Star Rail, My Little Shop on the Train 136
Chapter 136: Hutao Takes Huo Huo on a Tour of Liyue Harbor
After dinner, Hutao took Huo Huo back to Wangsheng Funeral Parlor and arranged for her to stay in the room previously assigned to Asmodeus. Since the new internet cafe opened, Asmodeus had moved to the e-sports room on the third floor.
Hutao led Huo Huo into the room.
“You’ll stay here from now on. My room is next door. It’s getting late, so rest for now. Tomorrow, I’ll take you around Liyue and introduce you to some people.”
Huo Huo obediently agreed.
After saying goodnight, Hutao left Huo Huo’s room.
Huo Huo looked at the spacious room. Many of the appliances were modern. Hutao had mentioned sprucing the place up after Asmodeus moved in, and it was just finished when Asmodeus left.
Huo Huo opened her suitcase, took out her clothes, and hung them in the closet.
Tail Grandpa flew around the room.
“Holy moly! Did I just get transported to another world? This is freakin’ awesome! This is something I never even dared to dream of before!”
Huo Huo hung up her clothes and went to the bathroom to wash up. Every time she washed up, she would let Tail Grandpa out.
Tail Grandpa flew out the window and looked at the quaint courtyard.
“This other world… doesn’t feel that different from Luofu! The architectural style is almost the same.”
With a sigh, Tail Grandpa didn’t think much more about it. He flew to the sofa in the room and promptly fell asleep!
The next day arrived.
Hutao and Huo Huo had a simple breakfast at home. Liyue’s eating habits were not much different from Luofu’s, so Huo Huo was quite accustomed to it.
After breakfast, Hutao took Huo Huo towards Mt. Tianheng.
Along the way, Huo Huo was fascinated by everything around her, looking here and there.
As they walked, they arrived at Wanmin Restaurant.
At the entrance, Chef Mao was cleaning up. Seeing Hutao, he greeted her.
“Oh, Hutao, are you looking for Xiangling?”
Hutao nodded.
“Yep, yep! Is Xiangling home?”
Chef Mao pointed towards the kitchen.
“She’s in the kitchen working on a new dish. Go on in and find her.”
Hutao nodded and introduced Huo Huo.
“Huo Huo, this is Uncle Mao, the owner of this restaurant. If you ever want to eat something delicious, come here.”
Huo Huo nodded blankly. Hutao said to Chef Mao,
“Uncle Mao, this is my little sister, Huo Huo. Please remember her face. When she comes to eat, put the bill on Wangsheng Funeral Parlor’s account.”
Chef Mao happily agreed.
“Alright, Hutao, I didn’t know you had a fox-girl sister.”
Hutao waved her hand.
“Someone asked me to take care of her. I’d appreciate it if you could look after her.”
Chef Mao wiped his hands with a towel.
“No problem.”
Chef Mao looked at Huo Huo.
“Little Huo Huo, if you’re ever hungry, come to Uncle here for a meal. Don’t be shy. Your sister Hutao used to come here all the time when she was little. I remember one time, during her baby teeth falling out phase, I made a pot of braised lamb legs, and she gnawed on them until one tooth fell out! She couldn’t stop the air leaking from her mouth when she talked, hahaha!”
Hutao puffed up her cheeks.
“Uncle Mao! You’re bringing up my embarrassing past again!”
Chef Mao burst into laughter.
“Alright, alright, I need to clean up. Customers will be arriving soon. Go find Xiangling.”
Hutao nodded and took Huo Huo to the kitchen.
As Huo Huo passed Chef Mao, she waved her small hand. She felt that this uncle was kind, easy-going, and very approachable. Chef Mao returned her wave with a big smile.
They entered the kitchen.
As soon as they entered, they saw Xiangling fiddling with a new dish by the stove.
“Xiangling, what new dish are you making?” Hutao asked, walking to Xiangling’s side.
Xiangling said,
“I’m making a braised dish called Hundred Flavors Chicken. I’ll call you to try it when it’s ready.”
As soon as Hutao heard about the taste testing, her mouth twitched.
“Uh, I don’t have time. I have a date with Xing.”
Xiangling rolled her eyes at Hutao.
“I haven’t even set a specific time yet. Fine, don’t eat it then, hmph!”
Hutao quickly apologized, putting her hands on Xiangling’s shoulders and giving her a massage.
“Oh, don’t be angry~ Xiangling, I’ll definitely come when you call. By the way, by the way, let me introduce someone to you.”
Hutao pulled Huo Huo in front of them.
“Xiangling, this is Huo Huo. She’ll be living at Wangsheng Funeral Parlor and working with me.”
Xiangling looked at Huo Huo and greeted her with a smile.
“Hello, Huo Huo, I’m Xiangling. My hobby is cooking. Come find me if you want to eat something delicious.”
Huo Huo smiled slightly and nodded in agreement.
Then, Xiangling asked,
“Huo Huo, are you from Luofu?”
Hutao was a little stunned.
“Xiangling, how did you know?”
Xiangling said as a matter of fact,
“Do we have fox people in Liyue? I’ve only seen them in Luofu.”
Hutao thought about it; that seemed to be the case.
“Okay, alright. You’re busy, I’ll take Huo Huo for a walk.”
Xiangling nodded.
“Okay, remember to bring Huo Huo to Ye Yun’s shop for dinner tonight. We’re having a seafood feast!”
Hutao was slightly surprised.
“What’s the occasion? Why such a good meal?”
Xiangling smiled as she thought about the origin of the seafood.
“It’s not a special occasion, it’s just that Klee and the others brought back some fish they caught in the Sea of Clouds.”
Hutao remembered that Klee and the others did indeed go fishing in the Sea of Clouds yesterday.
“See you later~”
Then, Hutao and Huo Huo left Wanmin Restaurant and strolled around Liyue Harbor. Along the way, Hutao introduced the surrounding shops and buildings to Huo Huo, familiarizing her with the streets and alleys of Liyue Harbor.
As they walked, they met Ningguang inspecting the harbor.
Hutao hopped and waved from afar.
“Ningguang! Ningguang!”
Ningguang vaguely heard someone calling her, turned around, and saw Hutao waving from a nearby slope, leaning on the railing.
Ningguang instructed Baiwen.
“You check it out first; I have something to attend to.”
Baiwen nodded in response.
Ningguang walked toward Hutao.
Approaching her, Ningguang smiled at Hutao.
“Hutao, aren’t you going to Ye Yun’s today?”
Hutao pointed to Huo Huo beside her.
“I’m taking Huo Huo for a walk around Liyue to familiarize her with the work procedures at Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.”
Hearing this, Ningguang looked at Huo Huo. Seeing Huo Huo’s ears and fox tail, she felt a little curious. Was this an immortal’s disciple?
Ningguang had never been to Luofu, so she hadn’t seen the fox people there. To Ningguang, Huo Huo’s appearance looked like an immortal’s disciple. Because many immortals in Liyue were mostly beast-shaped or half-human, half-beast, like Ganyu and Yanfei.
Ningguang smiled at Huo Huo.
“Hello Huo Huo, I’m Ningguang, the Tianquan of Liyue. I wonder whose immortal disciple you are?”
