Star Rail, My Little Shop on the Train 146
Chapter 146: Eve of the Lantern Rite
Zhong Li continued, “The Lantern Rite is the most important festival in Liyue, a time of great celebration. If you have time, you can come and enjoy yourselves.”
As soon as Zhong Li finished speaking, Hutao, standing beside him, waved her hand grandly. “Let me tell you, the Lantern Rite is super fun! There are so many little games!”
Hearing the word “games,” Xing, March 7th, Amber, and Seele—a bunch of little girls—immediately showed interest and expressed their desire to go.
Hutao continued to introduce the activities: “There’s also lantern releasing, fireworks, poetry contests, boat rides, and more.”
Jing Yuan, Welt, Jiaoqiu, and Huaiyan’s eyes lit up upon hearing these activities.
Welt looked at Jing Yuan and the others. “Everyone, how about we all go and participate in these activities?”
Huaiyan stroked his beard. “Excellent idea. It suits this old man perfectly.”
Jing Yuan smiled. “A boat ride sounds pleasant. We can prepare a pot of fine tea and a chessboard, enjoying the scenery while we hone our chess skills.”
Jiaoqiu fanned himself. “With Mr. Zhong Li’s gracious invitation, how could I refuse?”
Welt and the others immediately began discussing which activity to participate in first.
Seeing that most people would be going to enjoy the festivities, Ninguang, as the Tianquan of Liyue, naturally had something to do. “Everyone, listen to me. All of your expenses in Liyue Harbor are on me, Ninguang.”
Upon hearing this, Xing exclaimed, “Wow! Ninguang is so extravagant!” Xing stood up and applauded enthusiastically. “Great!”
March 7th, Lumine, and Amber also stood up and applauded.
Feixiao then approached Jing Yuan and Huaiyan. “General Jing Yuan, Elder Huaiyan, look, there are more dungeons added to the Yeyun Shop, and it’s the Lantern Rite in Liyue. Should we postpone the martial arts tournament?”
Jing Yuan looked slightly troubled. “Many contestants have already arrived in Luofu, eager to compete tomorrow. Changing the schedule wouldn’t be appropriate.”
Feixiao didn’t seem to care. “What’s the problem? We can just reimburse their daily expenses in Luofu.”
Huaiyan agreed, adding, “We can also give them some welfare compensation, like free access to some martial arts schools.”
Jing Yuan pondered this; it was indeed feasible.
So, Jing Yuan summoned Fu Xuan to issue an official announcement.
Fu Xuan quickly had the announcement sent out, and most participants accepted the postponement.
Luka, who came to compete with Svarog, was delighted with the news. “This is fantastic! I was worried about not having a place to practice.”
Svarog said, “Calculations show that postponing the event will grant Luka free access to martial arts facilities, increasing his chances of winning.”
Svarog and Luka could only afford the cheapest inn; after all, Belobog was poor. Belobog had very few credit points in reserve. The first batch of icefield deer hadn’t grown up yet, so Belobog currently relied on selling rare ores to companies to earn credit points. Even this was thanks to Towerpa and Emerald, who had pulled some strings for Broniya. Belobog’s ores weren’t considered rare in the universe; many ore companies wouldn’t bother collecting them.
Now, with free food, lodging, and training facilities, Luka’s immediate worries were resolved.
The scene shifts back to the Yeyun Shop. Almost everyone agreed to go tomorrow. The days leading up to the festival were bustling with activity.
After making their decision, everyone played in the Yeyun Shop for a while before returning home to rest.
The next day arrived.
Inside Seele’s room, Seele was asleep in bed, while Xing and March 7th were sleeping on the floor. The alarm clock rang, and Xing sprang up. “Fully recharged!”
Xing turned off the alarm clock and looked outside. The sun was just rising, and fiery clouds drifted slowly across the sky. Xing stretched vigorously, then noticed March 7th still fast asleep. She gently shook her shoulder. “March, March, it’s time to wake up.”
March 7th sleepily opened her eyes and pushed Xing’s hand away. “Let me sleep a little longer, I’m so sleepy…”
Seele, who had already gotten up and was tidying the bedding, smiled. “Xing, shake her again. We need to get ready to leave for Liyue Harbor. Didn’t you say you wanted to have breakfast in Liyue yesterday?”
Hearing this, Xing pulled March 7th up and helped her sit. March 7th was completely groggy and wanted to sleep badly. However, since she was already up, there was no way to go back to sleep.
Seele said, “You guys tidy up the bedding, I’ll go wash up first.” Then, Seele left the room and entered the corridor.
She immediately encountered Jing Yuan and his group boarding the train. “Good morning, Ms. Seele.”
Seele smiled and responded, “Good morning, everyone. You’re up early!”
Jing Yuan shrugged, jokingly saying, “I didn’t want to, but Elder Huaiyan woke me up early in the morning.”
Huaiyan, hearing himself mentioned, let out a hearty laugh. “This old man is already elderly; I sleep less and couldn’t sleep. Staying in the inn was boring, so I had no choice but to do this, haha.”
Feixiao, seeing them chatting, urged, “Let’s hurry over there. I’ve made plans to drink with Venti at a Liyue tavern.”
Seele said, “You guys go ahead first; I’ll wash up.”
Then, Jing Yuan and his group bid farewell to Seele and headed towards the Yeyun Shop.
Arriving at the shop, Jing Yuan saw Yeyun attending to the four children, who were by the small bar’s sink, each with a small cup and toothbrush brushing their teeth. Yeyun was heating water for them, preparing for them to wash their faces after brushing their teeth.
Seeing Yeyun, Jing Yuan said to Feixiao, “General Feixiao, you go ahead. Elder Huaiyan and I will wait for Yeyun.”
Feixiao immediately left. “Alright, I’ll be off then.”
Jing Yuan and Huaiyan waited for Yeyun. They had planned to visit the poetry contest venue today.
After the four children finished washing, they stood in a row in front of Yeyun, listening to her instructions. “What is our rule when we go out to play?”
The four children said in unison, “Safety first!”
Yeyun nodded in satisfaction and said to Rios, “Rios, please take care of them today.”
Rios nodded. “Okay.”
Yeyun once again instructed the four children. “Remember, don’t stray too far from Rios, understand?”
The four children all agreed.
Yeyun waved her hand. “Go, have fun.”
Upon hearing this, the four children happily rushed into the teleportation gate and ran off to Liyue Harbor to play.
“Charge! Sisters!”
“Klee can go play!”
“Tigger is so happy!”
“Slow down, wait for me.”
Then, Yeyun, Jing Yuan, Huaiyan, Jiaoqiu, and Welt waited for each other. After everyone had gathered, they entered the teleportation gate to find Zhong Li.
