Chapter 144, Black Tower: Tutoring for 500 Star Coins

Zhong Li, Welt, and Jing Yuan brought Huaiyan and Jiaqiu to the reception room for tea and chat. This slow-paced lifestyle suited them, this group of “elderly people.”

Nearby, Topa and Emerald were chatting beside Topa’s small office cubicle. Both had a fun day. If Emerald didn’t have to cooperate with Shajin to deal with Pinokoni’s matter later, she would have planned to stay on the train permanently, just like Topa.

Topa was very happy to hear Emerald’s idea.

“That’s a great idea, Emerald. Jizi’s new train car design is already finished—eight rooms! Though a little smaller than March’s room, it’s perfectly fine for one person. And, Jizi and I have a deal. I’m fully responsible for the materials needed for the new car’s renovation, and in return, I get a room. If you want to come, I’ll put in a good word for you; you should be able to get a room.”

    Emerald smiled.

“No rush, let’s talk about it later, little Yelena. By the way, where have you been staying lately? There aren’t any extra rooms on this train.”

    Topa said,

“I’ve been staying with Clara. Isn’t there a teleportation gate on the train? I go back and forth with Clara every day.”

    Emerald responded,

“I see. Then I’ll stay with you for the next few days. I have time; there’s no rush to go to Pinokoni. It’s not my time to enter the scene yet.”

    Topa nodded.

    “Okay! I’ll tell Clara.”

    Emerald said with a smile,

“Let’s go together. Do you know where Clara is?”

    Topa said,

“Of course. After we were teleported back, Clara went to the lab.”

    Emerald was a little puzzled.

    “The lab? Where is that?”

    Topa explained,

“Ye Yun set up a lab for Clara on the train. You wouldn’t believe the equipment in there—all top-of-the-line stuff. Come, I’ll take you to see it.”

Then, the two headed towards the laboratory.

    Meanwhile, in the lab…

Clara was asking Black Tower questions. After returning, Black Tower remembered she hadn’t finished answering Clara’s earlier questions, so she took Clara to the lab. After all, she’d received 500 Star Coins in tutoring fees from Ye Yun; she had to finish teaching what she was supposed to teach.

Black Tower taught while Clara assembled. Whenever Clara made a mistake, Black Tower would point it out and explain the correct method and principles.

Under Black Tower’s guidance, Clara finally completed the assembly of the mecha’s main body.

Black Tower was very pleased with Clara. Her talent was indeed good, far superior to those in the space station.

“Not bad. Your talent surpasses those idiots back at my space station.”

    Clara happily nodded.

Unbeknownst to her, Topa and Emerald, who had already arrived, were extremely shocked. They had been there for a while but hadn’t disturbed Clara while she was assembling the mecha; they quietly watched from the side.

However, they heard something incredibly shocking.

The renowned genius, the genius of the Genius Club, Ms. Black Tower, the Envoy of Wisdom, actually praised Clara?

After casually praising Clara, Black Tower turned around, her face impassive, and looked at Emerald and Topa.

“Alright, you two, what’s the purpose of your visit?”

Topa told Clara about her plan to stay with Emerald.

Clara readily agreed; she was delighted that Emerald would be staying with her.

“Emerald-jiejie~ Let’s go back together after dinner with everyone.”

    Emerald smiled in agreement.

    Black Tower said,

    “Clara, I’m going back now.”

As she reached the door, Black Tower suddenly remembered something.

“Oh, by the way, tell Ye Yun that if he needs more tutoring in the future, remember to look for me. The price remains the same.”

    Clara agreed.

Black Tower, satisfied, left the lab to stroll around on the first floor.

    At around 8 pm…

Jizi and Kafka brought out one delicious dish after another.

Considering the large number of people, Ye Yun directly used large metal bowls to serve the food; after all, they were all close friends, so no one cared about such things.

Although everyone was hungry, no one reached for the food. They were all waiting for the two chefs.

Yun Li held a serving plate, drooling profusely, desperately suppressing her appetite.

At that moment, Paimon flew over carrying a large metal bowl and placed it next to Yun Li.

“Yun Li, you should use this for dinner!”

Yun Li was dumbfounded and gave Paimon a thumbs-up.

“Learned it! Where did you get that? I’ll get one too.”

    Paimon pointed towards the kitchen.

“Over there. I’ll tell you, go to Xiangling; she’ll give you one, but Ye Yun won’t.”

Yun Li understood and ran to the kitchen to ask Xiangling for a large bowl.

Ye Yun and Xiangling finished preparing the last dish and brought it to the table. Ye Yun nodded to Xiangling.

Xiangling brandished her wok with a loud yell.

    “Dinner’s served!”

Everyone clapped and cheered, especially Yun Li and Paimon, who were the loudest.

Everyone took their plates to get food.

This lively atmosphere was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Jing Yuan was serving himself, pondering what to take first.

At that moment, a voice came from behind.

“Try this shrimp dumpling. It’s Xiangling’s specialty. I had it once before, and it’s delicious.”

Jing Yuan turned around and saw Dan Heng standing behind him with a serving plate.

Jing Yuan’s lips curved into a slight smile.

    “Okay, I’ll try it.”

Then, Dan Heng recommended several more dishes to Jing Yuan, and Jing Yuan took them all. He would take a portion of anything Dan Heng suggested.

After Dan Heng and Jing Yuan served themselves, Blade also came over with his plate, remembering the dishes Dan Heng had recommended and serving them one by one. However, Blade forgot two dishes.

    At that moment…

Silver Wolf came over with a dish.

“A-Reng, there’s also the Sichuan pepper fish and the radish beef brisket.”

Only after Silver Wolf’s reminder did Blade recall the dishes Dan Heng had recommended.

Blade added the two dishes to his plate and found a corner to sit down and eat.

Silver Wolf sighed, took two bottles of cola, and sat down next to Blade.

“Here, I brought these for you.”

Blade took the cola, stared at it for a moment, a smile appearing on his face, and took a sip.

Kafka then sat down as well.

“Bao, you got cola for A-Reng but not for me?”

    Silver Wolf made a face.

“Nyah nyah nyah~ I’m not getting you any. You stole my airdrop today!”

    Kafka laughed.

“I didn’t get it in the end. I got tricked by that little girl, Klee.”

    Silver Wolf thought of Klee.

“Klee’s luck is really good. She got so many kills just with bombs.”

    Blade nodded.

“I heard that that little girl Klee’s something called a ‘Destiny’s Seat’ is a four-leaf clover, representing luck.”

    Silver Wolf said,

    “Huh? Really?”

Then, the three Star-Hunters sat together, eating and chatting.
