## Chapter 29: For Real

Green.

Endless green.

Plant Master Jason Wood opened his eyes wide. He felt like he was lying on a dewy meadow in the morning, the scent of grass singing in his ears and nose.

Countless green textures spread from the soles of his feet to the top of his head, intoxicating him, making him feel lightheaded and euphoric.

He said in a daze:

“Oh my god… I never realized it before.”

Chen Tao’s face changed slightly.

The Welding Dog Hero rushed forward. He was a silent and taciturn hero, his way of punishing evil was to weld dead dogs onto criminals’ faces. But this time, he encountered something beyond human.

Boom!

The Welding Dog Hero was thrown back, and a wooden dragon and a giant plant crab rose from the ground under Plant Master’s feet. All of this showed everyone that the Plant Master had been reborn in just three seconds.

Chen Tao frowned. Would he need to step in?

“What did you eat… was that a yam?”

“A very special yam,” said Plant Master.

He spread his hands, the wooden dragon beneath him flowed, raised its head, opened its mouth and roared silently towards everyone.

“They have some special abilities. I chose six of these tubers, dug them up from the Swamp Monster’s corpse a few years ago – you know, you have to do it right after he dies.”

He said solemnly: “I’ve kept them all this time, just waiting for an opportunity like this.”

With a clang, Poison Ivy was sent tumbling down the hill by Harley, landing right in front of their cabin, the experimental table not far away, with finished ingredients laid out on it.

“What’s that saying again? Ivy? [I can fight you for a day.]”

Poison Ivy sighed.

“I don’t have that much time.”

She waved her hand, and in an instant, Harley was bound by vines that stretched out from the ground, her feet tied together.

Poison Ivy turned and picked up the bottles of ingredients on the table, putting them one by one into her bag.

Professor Goldblum stood behind her, blinking green eyes and silently serving as a backdrop.

“This isn’t fair!”

Harley Quinn said. She lay face down on the ground, reaching for Poison Ivy with her hands, making “hmm” sounds.

Poison Ivy ignored her.

“Are those the ingredients for the virus, Ivy?”

“This is the antidote.”

Poison Ivy replied, “It can save the world, no matter what.”

“What does that mean? You haven’t tried it yet, have you? You’re not going to try it again either.”

Harley Quinn said, “Batman said if you make a mistake, you’ll kill everyone on the planet, Pam. Humans, animals, plants, is that what you want?”

Poison Ivy fell silent for a moment.

“Even if I don’t do this, the Earth will be destroyed in other ways. We only need the swamp water from Louisiana, and once we get it, we’ll be successful.”

She said, “I’m sorry, Harley, sometimes you have to go all in. Jason is right, there’s no time for the Green of All Things, and the Red of All Beings either.”

In the dark swamp, in the swaying shadows of the trees, a woman with pale green skin said, “The dark forces are stirring, Harley. The Swamp Monster is dead, and there is no one who can fully display the power of the Red of All Beings. No one can resist them, unless we try to…”

“So, no matter what I do, you won’t give up, right?”

Harley Quinn sat halfway on the ground, the smile gone from her face: “Okay, just remember after it’s all over.”

“I gave you a chance.”

“You’re going to…”

Poison Ivy turned around, but before she could finish her sentence, she saw Harley Quinn take off her clown hat.

“No.”

“That’s right, honey.” Harley Quinn slowly wiped off her exaggerated smoky eye makeup.

“Time to use the big guns.”

“You promised me, you would never—”

Harley Quinn wiped off all the makeup on her face.

She lowered her eyelids, mournful like a fawn that had lost its home, then opened her azure blue eyes.

The world seemed to fall silent as Harley’s mournful silence descended.

“Harley, I warn you—”

When the first tear welled up in those azure blue eyes, it was the smallest lake in the world, and even a man made of iron couldn’t withstand such tears.

Harley Quinn bit her lower lip.

“I won’t let you do this…”

Tears began to fall.

“Wah… wah… wah…”

Poison Ivy threw away the viral ingredients in her hand.

She started crying, and hugged Harley Quinn: “Wah… wah… wah… I hate you. I really hate you.”

Harley Quinn hugged her back, crying as she said: “Wah… wah… wah, it always works.”

She tried to hold back her tears, blowing her bangs out of her eyes.

“Shh!”

“The first echelon has collapsed…”

“The monster is not afraid of tanks at all!”

“Help, save me! This guy is lifting my tank, he’s going to throw me out—”

Boom!

There were piles of corpses and rivers of blood.

“No! Help, help! Don’t come near me, what kind of monster are you, you’re not…”

The soldier’s words were cut short before he could finish, as Bane grabbed his shoulder.

Bane’s face was expressionless as he exerted force.

Sizzle!

Blood splattered everywhere, the soldier was like a peeled banana.

Bane wearily tossed his mutilated body aside.

He had already slaughtered at least 2,000 people. He was exhausted after the initial excitement.

“Monster! Monster!”

Bane’s figure vanished instantly.

His 90-ton strength allowed him to easily overturn any tank, and with his speed, he could even casually catch shells. No one could stand a chance against him.

But as he was about to kill everyone, the army finally lost their last reserve.

As Bane threw the last mangled body to the ground, he saw missiles flying from the sky like shooting stars falling to earth, dazzling and beautiful.

They were full of deadly intent.

“God! That monster will finally die, right?”

Mayor Caro was no longer as confident as before. He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.

Although using missiles in the city was a devastating event, it was better than the National Guard being defeated and losing face.

“Jim Gordon! Go get your people in order again, have them keep shelling! This guy can’t be dealt with by conventional means!”

Mayor Caro’s hands were trembling.

2,000 people, he had previously wanted to capture Bane alive, so he had sent people to surround the district.

But so many people, were all slaughtered by Bane single-handedly, one by one!

What kind of monster was this, bullets couldn’t hurt him, and he could catch shells with his bare hands.

There was no escape, there was nowhere to run, the other was very bloodthirsty, aiming for complete annihilation.

“I understand, should we call Batman…”

“Don’t mention that name in front of me, Gordon, we can solve this, we just need shells—” he said in a low voice, with a calm hysteria: “We can solve him with shells!”

Jim Gordon reluctantly left.

But after a while.

Knock knock knock!

“Is anyone there?”

The door was knocked on.

Mayor Caro impatiently opened the door and yelled, “Didn’t I tell you to go maintain—”

But it wasn’t Gordon who entered.

Mayor Caro looked in horror at the pale man with the twisted smile.

“Joker!”

“Guard! Guard!”

Mayor Caro cried out for help, then he saw the two corpses behind the Joker, both with twisted smiles.

He turned his head and saw Scarecrow sitting by the window, giving him a salute.

“Good afternoon!”
