## Chapter 23: Greening Organisms
“You’ll help me, or this world’s peace will cease to exist.”
Harley Quinn thought to herself, “As if Bane, Joker, Two-Face, and the Riddler are all benevolent women.”
“Even someone as insane as you likes to live.”
“How about a little sweet deal? Treat me to a day at the spa, and send my little cousin, who’s seriously ill, an autographed Batman photo.”
Chen Tao walked past her directly towards the other side of the Batmobile.
Chen Tao silently counted in his mind.
3.
“Hey, Bat! Only I can…”
2.
“Bat? Batman?”
1.
“Okay, fine, whatever. You’re the boss anyway.”
Harley Quinn finally gave up and jumped into the passenger seat.
Tim, the third Robin, who had witnessed everything, scratched his head in exasperation.
“…Wait, Harley Quinn is coming with us?”
He stood in front of Chen Tao: “Is this a good idea?”
“Not my first choice,” he heard Batman answer. “But we can’t let her out of our sight.”
“She might tip off Poison Ivy about our search.”
“Ha! That’s right!”
Harley Quinn said sarcastically, squinting her eyes and pressing her fingers against her temples, making a silly face.
“The dangerous crazy is right here! Nobody knows what she’ll do.”
The three of them got in the car.
“Harley, I just need you to help me find Poison Ivy. That’s all. We’ll handle the rest.”
Chen Tao sat in the driver’s seat, pretending to steer.
He wasn’t the real Batman and didn’t know how to drive this thing that was called a car but was essentially a tank. From the beginning, the AI had been driving.
“We’ll go somewhere first. Then we’ll set out to find Poison Ivy.”
“Okay, okay, so what exactly is Ivy planning to do?”
“Based on the expertise of Professor Goldblum, who was kidnapped, the Plant Master and Poison Ivy’s ideology, as well as the Advanced Superhuman Joint Research Institute and the attack on Star Labs…”
“I’ve come to a conclusion: They will create a Swamp Monster using the synthesis formula and turn it into a rapidly spreading virus. Then they will cleanse the Earth, transforming humans into plant-animal hybrids.”
“What? Ugh!”
Harley Quinn stretched her neck and made a disgusted, exaggerated gesture. Then she said, “Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m not a racist – ”
She put her pale little hand on her chest and continued: “I mean, I have some friends who are plants, you know.”
“Well, at least on the bright side, they won’t kill everyone.” Robin said.
“Maybe,” Chen Tao replied, “But if they succeed, we’re all going to be living like plants.”
He glanced at Harley Quinn and deliberately said to her in a heavy tone: “And if their plan goes wrong, even slightly, we’ll see the extinction of all life on Earth within weeks, or even days.”
“Wow, that’s amazing.” Harley said, seemingly unfazed.
“But wait,” Tim, the third Robin, said, “Why do they need Professor Goldblum? Why don’t they just release the virus themselves?”
“Obviously, it’s a shortcut.” He answered himself quickly. “It might take years, even decades, to achieve genetic imprint engineering. Once they start, they can no longer be fully human. She is a natural mutant, while he’s a tree spirit from another dimension, who came to merge with ordinary people, ultimately submitting to the all-encompassing green super monster.”
“Tree spirit from another dimension? You’re kidding, right?” Harley exclaimed.
Chen Tao replied to Harley, “You’ve seen supernatural entities before, Clayface, Killer Croc, isn’t that…”
“Forget it,” he said. “We just need you to help us find Poison Ivy.”
The Batmobile twisted and turned, finally stopping in front of a dilapidated apartment building.
…
…
…
The Slaughter Swamp.
Inside a wooden cabin.
All sorts of experimental equipment was available here.
mua~
Poison Ivy was kissing Professor Goldblum.
“Oh, this is so disgusting! It’s appalling!”
The Plant Master was a walking tree. Lush vegetation and a tree trunk formed his body, as well as his fluffy, green head with ears like an elf’s. He was standing there, looking disgusted.
After a long time, they parted.
Professor Goldblum’s eyes flashed green as he got up dazedly and walked to the table, starting to synthesize the potion.
“Do you think I like doing this, exchanging saliva with him every six hours?”
Poison Ivy wiped her mouth and spat on the ground.
She said sarcastically:
“If you have a better way to make him listen to us, then I’m all ears.”
“Tsk.”
The Plant Master folded his arms: “Life is full of hardships.”
“I don’t want hardships.”
“There are 7 billion meat bags in this world. Our plan will be their hardship…at the very least, it will be an unimaginable hardship.”
Poison Ivy said:
“No, our plan is to purify, to purify all organic matter on Earth. It’s a noble and righteous act.”
“Noble and righteous, what a sarcastic term,” the Plant Master said. “A word created by a group of heartless beings who disregard other species and are constantly at war with each other.”
Poison Ivy continued, “That’s right, they always talk about climate change, but isn’t it all caused by them?”
At least on this point, she could agree with the Plant Master, and it was also the basis of their collaboration.
“In fact, it’s their fault.”
The Plant Master replied, “They’ve doubled their greenhouse gas emissions, crazily chopped down forests, and ravaged the planet. You once said something, Pamela, let me quote you, humans won’t care about any of this unless we force them.”
The two plant-based villains reached an agreement. They smiled at each other.
They stood together in front of the professor, looking at the grand blueprint of their plan:
“Alright, once our virus is activated, everyone on this planet will get a big treat: Greening everything!”
Professor Goldblum used his rubber-gloved hand to grab a white mouse from the box. Then he pointed the syringe-shaped gun in his hand at it.
“You’ll feel a little…pressure. Little guy, everything will be fine.”
He injected the pale green drug.
Under the eyes of the two plant-based villains, the white mouse gradually turned green, eventually growing green plants all over its body, completely transforming into a green mouse.
“It worked, it’s stable!”
The Plant Master said in a voice filled with ecstasy, “Oh my God, look how beautiful he is!”
Poison Ivy also suppressed her excitement and held it in her palm: “Come here, mama…”
The Plant Master raised his hands:
“This isn’t just an ordinary green leaf mouse, it’s a sign of a new era. Human factories, which are so damn ugly, will be replaced by giant redwood churches – lush green will cover the entire Earth – it will erupt –”
With a poof, the little green mouse exploded into a disgusting green, sticky mess.
