    Chapter 38: Super Physique

    The faucet turned on.

    The showerhead sprayed.

Water cascaded down like a waterfall, drenching his head.

    “Ah, so comfortable…”

Fang Cheng contentedly closed his eyes, letting out a long breath.

He allowed the icy cold tap water to flow over his face, chest, hands, and feet, washing away the sweat and heat.

Being able to take a long, refreshing shower after a workout was simply the most satisfying thing in life.

He rubbed his face vigorously with both hands and opened his eyes.

Then, he adjusted the water tap to the red arrow.

The cold water quickly turned into hot water, around 40 degrees Celsius.

Feeling the stimulating sensation of the alternating hot and cold water, Fang Cheng squeezed some shower gel, lathered it all over his body, and quickly rubbed it in.

    A few minutes later.

He put on a clean undershirt and shorts, lifted the shower curtain, and walked out of the shower stall in slippers.

He felt refreshed and invigorated, every pore on his body cleansed.

All the toxins, stress, and anxiety accumulated from the long workout were washed away.

Fang Cheng dried his hair with a towel while walking to the sink and looking at himself in the mirror.

His muscles were strong, and his physique was well-proportioned.

The bruises he’d gotten from the brawl with the thugs in the night market had completely disappeared.

His arms, shoulders, chest, abdomen, and thighs were all as if they had been resculpted, the lines smooth and powerful.

His six-pack abs were clearly visible, making one want to reach out and touch them.

He looked slim in clothes, but muscular without them.

That perfectly described his current appearance.

Fang Cheng clenched his fist tightly, feeling the power surging through his body, a slight smile playing on his lips.

“The feeling of getting stronger is really great!”

With the “Lone Peak” effect boosting his training, the results were significantly enhanced.

His muscle growth was visibly apparent.

His physique had now increased to 20 points, and his body’s recovery speed was far exceeding that of an ordinary person.

Fang Cheng’s eyes flickered as he looked at his status panel, checking the harvest from his morning training.

    【Focus Experience +5】
    【Boxing Experience +7】
    【Free Fighting Experience +10】
    【Push-up Experience +41】
    【Squat Experience +46】
    【Leg Raise Experience +30】
    【Pull-up Experience +30】
    【Back Bridge Experience +30】

The experience gain in five of his fitness skills had almost tripled.

To verify the actual effect of his 20-point physique,

Fang Cheng, after his regular training, deliberately increased the intensity and performed extreme additional training.

Within an hour and a half, he completed 500 decline push-ups, 500 single-leg squats, and 90 back bridges.

Then, he grabbed the bedroom door frame and did 120 pull-ups and 120 hanging leg raises consecutively.

Only when he was completely exhausted did he use “Potential Activation” to fully recover.

This was probably the limit of his physical endurance.

Even among world-champion athletes, he would be among the best.

Fang Cheng pondered this, his gaze turning to a skill on the panel that was sealed in gray.

    “Potential Activation…”

If he hadn’t deliberately added extra training to catch up,

A 20-point physique would have been more than enough to handle twice his usual training intensity.

In addition, with his improved mental attribute, unlocking new skills had become much easier.

Perhaps he could consider preserving the cooldown time for Potential Activation and use it as a true trump card…

The thought flashed through his mind.

Fang Cheng admired his physique for a moment before putting on his coat, picking up his bag of clothes, and heading out.

He was at a public bathhouse, located next to the apartment building where he lived.

Since his home didn’t have a private bathroom, Fang Cheng had to walk a bit further to shower.

Luckily, the price was affordable; a hot shower cost only five yuan for less than half an hour.

Several middle-aged women were chatting at the entrance. When they saw Fang Cheng leaving, their eyes turned towards him.

    “Hello, Li Shen.”

    Fang Cheng casually greeted them.

Every weekend after his morning training, he would come here to shower, and he was already quite familiar with the bathhouse owner.

However, the intense gazes of these middle-aged women made him somewhat embarrassed.

    “Good, good, good.”

Li Shen responded with a cheerful smile, nodding repeatedly.

Watching Fang Cheng’s departing figure, she smiled contentedly, muttering:

“Handsome, good figure, and so polite and clean. He’s such a great young man. It would be great if he could be my son-in-law…”

Hearing her muttering, a woman standing next to her slightly changed her expression.

Then, she lowered her voice and gossiped:

“I heard that Fang Cheng’s deceased father was a murderer. Li Jie Saozi should be careful.” (Li Jie Saozi is a respectful way to address Li Shen)

    “Is that so?”

Li Shen glanced at her indifferently:

“Last time at the vegetable market, didn’t I see you chatting with Bi Yun Meizi, trying to introduce your daughter to Fang Cheng?”

The woman was extremely embarrassed and quickly changed the subject.

Their conversation, however, set the other women’s minds racing.

Ordinary people valued character and ability.

Family background and such were concerns for the wealthy.

To put it bluntly, everyone living here belonged to the lower class of society, a mix of all sorts of people.

If you really looked into their ancestors’ history, no one’s family background was particularly good.

Therefore, a well-looking, self-disciplined, and aspiring young man like Fang Cheng was considered a promising prospect in the neighborhood, a highly sought-after catch.

If they waited another year or two, they might not have a chance.

“Ten beef-filled buns and two bags of soy milk, please pack them for me…”

Fang Cheng stood in front of a breakfast stall downstairs, taking out his wallet with one hand.

Due to his high mental attribute,

He could still clearly hear the gossip of the neighborhood aunties from the bathhouse across the street.

“Cheng, are you off today? You have quite an appetite.”

The owner, a simple middle-aged man, smiled as he used tongs to put the buns into a plastic bag.

Fang Cheng smiled and nodded in response, without further explanation.

Then, carrying two bags, he walked slowly towards home, stepping over puddles of stagnant water.

As he approached the apartment building, he saw an electric three-wheeled vehicle delivering gas tanks parked at the entrance.

Two people were standing in front of the vehicle, arguing over the price.

    “50 yuan? That’s too expensive!”

    “Big brother, how about 20?”

“We’re working in this freezing cold weather, we only charge you 5 yuan extra per floor.”

“It’s not cold today, the sun is out. Could you give us a discount, just half the price…”

Zhou Xiu Mei wasn’t wearing her usual scarf, her rosy little mouth chattering incessantly.

Holding her wallet, she took out some banknotes and tried to give them to the short and stout gas delivery man.

The delivery man, however, kept shaking his head and refusing.

    “Excuse me, let me help.”

At that moment, a tall and thin figure walked between the two, directly reaching out to take the gas tank from the ground.

Zhou Xiu Mei turned her head, her mouth slightly agape, as if startled, hurriedly saying:

“Cheng ge, it’s too heavy, you can’t lift it…”

The delivery man, seeing this, grumbled:

“If you have a man at home, just say so. This is so much trouble…”

Fang Cheng grasped the gas tank’s handle with one hand and lifted it effortlessly, carrying it towards the stairs.

The nearly fifty-kilogram steel tank, filled with liquefied gas, felt as light as a carton of milk in his hand.

Seeing this, the delivery man’s eyes widened, and he immediately shut his mouth.

Zhou Xiu Mei’s cheeks flushed red, and she followed behind him, at a loss for what to do.
