The Dragon Boat Festival is a very important traditional holiday. Apart from the widely-known rituals to commemorate Qu Yuan, there are many other customs to worship various gods and spirits, including Tou God Wu Zixu, filial girl Cao E, Silkworm God, Agricultural God, White Lady, Medicine God, Plague God, Zhang Tian Shi, and Zhong Kui.

Liu Chang’an carefully researched and found that there was no place where the customs and traditions of the Dragon Boat Festival involved worshiping him, just like Zhu Juntang said, Peng Zu lived for 800 years and gained countless blessings, even ascending to godhood, but what about him? He had lived this long, and it was as if he was still very much alive.

Of course, Liu Chang’an didn’t really care about this issue; he was just preparing to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival.

Outside the window, the sun shone brightly, and the aroma of glutinous rice wine wafted through the air.

I can’t hold my liquor, and I’m not fond of fame or being alone. One day, I’ll be a guest in a distant land, reading ancient poems and classics.

As a traveler, I’ll follow the local customs and traditions, such as the “Summer Solstice Song”. Liu Chang’an didn’t have any connection to this poem; he was just reciting it to show off his literary skills.

Liu Chang’an brewed the Huangjiu wine using Huangjiu, licorice, red flower, and garlic, without adding any other medicinal ingredients. Although he strictly followed the ancient recipe, not everyone could drink it, as those with weak constitutions or who were not suitable might get poisoned.

In fact, many medicinal ingredients are toxic, and the principle of using them is to balance the toxicity with other toxins or illnesses. It’s not that the medicine is unscientific just because it contains toxic ingredients; rather, it’s often a matter of life and death, and the dosage makes all the difference.

The small hen had already been dug out by Liu Chang’an, and after rinsing it with slightly hot water, all the parasites came out. He packed them into a plastic bottle and threw them into the car.

The parasites are actually very delicious, especially the big ones. According to the method described in “The Legend of the Condor Hero”, they can be cooked very well. When you first take a bite, it feels like fresh shrimp, but as you chew slowly, you’ll discover it’s even more tender and sweet, without any rough or bitter taste.

“A long, long time ago, big parasites were as big as Zhouchengdiao, and you could eat them for several days. Back then, mosquitoes were as big as a direct elevator, mice were as big as Zhouchengdiao, and butterflies could create a whirlwind with just one flap of their wings.” Liu Chang’an took out the Huangjiu wine and let it sit in the sun for five days, chatting with Zhouchengdiao while snacking on bean sprouts.

“How haven’t I seen it before?” Zhouchengdiao didn’t believe him.

“A long, long time ago!”

“When was a long, long time ago, exactly?” Zhouchengdiao asked angrily. “Last time I saw my mom’s photo, I wasn’t in it, and I got very angry. She went out to play without taking me, and she said it was a long, long time ago. Why wasn’t I there a long, long time ago?”

“Because you were a coward, always hiding in your mom’s belly.”

“Why don’t I remember anything from my mom’s belly?”

“Because you didn’t learn well, and you forgot everything, including ABCDEFG. How could you remember what happened in your mom’s belly?”

“That’s the reason!” Zhouchengdiao suddenly understood, nodded, and quickly ran back home to explain to his mom, who didn’t know the reason either.

Liu Chang’an went to pick a bunch of calamus and wormwood, and then rushed to school, as the Dragon Boat Festival holiday was about to begin, and the province’s leaders would be visiting the school today.

As a directly managed department, the affiliated middle school had to take it seriously. Apart from the usual teacher conferences and student union meetings, each class leader also had to keep an eye on certain students, like Liu Chang’an, who was a key target. Huang Shan specially reminded him to come early, or if he couldn’t make it, he should come in the afternoon, so he wouldn’t be late and cause trouble when the leaders arrived.

The most important thing was that Huang Shan was afraid the leaders would see Liu Chang’an being late and ask him why, and Liu Chang’an would come up with some bizarre reasons, which Huang Shan didn’t want him to say.

Liu Chang’an didn’t arrive late today; if he had, the reason would have been that he was preparing for the Dragon Boat Festival, picking calamus and wormwood, catching parasites, and chatting with friends, which had taken up his time.

The leaders’ visit didn’t have much impact on ordinary students; these days, even a high-ranking leader who caused negative influences on the school’s education, such as stopping classes to organize activities, would quickly leave and criticize the school. Except, of course, for exceptional cases, but today’s visitor was not an exception, and the affiliated middle school’s normal educational activities would continue as usual.

“What’s that smell on you?” Liu Chang’an sat down, and Bai Ruo sniffed, wrinkling her nose.

Face is given by mutual agreement; that day, Liu Chang’an said some nice things, and Bai Ruo was willing to talk to him again, although she had confirmed that Liu Chang’an and Ann Wan were in a romantic relationship.

“A fragrant smell.”

Bai Ruo looked annoyed because she remembered that Liu Chang’an had said he smelled a fragrance on her, and he also replied “fragrant smell” when she asked what it was.

Bai Ruo sniffed again, “What exactly is the smell?”

“You’re always sniffing me, and Qian Ning and Lu Yuan won’t be happy.” Liu Chang’an said with concern.

Liu Chang’an was still annoying, but strangely, Bai Ruo didn’t get angry immediately, probably because she had gotten used to it.

“Did you use ‘Bei Bei Jia’ when you were young?”

Bai Ruo hesitated, nodding; how did he suddenly ask that?

“Girls who develop earlier tend to have some inferiority complex, so they often have a hunched back to hide their figure. I think you didn’t have that habit, so I suspected you might have used ‘Bei Bei Jia’.”

“I used it, and it made it even more prominent! So I didn’t use it!” Bai Ruo lowered her voice, getting angry and somewhat vengeful, “You can give it to your Ann Wan; she’s always concerned about this aspect!”

Liu Chang’an didn’t respond to Bai Ruo, showing a thoughtful expression, which made Bai Ruo feel surprised, wondering if Liu Chang’an and Ann Wan had really developed to the stage of caring about chest size.

Bai Ruo felt that it was hard to make Liu Chang’an treat her like Lu Yuan and Qian Ning did, but she still had some resentment, wondering why she wasn’t as good as Ann Wan.

As a girl, it’s natural to enjoy the attention and admiration of boys. For Bai Ruo, it was a usual thing to be pampered by boys, and she had already filtered out Lu Yuan and Qian Ning, who had shown their interest in her. Qian Ning had better grades, and Lu Yuan’s family was richer, although neither was exceptional, but they were the most obedient.

However, Bai Ruo recently felt that something was missing around her… or maybe she lacked a Liu Chang’an, who was an interesting boy? Liu Chang’an was indeed annoying, but he also made people feel interesting, unlike Lu Yuan and Qian Ning, who only followed her orders.

Liu Chang’an was indeed interesting… but maybe a bit too perverted? Bai Ruo had been watching Liu Chang’an drawing all morning, and he had spent the entire morning drawing a breast, labeling some messy acupoints and small dots, with various massage gestures and explanations on the side.

Was he creating some kind of breast-enhancing massage technique? Heaven knows, she was about to graduate from high school, and she had encountered a deskmate like Liu Chang’an! Bai Ruo’s face turned hot as she secretly watched him draw, feeling helpless.
