    Chapter 49: Star: I’m a Great Hero!

On the streets of Liyue Harbor, Feng Ji, the chief instructor of the Qixing’s army, led a team of Qixing soldiers maintaining order. The Geo Archon’s arrival necessitated a city-wide curfew to prevent any troublemakers from causing chaos. Feng Ji’s gaze constantly swept across the crowd, searching for suspicious individuals.

At that moment, a gasp arose from the crowd.

“Look! It’s the divine medicine bestowed by the Emperor!”

Upon hearing this, Feng Ji instinctively looked up, his eyes widening in surprise. He saw the divine medicine bestowed by the Emperor flying towards him. The medicine slowly floated before Feng Ji, and he quickly caught it.

“Thank you, Emperor, for the medicine!”

The surrounding Qixing soldiers were also happy for Feng Ji. As the chief instructor, Feng Ji enjoyed high prestige within the Qixing army. He not only taught them fighting techniques but also always charged into battle first, earning their respect.

    “Congratulations, Chief!”

“Chief, you have to treat us to a few rounds of drinks!”

“Exactly! And we won’t be picky; Wanmin Restaurant will do.”

Feng Ji readily agreed. Receiving the Emperor’s divine medicine warranted a celebration, a drink with his brothers-in-arms.

“Good, I should treat you all. But going to Wanmin Restaurant isn’t practical; our days off don’t align. How about this, next time I have a day off, I’ll get some food from Wanmin Restaurant for everyone, and we can eat together in the camp. How does that sound?”

The surrounding Qixing soldiers all expressed their approval; they just wanted something to eat.

Feng Ji looked at the potion in his hand and drank it in one gulp. The moment the potion went down, Feng Ji felt an intense itch all over, as if he were growing new flesh. After this sensation passed, Feng Ji felt incredibly energetic, as if he had inexhaustible stamina.

A gasp echoed through the crowd.

“My god! The Geo Archon was telling the truth! This medicine really does prolong life! Look at Chief Feng; he looks like a young man again!”

“What do you mean? What are you saying? Would the Geo Archon deceive us?”

“No, no, that’s not what I meant. I’m just too excited, forgive me, forgive me.”

Feng Ji looked at his hands; indeed, many of his calluses were gone, and his skin looked more vibrant. At that moment, a Qixing soldier brought a bronze mirror.

    “Chief Instructor, look!”

Feng Ji stared intently. This… wasn’t this his appearance at 17 or 18 years old? Truly a divine medicine, it had made him revert back to his youth.

Feng Ji’s experience quickly spread throughout Liyue Harbor. After all, this was the only instance of someone receiving and consuming the divine medicine in public. Due to Feng Ji’s experience, the loyalty of the people of Liyue Harbor soared even higher.

The Northland Bank, for example, suffered the consequences. The citizens of Liyue Harbor rushed to withdraw their Mora, claiming that keeping money in a foreign bank was disloyal to Liyue.

Upon learning of this, Ningguang immediately established a bank belonging to Liyue: the Liyue Bank. It’s no wonder she’s Ningguang; her reaction was swift, taking action before other merchants in Liyue Harbor could even react.

The citizens of Liyue Harbor deposited their money into the Liyue Bank, leaving the manager of the Northland Bank dumbfounded. Was it really necessary to be so extreme?

Citizens of Liyue Harbor: Absolutely necessary!

Zhong Li’s distribution of the divine medicine successfully won the hearts of the people of Liyue Harbor.

    Belobog, Broniya’s office.

Broniya sat in her chair with a gloomy expression, completely dejected.

“It’s over… completely over! The Star Crystals are gone!”

    Himeko sighed beside her.

“It’s alright, we reacted quickly and recovered quite a bit.”

Earlier, Broniya and Himeko had called on Gepard and Pela, leading a large contingent of Silvermane Guards to the commercial district. They were still a bit too slow; Star and March 7th, along with the little fire monkey and the dandelion seed, had already ransacked half the commercial district.

Empty chests could be seen everywhere on the main street of the commercial district. Among them were even three luxurious chests! One chest contained 30 Star Crystals!

Seeing the rightful owners arrive, Star and March 7th whistled a greeting and slipped away.

Star, March 7th: Hehe, we’ve struck it rich! We’ve struck it rich!

After escaping, the two girls immediately fled to the lower city to hide for a while. They were afraid that Broniya might impulsively issue a warrant for their arrest. While she wouldn’t do that – they were comrades who had fought alongside each other – the two girls were still a little uneasy.

    Gepard said,

“Great Guardian, didn’t we also successfully reclaim the commercial district this time? We killed all the Riftworld monsters inside.”

Broniya felt much better after hearing Gepard’s words. Indeed, logically, she should thank Star and March 7th. The chests were originally ownerless, and to the victor goes the spoils. Moreover, while opening the chests, they had also helped clear out more than half of the Riftworld monsters in the commercial district.

    “Yes, indeed.”

Broniya took a deep breath, adjusting her state, and looked seriously at Gepard and Pela.

“Gepard, Pela, I have a very important task for both of you.”

Upon hearing this, Gepard and Pela stood at attention, awaiting Broniya’s orders.

Broniya took a deep breath and slowly said,

“Gepard, after the succession ceremony, take a squad of Silvermane Guards to collect Star Crystals; don’t miss a single chest.”

“Pela, you lead people to exchange Star Crystals with the Belobog residents. Decide the price yourself, but don’t shortchange the people.”

Gepard and Pela nodded solemnly, indicating their understanding. Then, the two left the office to carry out their tasks.

After they left, Broniya looked at Himeko.

“Himeko, after the succession ceremony, will you accompany me to the train?”

    Himeko nodded in agreement.

“Certainly. I remember Natasha is also going to buy supplies today. I’ll tell her, and we can go together.”

Broniya smiled and nodded. Himeko left the office, and Broniya looked at the box containing the Star Crystals. Thankfully, Himeko had reacted in time and found her. Otherwise, those 800 Star Crystals would probably have been looted by Star and March 7th.

The succession ceremony soon began. First, Cocolia appeared, explaining the dangers of the Star Core and stating that she had been seriously injured during the battle against the Star Core and needed to recuperate. Therefore, she officially appointed Broniya as the new Great Guardian.

Broniya went on stage and gave a speech, receiving the enthusiastic support of the people. Broniya’s abilities were evident to everyone in Belobog. No one would oppose Broniya’s succession. Broniya also thanked Star, March 7th, and Dan Heng for their help.

This made Star and March 7th, who were hiding in the lower city, eavesdropping near a loudspeaker, extremely happy.

    Hehe! I’m a great hero!

The succession ceremony was not overly complex; it simply involved the new Great Guardian giving an inspiring speech, and it quickly concluded.
