmanship for ten more, becoming a slayer of demons, having slain thousands of demon kings!

“Holy cow, am I really that powerful?” Su醒 thought. He never imagined that his future self in the simulator would reach such heights of strength. Of course, this achievement was inseparable from his continuous training and countless battles in the simulation.

While Su醒 was undoubtedly powerful in the real world, achieving the level of a demon king or even a Heavenly King, he still lacked real combat experience. As a result, he would inevitably suffer some losses when facing opponents of the same level. But this simulation had perfectly addressed that flaw.

“Ten years of learning, ten years of refining, twenty years dedicated solely to the sword path. How strong is my swordsmanship now?” He wondered, a burning desire rising within him to experience firsthand the killing art he had honed in the simulation.

    He continued with the simulation.

[Year 22: Your understanding of your sword path has deepened. You seem to grasp the meaning of “Human Sword” described in the Sword Canon’s grand introduction – to slay all enemies in the world, this is the true purpose of sword cultivation.]

[In countless life-and-death situations, in endless slaughter, every strike you deliver carries a murderous intent, intended to kill.]

[But you understand that this intent isn’t the result of mastering sword intent, but rather the accumulated murderous aura from your ten years of bloodshed at the Demon-Suppressing Pass. Now, you must purge this murderous intent from your swordsmanship and master the purest form of sword technique and sword path.]

[You spent a whole year by the side of your sword, “Ink Frost”, practicing the most basic sword techniques every day.]

[You began from the most fundamental moves, starting with chopping and stabbing, gaining new insights with every practice session. Every variation in movement is clear to you.]

[You revisit the old and gain new knowledge, further simplifying the once complex sword techniques. You return to the process of simplifying your sword techniques from your mid-level training.]

[A year has passed. In that year, you swung your sword ten thousand times. Each stroke is effortless and elegant, a testament to your mastery of swordsmanship at the “Simplified” level.]

[Year 23: Your cultivation advances further, and you become a Nascent Soul Stage, fifth-level cultivator.]

[But your progress in the sword path surpasses your cultivation advancement!]

[You spent three whole years finally integrating your ten years of learning and refinement, your ten years of honing your swordsmanship. According to the records of the Sword Canon’s grand introduction, your sword path has reached the “Human Sword” level, a minor achievement!]

[One day, during your daily sword practice, you are attacked by dozens of mysterious individuals who entered your courtyard. They are remnants of the Descent Sect!]

[Even with the protection of a Martial Emperor-level expert, you are powerless against the assault of multiple Martial Emperors and a Legendary expert. You are slain in the attack!]

    [You die!]

    [Your “Unflinching Talent” activates!]

[Your eyes widen as you see the Elder Dog’s cruel smile after he kills you.]

    [Ding! The simulation ends!]

After the simulation ended, Su醒 furrowed his brow, muttering:

“So, I didn’t live to see the arrival of the giant beasts and the end of the world?”

He was somewhat surprised. In the previous simulations, he had always returned to the final day. But upon reflection, he realized it was perfectly reasonable. In this simulation, he had been incredibly prominent. Ten years of learning, another ten years of sharpening his sword on the bodies of demonkind – in twenty years, he had killed nearly a thousand demon kings. Throughout these twenty years, his brilliance had attracted the attention of the demonic races, leading to several assassination attempts. These attempts became increasingly outrageous, starting with demon king ambushes and escalating to demon emperor sneak attacks. Even after he returned to the real world, they had not given up, and he ultimately died at the hands of the Descent Sect’s remnants.

In the later stages of the simulation, the human race had suffered significant losses, forcing many strong cultivators to stay at the Demon-Suppressing Pass permanently. As a result, protection for Su醒 inevitably weakened, creating an opportunity for those Descent Sect dogs.

“Sigh, a level nearing Martial Emperor… still not enough to escape death from those Descent Sect assassins?”

He sighed, becoming even more cautious. “This makes it even more crucial to be careful in the real world… Dying in a simulation isn’t a big deal, I have another chance. But dying in the real world… that’s it.”

Su醒 continuously reminded himself: with the existence of this simulation, a cheat-like tool, he could easily become invincible and then strike. He absolutely could not allow himself to be caught in any dangerous situation!

“But that swordsmanship… it’s really impressive!”

“If I could master the Sword Canon’s grand introduction, combined with my body-refining and Qi-refining cultivation, I could absolutely fight above my level!”

“And according to the grand introduction, if Heaven Sword is achieved, one can achieve the status of a Sword Immortal!”

Thinking about it, a fiery passion ignited within him. Who wouldn’t want to become a Sword Immortal? Sword cultivators were synonymous with strength!

He sighed, immersed in the simulation, Su醒 could still recall all the contents of the first volume, “Human Sword”, from the Sword Canon’s grand introduction. Even without completing all three volumes of Heaven, Earth, and Human, simply completing the “Human Sword” section would be incredibly beneficial to him!

“I wonder what the reward will be for this simulation. Will there be an option for swordsmanship progress?”

Su醒 thought, opening the simulation reward selection.

[Sword Madman]: Purple Talent, price: 1 million Energy Points.

[Primordial Martial Realm, Perfection]: Body-Refining Cultivation, price: 3 million Energy Points.

[25 Years of Alchemy Experience]: Alchemy Comprehension, includes some experience in refining Divine Strength Pills, price: 700,000 Energy Points.

[Human Sword Training Insights (Minor Achievement)]: Contains insights from the first volume, “Human Sword”, of the Sword Canon’s grand introduction. Ten years of learning, ten years of refining, the simplicity of swordsmanship. “Human Sword” has reached a minor achievement and is not far from the major achievement. Price: 3 million Energy Points.

[Ten Years of Battlefield Slaying Mentality]: Contains experience from ten years of countless battles at the Demon-Suppressing Pass. Upon claiming, combat experience will greatly increase, and you will also gain “Killing Intent” (prerequisite for Awakening Killing Intent). Price: 1 million Energy Points.

[Nascent Soul Stage, Fifth Level Cultivation]: Qi-Refining Cultivation, price: 4 million Energy Points.

[Legendary Weapon Ink Frost]: The blade is like ink, the heart is like ice. Price: 30 million Energy Points.

    Su醒 scanned the reward options.

“The Sword Madman talent is a must-have. I’ve missed out twice. This time, I can’t afford to miss the swordsmanship talent!”

“And all the swordsmanship knowledge I gained from the immersive simulation needs this talent to be fully utilized.”

He first confirmed the priority of the Sword Madman talent. Then he shifted his focus to the remaining options.

“Qi-refining and body-refining cultivation can wait. After all, my main focus in this simulation was swordsmanship. Swordsmanship cultivation is paramount!”

“As for Ink Frost, it’s way too expensive! I’ll see if I can find a good sword in the real world. After all, bringing items out of the simulation has a ten-fold price increase…”

Su醒 focused his final choices on “Ten Years of Battlefield Slaying Experience” and “Human Sword (Minor Achievement).”

“Ten Years of Battlefield Slaying Experience… it can even unlock Killing Intent… That’s truly amazing. It would increase my combat experience… but I can just go back to the Demon-Suppressing Pass for twenty years in the next simulation. Wouldn’t I gain even more combat experience? No need to waste a selection on this…”

After some hesitation, he decided to go with “Human Sword Training Insights (Minor Achievement).”

“I choose the Sword Madman talent and the Human Sword Training Insights (Minor Achievement)!”

He recited silently, and a notification echoed in his ears.

[You have chosen to bring out the Purple Talent “Sword Madman”, costing 1 million Energy Points. Remaining Energy Points: 12,303,888.]

[You have chosen to bring out “Human Sword Training Insights (Minor Achievement)”, costing 3 million Energy Points. Remaining Energy Points: 9,303,888.]

As he made his choice, two ethereal energies surged into his body. His mind overflowed with memories – ten years of learning the sword, ten years of refining it, his own reflection and sublimation of his twenty years of swordsmanship practice.

By the time he absorbed all these memories, his understanding of the sword had reached an incredibly profound level. He felt a sudden urge, a desire for a sword, a sword that felt right in his hand. This was a shift in his mentality after gaining the Sword Madman talent; he now possessed a deep-seated love for the sword.

Su醒 retrieved a blue-quality sword from his storage ring. After wielding it for a while, he felt it was far from satisfactory.

“Sigh, a blue-quality sword is simply too inferior for me. Maybe I should try to find a better one!” he mumbled to himself.

“I’ll ask Jin Cong Xue the next time I see her!”

He sighed, realizing that acquiring high-level equipment and weapons was best left to the Jin family’s heiress, Jin Cong Xue.

After receiving his rewards, he returned to his routine of alchemy and earning money. One moment he was an aspiring Sword Immortal, the next he was a relentless alchemy machine.

“Sigh, it can’t be helped. I need more simulation energy to improve my strength!”

Over the next week, he diligently practiced alchemy, producing another five thousand pills. Soon, a week had passed, and Su醒 went to meet Jin Cong Xue, as usual, arriving at her villa. Today, she was a vision in blue, dressed in a long blue dress, breathtakingly beautiful.

After feasting and drinking their fill, Su醒 and Jin Cong Xue got down to business. Su醒 handed over the pills he had refined that week, and Jin Cong Xue gave him this week’s goods. As they were about to conclude the meeting, Su醒 asked a favor of Jin Cong Xue:

“Sister Xue! Can you get your hands on some high-quality swords? I’ve been practicing my swordsmanship lately.”

Jin Cong Xue was surprised, her face revealing a hint of amusement. “You’re quite a multi-talented guy! You can refine pills and practice swordsmanship?”

After a moment of thought, she said, “The Jin family business has plenty of high-quality weapons, but I’m not sure we have any in stock that would suit you…”

“Let me keep an eye out. It might take a week, or maybe a month. I’ll find you a good sword.”

Su醒 was delighted, immediately saying, “I’ll leave it in your capable hands, Sister Xue!”
