This wasn’t the first time Su Xing entered a copy, but none had ever left him so astonished.

He stood on a mountaintop. Its height was unknown, but all he saw was a sea of clouds, like a realm of ethereal spirits.

A few acres of land sat atop the mountain, planted with vibrant green spirit grains and many other medicinal herbs he couldn’t name.

A hundred meters away from him stood a thatched cottage, with a well outside.

Su Xing took a deep breath, feeling the lingering spiritual energy in the air. He unconsciously began to circulate his cultivation technique, allowing the energy to nourish his body.

“Truly a paradise for cultivators!” he exclaimed, his heart brimming with excitement.

Jin Cong Xue looked confused, saying, “I’ve never encountered a copy like this. There might be hidden monsters around… We should be careful!”

She began to investigate the surroundings, and Su Xing didn’t stop her.

A short while later, he pointed to the cottage, “Why don’t we check out that thatched cottage?”

Jin Cong Xue wanted to refuse but hesitated for a moment before nodding.

Su Xing went to the cottage and knocked a few times, patiently waiting.

Soon, an old man wearing a Taoist robe, with a youthful face and snow-white hair, opened the door. He looked surprised.

“How did the two of you find this hidden place of mine?”

Su Xing and Jin Cong Xue exchanged glances and said they stumbled upon it by chance.

The old man nodded slightly, “Seems you two are destined to have deep fortune, and are fated to meet me.”

“Since we are fated, I want to offer you a chance for great fortune. How about it?”

Su Xing and Jin Cong Xue nodded in agreement.

“May I ask what this fortune is?” Su Xing pretended not to know and asked.

The old man looked at Su Xing, surprised at first, but then calmed down and slowly said, “The spirit field on my mountain hasn’t been tended for months. Why don’t you two help me manage it?”

Then, Su Xing and Jin Cong Xue were brought to a spirit field.

The old man pointed to a smaller field and said, “Young lady, this field is yours to manage. What do you think?”

Though confused, Jin Cong Xue still nodded. “Yes, Daoist.”

The old man then turned to Su Xing, “Young friend, that larger field is yours. How about it?”

Su Xing looked at the field, raising an eyebrow.

It stretched as far as the eye could see, probably two or three acres at least.

This field was much larger than in the simulations… What had changed?

Su Xing’s heart skipped a beat. His biggest change was his cultivation!

Perhaps this was a greater test, making him cultivate more land?

Su Xing clasped his hands and said, “Yes, Daoist.”

Then, they each took farm tools and began tending the fields.

Su Xing had grown up in the countryside and had done plenty of farm work as a child. He also spent a month studying farming knowledge, so he picked it up quickly.

But Jin Cong Xue was different. She couldn’t even tell the difference between grain and weeds.

So, after finishing his own work, Su Xing patiently guided her, teaching her how to weed and irrigate.

Fortunately, the spirit grain didn’t need fertilizer, or Su Xing would have had to teach her how to apply manure… That would have been quite embarrassing!

After reaching the Establishment Completion Realm, Su Xing’s Eternal Spring Technique had advanced to the second level, and his Wood attribute spiritual energy was even more abundant.

Even cultivating two or three acres at once, he didn’t feel tired, and he even had time to infuse Jin Cong Xue’s spirit grain with spiritual energy.

“Cultivating with spiritual energy” meant absorbing spiritual energy from the air and then applying it to the spirit grain.

Through this process, Su Xing’s control over spiritual energy and magical power became more adept.

“The water in this well is so sweet!”

After finishing their farm work, Su Xing sat by the well and took a sip of the refreshing water.

The well water also contained a lot of spiritual energy. It was a true spirit well.

“Su Xing… What do you think is the benefit of us farming here?”

Jin Cong Xue rubbed her tired shoulders, complaining after a day of hard work.

She was from the city. She had been interested at first, but after a day of tiring and dirty work, she was becoming weary.

Su Xing shook his head slightly, “I don’t know what the reward is… But the mountains in this copy have clear water and beautiful scenery, and spiritual energy fills the air. Farming can also be a way to cultivate oneself and find inner peace.”

Jin Cong Xue rolled her eyes, looking alluring as she said, “Don’t be silly! The harder the task, the better the reward… The only task in this copy is farming, what kind of good reward can there be?”

Despite her words, Jin Cong Xue didn’t have any intention of leaving the copy.

Seven days passed quickly. Su Xing’s two or three acres of spirit grain grew exceptionally well, and the weeds in the field were cleared.

Thanks to Su Xing’s help, Jin Cong Xue’s acre of spirit grain also thrived.

On the seventh evening, the old man called Su Xing and Jin Cong Xue to the thatched cottage.

He took out a bag of spirit rice and a small bag of spirit stones and gave them to Jin Cong Xue, saying, “Your spirit field grew well. This is fifty kilograms of spirit rice and fifty spirit stones as a reward.”

After receiving the reward, Jin Cong Xue looked at Su Xing with some embarrassment.

She couldn’t farm at all. The spirit field growing so well was at least 60% due to Su Xing’s efforts!

    “Thank you, Daoist.”

After Jin Cong Xue thanked him, the old man waved his hand and sent her out of the copy.

Then, the old man looked Su Xing up and down and took out a transparent stone from his sleeve, “Young friend, why don’t you place your hand on it?”

Su Xing’s heart skipped a beat. He had simulated this many times, but he couldn’t help but be nervous.

He slowly placed his hand on the stone. It flashed with red and green lights.

The old man nodded with satisfaction, “Good. You have Wood-Fire Dual Spirit Roots. Though it isn’t as good as a top-grade single spirit root, it’s still good enough for you to embark on the path of cultivation…”

He praised him, then asked, “I see that you have cultivation, so do you already have a master?”

Su Xing’s heart pounded. Here it came! Was he about to take me as his disciple?

He shook his head, “I don’t have a master. I accidentally obtained a cultivation technique before, so I stumbled onto the path of cultivation…”

The old man nodded slightly, “You managed to break through to the ninth level of the Establishment Completion Realm through self-exploration. You truly have exceptional talent and fortune! And while you were farming, you worked diligently without complaining. Your character is excellent.

“To meet me in this vast world of three thousand, you must be fated to encounter me…”

He paused and continued, “I see that the cultivation technique you are practicing is the Eternal Spring Technique of the Eternal Spring Sect. Although this technique has a limited upper limit, it is very beneficial to cultivators who are just beginning their journey.

“Furthermore, Wood attribute techniques absorb the vitality of all things, and can also return to nature… It’s very suitable for learning spirit-nurturing cultivation techniques.”

At this point, the old man showed a trace of hesitation, but in the end, he sighed, “Fine, meeting is a form of fate.”

“I am a simple farmer who cultivates the fields at Qingyun Sect. My Daoist name is Qingyunzi. Would you be willing to become my disciple?”

“I am willing to accept you as a registered disciple…”
