Chapter 28: Explosive Ambush

The vast majority here had bet on Danker Jin. If You Qing actually won, they would lose everything.

Although he would be in a “draw one, attack one” situation, he still had two monsters with over 2000 attack points, in addition to his advantageous field spell card.

He decided to stick to the original plan: defeat his opponent without using a Synchro Summon!

“Activate its effect: When this card is Normal Summoned/Flip Summoned/Special Summoned, target one card on the field; toss two coins. If both are heads, destroy the target.”

Danker Jin sneered: “Already pinning your hopes on luck? Truly amateur~”

“No, it was just a casual attempt,” You Qing’s lips curled into a slight smile. “Entering the Battle Phase, Double-Barreled Dragon, attack Dark Armed Dragon!”

Everyone was stunned.

Using 1700 to attack 2300?!

What did that mean?

Amidst the surrounding surprise, You Qing played a second card: “Quick-Play Spell—Limiter Removal!”

“Doubles the ATK of a Machine-Type monster you control. As cost, destroy that monster during the End Phase.”

“With this card, Double-Barreled Dragon’s attack will reach 3400!!”

“Enough to crush your monster!!!”

“Bang bang————————”

Under the intense overload, Double-Barreled Dragon’s entire body turned a striking crimson. Two flaming heavy-caliber shots erupted, and everyone present felt a blinding flash of white light, followed by the resounding explosion and sinking of the fortress submarine!

“Two attacks, and your acrobatics will end there!!”

“Summon in attack mode! Legendary Fisherman!!”

“Entering Battle Phase! Direct attack on the Duelist!!”

But at that moment, a commanding card slammed onto You Qing’s monster zone. He revealed his back-row trap card, smiling slightly: “Trap Card activate—Explosive Ambush!”

“Pay 2000 LP, Special Summon one monster from your Graveyard in face-up Defense Position!!”

“Since the number of monsters on the field has changed, your attack is negated!”

“Danker Jin, do you choose to continue attacking?”

“What?!”

“A monster resurrected with two thousand life points?”

Looking at the mysterious face-down Defense Position monster, Danker Jin broke out in a cold sweat.

He clearly remembered every monster card in You Qing’s Graveyard. Only one possessed a Flip effect—the dreaded Marshmallow!

If he continued his attack, Marshmallow would inflict another 1000 points of effect damage. With his current 700 LP, he couldn’t survive!

“Hehehe~” Danker Jin chuckled coldly. “Trying to lure me into attacking, then trigger Marshmallow’s effect to finish me off?”

“Such a simple trap, I won’t fall for it!”

“As long as I keep things steady and avoid triggering that monster’s effect, I’ll find a way to counter it soon enough!”

“Your laughable tactics are utterly meaningless!!”

But the next second, when You Qing revealed his other face-down card, his expression completely collapsed.

“That, that’s… Battle Mania?!” Danker Jin’s eyes widened.

This card first appeared in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds, used by the protagonist Yusei Fudo in prison.

Compared to the OCG card effect, the anime version of Battle Mania had no activation conditions, making it far more versatile in practice.

“That’s right, it’s Battle Mania!” You Qing nodded. “When Explosive Ambush is activated, this Trap Card also activates in chain. This turn, any monster that can attack must attack!”

“You still have a Dragon-Type monster, Aqua Pazuzu!!”

“Under the card’s effect, it must attack the face-up Defense Position Marshmallow!”

“Once it’s flipped by battle, Marshmallow will inflict 1000 points of effect damage!!”

“The duel… is over!!!”
